When the proposed tax for driving on our roads starts?
Will "big business" be able claim back the cost when doing their tax returns.
I expect that their accountants will find a way to do it for them.
Of course this will mean that the average driver, who won"t be able to claim it back will be screwed again.
Mind you, thats just about "par" for this Government.
3 AntwortenOther - Politics & Governmentvor 1 JahrzehntWent to see Willie Rodriguez, last man alive out of WTC on 9/11?
He was giving a talk in Totnes, Devon last evening. He conveyed his experiece with us, and told how he was the "only" witness to give evidence to the 9/11 comission "behind closed doors"
No press or cameras were allowed. He told us he was in level "B2" (basement) when there was an extremely violent explosion from a lower basement level. (before the aircraft hit the building) He told the comission that there were a further 22 witnesses that could confirm this. The comission refused to allow them to give evidence, and their final report completely ignore his evidence.
My question is WHY?

£2.3 Billion on office refurbishment, when our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are ill-equipped and under paid.
The Wives living in Military accomodation are having to put up with sub-standard conditions.
The estimated cost of this MOD refurbishment works out at roughly £27,000 per sq. metre.
A good way to spend our taxes?
7 AntwortenMilitaryvor 1 JahrzehntWhat do you think I should do about this!?
Great Western Railways sent me an E Mail offering discounts on rail tickets. As I was planning a weekend in London I booked 2 return tickets.
The cost was £58.00 for one ticket and £38.00 for the other one.
The price for return was shown on the ticket and although we had no problems on the outward journey, on the return we met the most arrogant man either of us had ever met ( he was in the guise of a ticket inspector) He questioned the prices on the tickets and told us they were wrong. I went through the rigmarole of explaining exactly how I had bought them etc. but he would not accept the explanation. I had a booking reference with me and asked him to check. He told us he did not have time and if I did not pay an extra £20.00 we would be put off at the next stop.
The conversation had obviously been overheard by other passengers, and his attitude was as if we were trying to steal a ride back to Devon. I had no alternative but to pay. I sent GW an E Mail with absolutely no response.

Gordon Brown visiting Iraq and promising a further £100 million to help rebuild the infrastructure.
How can he find this money when jobs are being lost in the NHS, and our Pensioners are having trouble making ends meet.

A crow landed in a field of bullocks.
He walked about and came upon a steaming pile and proceeded to eat his fill.
This made him really happy so he flew to the top of the highest tree in the field, and started to "crow" his head off.
2 minutes later the farmer came into the field and shot the crow (stone dead)
The moral of the story is -
You may get to the top of the tree on "bullshit" but some b"stard will always shoot you down.

installing "Netgear" DG834GT - ADSL Modem Router for Wireless broadband connection.
I followed the instructions to the letter and although it told me it was working, I couldn"t retrieve my "Home Page"
I spoke to an "Indian" gentleman at Netgear, but couldn"t understand a word he said.
Looks like I"ll have to pay someone to install it for me.
Thanks Netgear.
7 AntwortenComputer Networkingvor 1 JahrzehntWhy do I have to pay?
Income Tax on my Pension. This Goverment is very concerned that people save in a Pension Fund to help when they retire. I have worked all my life and have paid into my Pension, and now I find that I am having to pay tax on it. I know Pension contributions are Tax Free, but surely if the payments were Tax Free, say for pensions under £15,000 p/a then this would encourage people to save. I find it frustrating that when you reach an age when you find it more difficult to manage, this money grabbing Gov. of ours still wants it"s pound of flesh.

that when he suceeds to the Throne, he wants 2 coronation ceremonies. The first will be a Christian ceremony and the 2nd is to be a Multifaith ceremony. This is a change of centuries of tradition. Do you think he should do this, or is it another case of Political Correctness going too far?
30 AntwortenOther - Politics & Governmentvor 1 JahrzehntWhy is it if I visit a non EU Country, I can only purchase?
a limited amount of tobacco, cigarettes or spirits, when companies like Marks and Spencer can purchase item of clothing from places like China, import them and sell them to us at extortionate prices. Why can"t I take a ship to say Gibralter and purchase 250,000 packs of Old Holborn [price there £1.65/pack] Import them, pay 17.5% VAT and then legally sell them. even with the VAT the cost per pack would be well below the cost of £10/pack in our shops. Is it a case of one rule for business and another for the average citizen. Even from EU Countries the Vatman puts a limit on the amount you can bring back. This must be wrong, but then again I suppose Gordon needs the money?
3 AntwortenOther - Politics & Governmentvor 1 JahrzehntHow can the West continue to trade with China?
this communist state have tortured over 40000 people.[Documented by the United Nations] Experts say that over 10 thousand have died during torture. Their organs then sold for use in transplants, This is a Country that we in England are trading with more and more. Surely there must come a time where morality overcomes profit, but then again money rules the mind when it comes to the West. Evidence is forthcoming that followers of Falon Gong [a practice of "slow moving meditative exercises"] are being imprisoned, tortured, and murdered for their organs. There are over 100,000000 practioners in China, and all of them are now at risk. I think it is about time severe pressure was put on China to improve their human rights record.

15 AntwortenPoliticsvor 1 JahrzehntIs our National Health Service the "envy of the world?
Here in little old Britain we have the best health provider in the World. I know there are major problems, but if you have an accident the whole system swings into action, and it"s "free" if you ignore the various taxes. YOU DON"T HAVE TO PRODUCE AN iNSURANCE POLICY before they sew your arm or leg back on. I have a private health policy, I decided to have this by choice to cover all the non emergency health problems that may occur in my Family. That is the area inwhich I consider our systm is failing slightly.

3 AntwortenOther - Politics & Governmentvor 1 JahrzehntWho like me is pissed off at paying extortionate Water Rates?
The South West of England where I am lucky enough to live, has the largest coastline. South West Water, who made large profits last year charge me over £500 p/a so the beaches can be clean enough for the visitors. The water in the tap hasn"t changed since there were no such thing as a seperate charge for water, included in general rates. The visitors clogg up the roads and towns in the summer, with no benefit to the average working man.
