  • I have too much homework?

Today I had to take the day off because I was so sleep deprived. For the past 4 weeks, I've either had finals, or a massive homework. I haven't been able to exercise, write (one of my favorite hobbies), play my violin, and I've also had to quit drama club because I didn't attend any meetings due to homework. I get home at 3, and I work until 11. I feel like I'm going insane. I haven't felt any emotion but anger and fear for a couple weeks now, my friends have commented on me becoming anti-social, and I also haven't felt hungry enough for dinner in days. I feel like I'm going mad. Most of my friends don't have this problem, but they also maintain B's and C's rather than A's and a few B's.

    What should I do?

  • I need more books to read...?

So my favorite book series of all time has ended. I don't know what to do with myself anymore, and need another book series to read. Problem is, I don't know what.

    I love the books:

Skulduggery Pleasant (my all time favorite series hence the avatar) by Derek Landy

    Harry Potter

    Tunnels by Roderick Gordon

Bartimaeus series by Jonathan Stroud (and his other series Lockwood and Co. is good so far)

Malice by Chris Wooding (and anything else by him...)

    Sherlock Holmes

    Frankenstein

    Virals series by Kathy Reichs

    Anything by Neil Gaiman

    Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

The Ascendance trilogy by Jennifer Nielsen

    I didn't like:

    Twlight (who does)

    Hunger Games

    LOTR (it's boring. sorry)

    Divergent

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children

    The Ranger's Apprentice

    Alex Rider

    Mortal Instruments

    Eragon

Books with wit, good writing, action (lots of it), awesome characters (no Mary Sue's please, and if the characters are only good as in likable but maybe static or not as round as they should be there better be some really awesome world building, scares, and action), fantasy and sic-fi would be appreciated. I'll read horror provided it's ACTUALLY SCARY (and I am hard to please in that), and I'm open to anything in the children's and adult's section (as long as it's appropriate for a 15 year-old), but am a bit skeptical about the YA section because all it seems to be is hormones and elementary school level writing. Anything funny works too.

  • What do you guys think of American Authors?

Just curious. I think they're awesome, but I'm getting kind of sick of Best Day of My Life because they play it on the radio so often.

  • Help me I'm bored?

I'm so bored and don't know what to do with my self!

All my friends are on vacation.

It's 90F and way to hot to go outside. Otherwise I'd be riding a skateboard.

I can't think of anything to write as I cannot think of anything creative and my life is too boring to even try writing about (which I have done and stared at a blank page for an hour).

My parents are trying to move into a larger house and our house now has been staged and cleaned. No mess is aloud. Therefor, no art beyond paper and pencil and I don't know what to draw.

    No nail polish aloud either.

    I don't want to read.

My brother is at a friends house.

The only video games around are Wii sports, Super mario smash bros., and Lego Star Wars which I hate.

There's nothing on TV I checked.

    I'm too young to drive.

    The Spring Cleaning is done.

I have been forbidden to have any games on my computer.

Have I eliminated all possibilities of entertainment? Or is there actually something fun that I could do?

  • Have you ever said something to someone…?

meaning it as a complement, but it sounded like, or the person took it as an insult.

ex: My friend and I were preparing to play in an orchestra competition, and wearing our concert attire (food length black dresses). Mine did a really good job of outlining my hourglass shape, but I thought it was a little weird to see the outline hip bone because I have been wearing jeans for the past 6 months. I mentioned that I feel almost too thin wearing it (because I wasn't used to seeing that) and she says, "Oh don't worry about that, you're definitely NOT too thin." Awkward silence ensued.

  • Appropriate "adult" books for teens?

I'm 14 but have a very high reading level. Lately I've been scouring the YA section for some decent books but am getting really sick of it because it's all written at a 4-6th grade level (vocabulary and story-telling I mean). I'm trying to find some good adult fantasy, action/adventure, mystery books but I don't know which ones are "appropriate" for me to read yet. Any suggestions?

PS: Dresden files looked interesting. What age would you recommend for someone to read it?

  • What are some good books to read?

I need something exciting to read, but I can't find anything that seems good enough!

I loved Skulduggery Pleasant, Tunnels, Harry Potter, anything by Chris Wooding, The False Prince... Basically, I want to read something with lots of suspense, action, adventure, and hopefully fantasy (or at least a medieval or steampunk flare).

I've already read Gregor the overlander, Percy Jackson, Alex Rider, Treasure Island, The Hunchback assignments, Artemis Fowl, LOTR, Sherlock Holmes (oh yes I like mysteries), and those are the ones I've read recently.

Please do NOT suggest anything like Twilight, the perks of being a wallflower (I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy those), or Hunger Games.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Books to read please help?

I need a book to read (I don't care if it's a written chapter book or manga) it must be exciting, suspenseful, have action, and hopefully some dark humor. Age range: 12-16. Thankyou.
