Ok I took my 99 vw beetle turbo up to vw yesterday to have the serpentine belt, timing belt, tinshiner and water pump changed. $789.00 later they tell me that when they hooked my car up to see if it was running right since they did all the work that now it saying it has faults for misfires. They also said I need two front tires, there is an oil leak, the suspension clunks and I need a fuel filter. This car doesnt miss at all and the engine light hasnt come on as of yet but I just got the car and started driving it.I am going to have the oil changed in about a month and a half so when I do that I will have the fuel filter changed. It does have a starter problem. It sat in a grarage for 3 months without driving so we think the starter is sticking and if in a week its still sticking we are going to replace it. My question is this: will a bad fuel filter cause it to have faults for misfires or could the starter do it? If not what are some things that will. She said it had faults for misfires then told me she couldnt tell me what they were because they would have to do a complete diagnostic on it and that was $50 and after paying almost $800 I didnt have that so they could see. Its not idleing rough or sounding rough so should I be worried at this time? I do know that misfires can be caused by spark plugs, wires and the like but should I be worried. I just got this car and paid $3500 and then put $800 in it in maintence stuff and now Im worried. 10 pts to the best answer.

I have a 99 vw beetle turbo. On start up it makes this weird rrrr sound like something is rubbing. Not sure that is it but it is the only way to describe it. Doesnt make that sound after wards during driving or idleing. Its got me stumped. I have googled this and cant come up with anything. Im wondering if this is the noise from the fuel pump starting up. I have heard from several ppl that some cars can make a noise like this when started and is completly normal. I have an appt to bring my bug into the dealership and have the timing belt and water pump replaced wednesday. Alot of ppl are asking about why wheres my refund online and by telephone is not updated yet. I believe it is updated on Wednesdays. I filed on the 18th and it was recieved and accepted by the irs on the 18th. I just called this morning and it has updated and said that mine is scheduled for direct deposit on the 29th. Where I filed my taxes on says that if you file by 11am between the january 15th and january 21st and direct deposit, it will be scheduled to be deposited by the 29th. Just trying to help some ppl out that are wondering what is going on with there refund because it takes the irs forever to update there systems.

Ok my dad taught me how to drive a 5spd many moons ago. But I havent driven one in forever. My question is this, I noticed when I drove my buddys truck(5spd)that I dont downshift much. When I go to stop at a redlight I just put my foot on the clutch and the break and stop and then put it into the correct gear it should be. Is that bad and if it is please let me know what Im doing wrong. I dont want my clutch to burn up faster then normal

Ok so I am purchasing a 99 vw beetle turbo. The car has 106,000 miles on it and the original waterpump and timing belt. Im not driving it until I get my paycheck to have both of these replaced. The dealership told the lady that Im buying it from that it looks ok but the mechanic from vw that I talked to said that you cant directly look and tell whether they will break or not. My question is this, do you think it will make it to the dealership to get it done without the belt breaking? This car is all highway miles and has been garage kept since it was bought brand new off the dealership back in 99. I guess Im just a worry wort. Anyone with advice would be appreciated and 10 points to the best answer. The dealership is probably about 15 minutes from my house and the lady has done the oil every 3000 miles since she has gotten it. She has taken very good care of it. Im just hoping it will make it up there to get the maintance done. What does everyone think.

I am going to purchase a 1999 vw beetle turbo. The car has been taken care of really well and is a one owner vehicle since it was bought brand new. To me this sounds low since everyone says that vw repairs and maintanence is outrageous so now Im second guessing whether I heard him right. I tell other ppl this price and they said well they are expensive and that sounds high so yeah that sounds right. So If anyone knows if this price sounds right help me out and 10 points to the best answer.

I have played several games on my ps3 and have had no issues at all. I bought Saw the other day and during part of the game the gamescreen turned all red and there was lines through the tv. I have a female dog name Misha. She is approximatly 44 to 46 pounds. She went to the vet about 2 months ago and that was the approximate weight. She is part Labrador, Border Collie and Malamute. So at this point Im assuming she is 1 of the dreaded deep chested dogs that are more suseptable to bloat. Im wondering what is the definition of a deep chested dog. I have googled this and all that comes up is different breeds of dogs suseptable to bloat. No measurements come up like if a dog has these types of measurements they are more prone to bloat. Can anyone if they know let me know what the measurements are. I feed her 2 smaller meals a day. They arent real small but it comes out to about a mix of 2 cups of food in the morning and 2 in the evening. She eats a combination of a lamb and rice weight formula and a small kibble formula.I have tried to soak it so that it expands in the bowl and not in her stomache but she refuses to eat it like that. She doesnt gulp it down like labs tend to do. She will take small amounts in her mouth go in the living room eat them and then come back for more. The only treat she gets is a piece of cheese about once a day or once every 2 days. I was giving her beef treats but these were causing her to belch and I was worried about stomache upset and problems so she doesnt get commercial treats anymore. She eats about 8 in the morning so I dont leave till about ten after nine and she is in her cage laying down till I come home roughly 5 hours later. So the only excercise that she gets after she eats is going outside to go potty about 30 min after. If she sees a person, bus or animal she will jump on top of the couch and growl but I dont think thats the excercise the internet is talking about. If anyone is knowledgable in bloat in dogs please let me know if Im doing anything wrong or if I can do something better or do more to prevent this. I love her so much and after seeing Marly and Me several ppl have told me thats how there dog passed away. So Im worried about it. I didnt know anything about this until the movie and now I want to make sure my dog never gets this. Im also thinking about talking to my vet about the surgery for anchoring the stomache in place to help this not happen since she does have the breeds in her that are prone to this disease. Ok we got her on Friday, August 14th. So she has been with us for roughly a little over a week. I noticed right away she doesnt like men in general. It took her 4 days before she would let my bf pet her and now lounges next to him on the couch. But about my question. Last night my bf left about 8 at night and came back around 1 in the morning. When she saw him she went nuts. Barking and growling and the hackles were up. She wasnt trying to bite. She was scared and kept trying to back away. She has also done this with other ppl that she has seen 6 to 8 times and then doesnt see them for a day and then when they come back over freaks out barking and growling basically scared to death. She even did it to me one night right after we got her but she hasnt done it to me since. No one here yells at her or strikes her in any way because if they did they would get a swift kick in the butt. I disipline with a stern voice and it usually does the trick. But Im the only one she listens to. But with this behavior do you think she may have some eye problems? I get paid in a week and she is going to the vet for her heartworm, frontline and her 4th puppy shot. Some places only do 3 which she has had but my vet likes to do 4. I forgot to say she is 6 months old. I have never experienced behavior like this in a dog and am going to get the vets opinion on this but also wanted to hear what everyone else thinks also. Now I know that labs are extremely smart but they are also extremely bull headed. I need help on what to get to train her to walk. I got her about 3 days ago. The only thing she knows are sit, paw and get in the cage. She is also crate trained and doing really well on her potty training. I need to teach her to walk on a leash. She is on a choker chain right now but she doesnt care if she strangles herself on the thing. A guy told me his buddy who is a vet told him to get this choker chain that has spikes in it. He said his buddy said it doesnt hurt them but depending on how much they pull depends on how much it closes in with the spikes. My question is should I use one of these or something else? The harnesses look really cool to use but Im afraid even with a harness she will pull and I want her to learn to walk right next to me. Any advice from some owners that have dogs like this or did have dogs like this. Thanks

This is just a little information for all the rat owners out there. I know when you have a health concern on here the first thing that ppl say is take the animal to the vet. And yes everytime that one of my girls get sick we go to the vet. But alot of ppl on here just dont realize how expensive the medical costs can be with rats and how often you may have to take them to the vet. For example, when my females get respitory infections Baytril which is the cheapest antibiotic doesnt work on my girls. They have to take Vibramycin and it costs $89 a bottle at my vet and I have to have 2 bottles. One of my girls came down with a UTI. So I took her to the vet. 4 days later she was worse. So I took her back and they said she not only had a UTI but had pnomonia and the infection in the lungs had spread to her bladder. In a matter of 3 days I had spent a little over $200 at the vets office. And my vet is the cheapest one around. They only charge $22 for an office visit. Everyone else charges between $40 and $65. Unfortunatly 1 day after we went back to the vet she passed on and I had her cremated and put into an urn. And I have 8 years experience in owning and rescuing these wonderfully misunderstood animals and her breathing sounded fine to me. But the vet said the pnumonia was in the lower part of her lungs where you couldnt hear just by her breathing. She showed no signs. No sneezing no wheezing no labored breathing for me to think massive respitory infection. Rats are also prone to tumors and tumor removals can be pricey. They can run you about $200 for one tumor removal. So I just want to let everyone know that just because they are rats doesnt mean that there medicine and vet bills would be less expensive. And in my opinion because I have had 8 years experience with them, they arent as hardy as other animals. But thanks for reading. I took my rat Buttercup to the vet Friday because she has vaginal bleeding. Her back legs were splayed out when she walked and she was having alot of pain when you would pull her tail up. She would squeak pretty loud. They wanted to do an x-ray but I didnt have the $50 extra for this. They gave me Baytril and meticam for pain. If she is still bleeding or in pain by next Tuesday when I get paid back to the vet she goes and gets the x-ray. My question is this have any rat owner experienced this. I know this is serious because rats dont have periods. But do you think this is a uti? I hope. She doesnt have blood in her urine. She is bleeding from her vagina and her genitals are rather swollen. Not as bad as they were Friday. I know she has only been on the meds for 3 days but with a uti how long does it take the bleeding to stop? And also she is straining like she needs to poop but cant get it out. Any advice if you have dealt with this would be appreciated. But regardless if she doesnt get any better she IS going back to the vet. I mean she may have to have an emergency spay. I dont want this because she isnt a young rat anymore and I just hope if this is what needs to be done that I will have all the money for this. 10 points for most helpful answer.
