Jehovah's Witnesses, what does it mean to you that the Apostles called Jesus "My Lord and my God"?
In John 20:28 ... ὁ κύριός μου καὶ ὁ θεός μου -- "the Lord of me and the God of me."
In verse 29, Jesus blessed this statement of belief and all who would also believe without seeing him in the flesh -- virtually every Christian since Christ's ascension.

It does seem we have to do things.
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenIs Jesus the Almighty God? What does the apostle John say (NWT)?
13 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenIs Jesus the Almighty God? What does Revelation say (NWT)?
Rev. 1:8 "I am the Alpha and Omega," says Jehovah God, "the one who is and was and who is coming, the Almighty."
Rev 21:13,16 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.... I, Jesus..."
-- Jehovah God is the Alpha and the Omega.
-- Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega.
Add to that the witness of the prophet Isaiah:
Isa 44:6 KJV "Thus saith the LORD [Hebr YHWH - Yah'weh,Jehovah] the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (see also 41:4, 48:12)
-- Jehovah God is the first and the last, and the only God there is.
-- Jesus is the first and the last.
If Jesus is what Jehovah is, then Jesus is somehow Jehovah God, though not the Father, since the Father and the Son are not identical, as we well know. Yet both are Jehovah God.

"In remembrance' doesn't qualify as "only spiritually.". Even today, when we remember a friend with a toast, the drink is quite literal.

8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 5 JahrenHow can the doctrine of the Holy Trinity be unscriptural?
The Church compiled the Bible in the 4th century, keeping writings that conformed to its teachings. It is clear that the Church held to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity by that time -- God is Father, Son/Word and Holy Spirit, and so by definition, what the Church believed is "scriptural". What is the basis for calling the Holy Trinity "unscriptural"?
Do remember that neither "personal savior," "altar call," nor "Kingdom Hall" is in the Bible (words used by Noncatholics), but "confess your sins" and "he who believes and is baptized shall be saved" are, while answering about the Holy Trinity.
