Is "Blacks against Obama" a racist term?!!?
My college will not allow a Black Republicans Association union (which I'm a member of) to display a poster with the heading "Blacks Against Obama" because, we're told, it's "racially motivated!" Does this breach our constitutional rights? Granted, it's attention grabbing, but that's what we want - we want a sensible debate, too many black folks I've spoken to support Obama for no real reason other than his skin color and that goes against everything people like Martin Luther King Jr and Booker T. Washington worked their lives for.
Are they allowed to do this?
2 AntwortenOther - Cultures & Groupsvor 1 JahrzehntThese girls won't leave me alone; its making me really miserable. what can I do?
I moved to the United States from France because of my Dads work and beside from a two weeks at the beginning, my time here has been miserable. A group of girls have been making my time at school terrible for no reason except me being French. I was fine at the beginning, but then it changed. 2 boys had asked me out in the second week of school; I’d said I was just getting settled but doing something as friends would be nice. This seemed to set these girls off on me; they started making comments about me being what they say ‘easy’ but I was just asked, that’s it. When I speak they mock my accent, I hate speaking in class because I can hear their laughing. Sometimes I’ll say something in French by mistake, and they’re always there to tell me to speak English before I can correct myself. It’s hard to speak in a second language all the time and this makes it much harder.
If I’m walking in the corridor, they’ll kick my heel to try to trip me up. I’ve always liked fashion, but I never wear anything now except plain clothes and I never wear dresses anymore, because they always take my clothes as an excuse to mock something about it being French.
I’ve met some nice people here, but these girls are making it impossible for me to enjoy anything. I’m afraid to tell a teacher because I think they won’t do anything because I’m foreign. has anyone been in a situation like this? how can i deal with this and stop it happening? thanks for any advise

2 AntwortenSingles & Datingvor 1 JahrzehntI feel so down because of this teacher! how can I get over this?
hi, this is really embarrassing but I have this French language teacher who takes us and I've really reallly fancied her since she started a few months back. She's from France and still looks young, i honestly dont think ive evever seen anyone looks as crazy beautiful, and her is voice. i focus really hard on my French because of this, I used to literally not be able to speak around her, i used to just freeze if she got too close; my best girl friend used to laugh and nudge me when i did it, so it must have been obvious, but i'm ok with staying calm now and speaking out. i get butterflies, literally, when its time for her class. but started back after Christmas and she told us two days she would be leaving in two weeks as she's going back to France and I've felt reallly reeally down ever since. I know this sounds reeeeeeeally sad of me and I couldn't tell anyone but this is a real thing I can't get rid of and it feels really bad. i fee like being sick or something. why do i feel like this? how can i get rid of these feelings???
6 AntwortenFriendsvor 1 JahrzehntIs this innappropriate for a Male Teacher to say?!!?
okay so my boyfriend has this megacrush on a female teacher of ours (i dont care, it's not like he's going to run away with her!) but he told me he was talking to his PE teacher about her (just the 2 of them its not like it was a group discussion!) i dunno how it came about but he mentioned her and the male teacher laughed and was like “you just concentrate on your work” and my bf something like “she’s really hot” and the teacher laughed and was like “yes, and she’s also teaching you French. Let me let you into a little secret; we all have crushes on an attractive teacher when we’ve 14 years old. Just don’t tell her that; and focus on your work.”
is that completely innappropriate for a teacher to say about another teacher to a student?! my boyfriend said all this like it was a positive thing and not a big deal, but when I heard it I thought that female teacher wouldn't be happy, or least its not appropriate conversation!! am i being stupid or does this seems like something he should NOT be saying??

i'm not an angry person but recently ive been getting really angry at how my girlfriend is dressing up. it's not like she dresses like a hoe or anything, but if she's wearing like tops or bottoms that are too clingy or something like that i get p'ssd off and think other guys are looking at. just before the break there our school had a school that it has every year, like a talent show thing, she was singing and wearing this top that showed her abdomin, just above her bellybutton, it has sleeves but i was sitting there with other ppl from my class trying not to look at her cuz i knew everyone else was looking at her. i said to her afterwards, 'what the hell is that?' pointing to her top and she was just like 'i'll wear whatever I want'. i've told her i dont like other guys looking at her, but she's just said that's something i need to work on cuz it's not her doing anything. and thats why im asking this. she's right, isn't she?? i want to be able to just chill and not get worked up. i try to just breath and say its okay but i get really boiled up over this. had anyone been like this?

hi yea this is really embarrassing but just before the break we were walking back to our changing rooms from PE and there was this girl who i think's really hot in front of me, i know this sounds real bad but i was looking at her butt as she was walking in front of me cuz she was wearing shorts, before i knew i was like oh crap and realised i had an erection, i tried covering it up with my arm because i was wearing shorts, but we bumped into a group leaving the canteen in the corridor and she was pressed up against me, i tried to move but i literally couldnt go anywhere and "it" pressed up against the side of her leg/butt - she turned a little and looked down to see what it was then we started walking again. i start back soon and i feel so embarrassed about it and didnt mean it 2 happen. do u think she thinks im a freak, will i be able to speak 2 her normally again??
5 AntwortenSingles & Datingvor 1 JahrzehntDid I ruin my chances with this girl? Please help =(?
Hi; so yea there's this new girl in my school who I've developed a huge crush on since she came. im not usually the nervous type, but everytime I'm near her my heart starts fast and my nerves go like crazy. I know this sounds really bad but I even broke up with my girlfriend because I planned on asking this girl out and didn't think it fair to be stringing my ex along (not guessing this other girl would say no, which she prob would). Just before the break, I did something I think has ruined everything. I was in the library walking out, I didn't know but she was coming the other way and I ended up knocking her book over, we'd both went down to get it and when I saw her face up-close I just blurted out 'your beautiful' all I could say was sorry, I've never been more nervous/embarrassed in my life, she laughed a little and said 'its fine I've been called worse", so i thought it wasn't a complete disaster, but then I made it one - she asked me my name and I said "Michael, I mean Sean". I said my middle name for a reason I'll never know. she said "hi Michael I mean Sean" and introduced herself (I already knew of course) she asked where I was going, said Merry Christmas, just small talk, then I went on my way - i have a mental image of her just turning and laughing when I walked away thinking i was a freak. has anyone been like this? do u think its a lost cause or could i make up for it? any advise is appreciated as im starting back soon. thanks, and happy New Year :)
