As to the ultimate question of whether or not there is a supreme being: it is plausible that humans and the world we inhabit are an accident of a purely mechanical universe devoid of higher meaning. I personally find that possibility to be utterly unsatisfying, and to run contrary to my own perceptions and experience. You can disagree and we'll still get along just fine. ...that being said from a guy who can't grow a beard.
