How would you interpret my pregnancy/birth dream?
I had a dream that I was pregnant and giving birth. My boyfriend was lovingly by my side. The baby was born, and it wasn't painful at all, everything was kind of idyllic. Once the child was born, I was kind of jumping up and down in joy, thinking he was very beautiful, and i wanted to run to get a camera (I know, I had a lot of energy for someone who just gave birth!) And I was yelling excitedly to my boyfriend "John, you have a son, john you have a son!" But then I realized my boyfriend wasn't there, and then I woke up! What the heck?! It's my first time ever having a pregnancy or giving birth dream. I'm 27 years old been with my boyfriend almost a year. We've never talked about having kids :P

What's going on and how can I fix it?! Its already been more than a month that I haven't been able to access Facebook from my home computer. But I can access my Facebook account fine from other computers and my mobile. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks!
1 AntwortFacebookvor 9 JahrenWhen should you stop showing a rental property?
I'm moving out of town and am planning to begin renting out my house. I posted an ad on craigslist and got several responses. One person was very persistant about wanting to see the place soon. So I showed him the place that weekend, but told others I'd be available to show it the following week.
The person who looked at it says he definitely wants the place. I gave him a rental application but have not received it back yet. He seems like he would be a good tenant. Should I continue showing the house to other people? If someone else wants it too, what should I do? Should you give it to whoever turns in a good rental application first?
I can tell that this first person really wants the place. I feel kind of guilty continuing to show it. Any landlords have a perspective on this?

I am trying to buy a gift card from Corte Ingles for someone I know who lives in Spain. I am trying to have it sent to her address. My Spanish isn't good and I'm looking for some translation help in navigating the order form.
I think i'm doing OK, I just don't understand what to put in the "poblacion" and "P/V" fields.
Here's the context, and the answers I have filled in so far (fake address though):
Pais: Espana
Provincia: Madrid
Código postal (opcional): 40008
Población: ??? (this means "population" right? Am I supposed to put the city here?)
Nombre de la vía (sólo el nombre, no indicar calle, plaza, etc.): Alcala
Número: 12
S/N : ???? (this is a check box)
Piso/Esc./Pt. (opcional): ???? I was planning to leave this blank
If anybody here speaks is from Spain or speaks Spanish and can help me out that would be awesome!! thanks!

After a wind storm a patch of about 10 square feet of shingles came off of my roof. I called a handyman I know to come and take a look at it, but he did not get back to me today. How urgent is it that I get this fixed immediatly? If I wait until Monday or Tuesday to have it fixed, could that cause damage to my roof? It is supposed to rain on Sunday..
Would it be worth it for me to call a company that offers "emergency" service on weekends? The thing is companies tend to charge a big premium for this. There is still tar paper stuff on the roof, it is only the shingles that came off.
2 AntwortenMaintenance & Repairsvor 1 JahrzehntDo I need to change my oil? It looks clean!?
So, I'm at about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. I was going to get it changed today -- but I checked the dipstick first. The oil is above the "full" mark and it looks like a nice, clean translucent brown oil color.
How can this be? Shouldn't it be dirty/sludgy by now?
I am thinking... I have taken my car to the shop a couple of times recently. Once was to get my fuel pump replaced, the other to fix an engine valve. At any rate, could it be that the mechanic changed my oil without telling me?
I guess I should call him and ask...

I'm planning to attend a graduate program this fall at a private university. I just learned from an admissions representative that the school recently decided to raise tuition by about $4000. (It's an expensive program, so this is a fairly small percentage increase.)
The tuition increase s not yet updated on the Web site. The school still has the lower tuition posted for the 2010-11 school year. It seems very late in the game to do this... many students have already paid a deposit to join the upcoming class.
School starts in just about 6 months! Are there any requirements/laws about how much in advance a college or university must tell students about tuition hike? It seems like false advertising.
1 AntwortHigher Education (University +)vor 1 JahrzehntWho is liable for a super-high gas bill that is the result of a leak -- the landlord or tenant?
I own a single-family rental property. In December my tenants had a super-high gas reading. It was determined there was a gas-leak. I had the leak fixed immediately. It was fairly easy to fix, and cost me a reasonable $200.
It turns out that the gas meter had not been read since a year ago (when the tenants first moved in). Apparently, the tenants had been at work every time the meter reader came. It appears that the pipes could have been leaking for months, and we had no way to know because the area of the leak was well ventilated (in the basement near a vent) and because the meter had not been read for such a long time.
I told my tenants I would try and take care of any very high gas bill, since I did not think it would be fair to make them pay for it even though the account is in their name. Well, they just got their gas bill -- and it says they owe $6100 for all the gas that went out the window!
I am going to try and get the gas company to reduce this amount. But, this will be very hard for me to pay, even if they cut it in half. I am trying to figure out what my liability is. Am I legally responsible to cover this bill, or is the tenant?
5 AntwortenRenting & Real Estatevor 1 JahrzehntAm I a dual citizen or not?
I'm filling out a grant application for an overseas project. The application says that I MUST list dual citizenship. I am a U.S. citizen but my father was born in another country. I was born here, in the US as was my mother. I know that I *could* get a passport from my father's home country. (He is a dual citizen, holding both passports.) I had one as a juvenille, but it expired when I turned 18. I have never held a passport from that country as an adult.
Does this automatically make me a dual citizen? Or does being a citizen mean that you actively hold a passport?
Whether or not I'm a dual citizen should have no impact on my eligibility for the grant. But I want to make sure I fill out the application accurately. I asked the organization for clarification on this and was told:
" I don't know whether you are technically a citizen or not, that's something you would have to determine, and if so, include on your application. "
I guess the safe route would be just to say that I am a dual citizen whether I technically am or not?

I know it's impossible to find a job in Spain; so you can spare me that information. However, if one wanted to look for a job there anyway, what Web site might they use? I'm talking professional jobs here. For me, the fields of writing or journalism would be the most relevant. If there's a resource specifically for journalism jobs that would be excellent!
I'm particularly interested in jobs in Madrid or Barcelona.
(I also know that non EU citizens need to be sponsored in order to obtain a work permit, and there's a quota, and you probably won't be approved. Ok, ok. But I want to browse, anyway. Thanks!)

I applied close to deadline for an MBA program in town. They contacted me to schedule an interview today. They said if I did it this week I'd have a better chance of being admitted/getting a scholarship because I'd just make an earlier meeting of the admissions committee. Tomorrow morning was the only time they had available for this week -- so I took the slot.
So; I have only tonight to prepare for the interview -- and decide what to wear. I am wondering -- should I go out and buy a brand new suit? If so; any toughts on a pants suit or skirt? I don't currently own a coordinated suit set.
Or do you think I could get away with just wearing a knee legth skirt i already have with a blazer I already have? I don't have ones that specifically match.. so I'd probably end up wearing a patterned skirt with a blazer that sort of matched. (for example a brown and tan textured pencil skirt with a brown -- or tan -- blazer... i actually have a lot of blazers for some reason..) I also have a grey skirt I could wear with a black blazer... or I could do black on black but they might not be exactly the same shade...
(If I could skip a trip to the mall it would give me more time to actually prepare for the interview!)
If you're wondering about the prestigousness/selectiveness of the program -- it's ranked, but not in the top 20 or anything. A good school, though, and there is fair competition.
Thanks everyone for your help!

I want to make an iron-on t-shirt design like the one in this photo.

That's a photo of anti-disco disk jockey Steve Dahl.
At any rate, anyone know of any common fonts that look something like that? I tried going through all the ones in word pad but was getting frustrated!
(Also, I know I can buy a "disco sucks" t-shirt online, but I really want to replicate this particular famous design that doesn't seem to be out there for sale. )
3 AntwortenOther - Visual Artsvor 1 JahrzehntWhy are lease agreements always on legal size paper?
In my experience, lease agreements have always been on abnormally long, legal size paper. I guess this would be the case for a lot of legal contracts (probably why it's called "legal" size paper.) But what is the benefit of it? Seems like it just makes it harder to fit in a filing cabinet. As a new landlord, I was planning on printing my first lease on regular old 8 1/2 X 11 paper; think that'll be OK? Otherwise I have to go out and buy some legal paper...
3 AntwortenRenting & Real Estatevor 1 JahrzehntWhat's the best Web site to do a tenant credit check?
Hey Landlords --
Was wondering if anyone could suggest a site that is good for doing online credit checks on tenants. There are so many sites out there that offer them; I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting. Obviously, I want to get all three reporting agencies (if feasible), and I want a low price. I've seen the price on credit checks range from $9.95 to $29.99. What is reasonable?
Any specific Web sites anyone could point me to? Can you get the reports directly through the reporting agencies? It seems like most of these Web sites I'm finding are third parties. What would be the benefit of using a third party site?
I'm a new landlord. I've had no problem requesting my own credit report in the past; but this seems to be a totally different process. Please help!

I went to vote today and they couldn't find me in their book, even though I voted at the same precinct last election, and in the primary, using the same address. I ended up having to vote a provisional ballot.
I think I might actually be in the book, but they might have my name spelled wrong or something. Was there anything I could have done to not have to vote provisionally?
Obviously, I'm going to try to clear this up once the election is over so it doesn't happen next time around.
If you were wondering, I live and vote in Ohio.
