An 18 year old friend asked me out to a dinner/movie date, and yes, he's made it established that it's a romantic date.

He just informed me that his mom is driving us, and since he doesn't want her waiting in the car while we have a fun time, she'll be joining us for dinner.

I'd hate to sound shallow, but it's not like he can't drive, he definitely has a license. His mom just "doesn't trust" him with the car. I like him enough to go out with him, but would I even be in the right to say that I'm not comfortable going on a date if his mom's going to be there? I just figured mothers stopped chaperoning dates by the time you can drive on your own.

Okay hear me out.

When I wake up, my stomach is actually pretty flat. If I don't eat all day, it'll usually stay like that.

But no matter what I eat (or drink!) it'll grow to maybe three times the size or more. I know when your stomach gets filled up, it gets a little bigger, but I can swear this is not normal.

I ate a few grapes for breakfast the other day, and it physically looked like I just came from a friggen buffet. My stomach will literally hang off the top of my underwear if I drink a glass of water. And worse, if I don't exercise immediately after a meal or pop a few TUMS, it feels physically uncomfortable. If I drink a glass of water, I'll feel so bloated that I almost get sick unless I work out or take some TUMS. But even then, the bloating doesn't go completely away. It sticks around all day, but it's gone the next morning. I have to wear super stretchy clothes because I can fluctuate from a size 8 to a size 12.

Please help, it's been nothing but an obstacle.

We've been exclusively dating for about 3-4 months but he finally made it official a couple of days ago...

We always talked about how badly we wanted to see Book of Mormon, and he managed to get ahold of tickets miraculously. About 2 months back, he invited me to go see the musical, and he said he'd get back to me with the details (Exact date, transportation, time, etc.)

Last month, I asked if we were still on and he said that he hadn't worked out the details and that he'd get back to me. I felt kinda selfish for asking considering they were his tickets but I wanted to know if he still wanted me to go.

I went online to see that not only did he go tonight, but he took another girl, my best friend...and I'm kind of jealous. I know I shouldn't be, I mean they are his tickets, but I kinda figured he'd want to go with his girlfriend rather than his girlfriend's best friend and not tell me about it.

I'm actually pretty peeved about it. Do I even have the right to be jealous? Should I ask him about it? Those two didn't go out on a date, did they?

I've had my betta fish for a little over 4 months.

She's always seemed happy and followed my finger around the tank and loved to play.

She lives in a 5 gallon tank with a heater, a plant, and a cave. About twice a week, I do 25% water change, Do a full water change when I feel its necessary.

I usually fed her Betta pellets and she's always eaten them.

Starting a week ago, she simply refused to eat. She wouldn't eat the pellets, she wouldnt eat the bloodworms. I figured she must be constipated, so I cooked and shelled a frozen pea, but she wouldn't eat that either.

I was told if I fast her for a few days, the problem would solve itself, but she still appears bloated and she won't eat anything.

She doesnt have any white growths or mold on her body. She has lost some color, though. Also she appears to be bloated and is extremely sluggish. All she does is float around the top of the tank, every now and then hide in her little cave.

What could be wrong with my Betta fish and what can I do to help her?

My father was arrested about 5 months ago due to some kind of business fraud, and they've relocated him all over the country. Finally, he's going to be visiting Oregon, which is about a 2 hour flight from here, but my mom won't let me see him. I'm a 16 year old girl and my grandparents swear he's been writing me, but I never got any letters and as it turns out, my mom is hiding all of them. I found the stash. She won't let me write him or keep in any contact with him. They've been divorced since I was 3, and we usually spent every weekend together, but I haven't seen him in so long, he was practically like my best friend, and he's facing potentially 30 years in prison. This might be one of my only chances to see him again. And to make matters worse, my step-dad is trying to press a restraining order against him on my behalf, which I have no say in since I'm a minor. He was genuinely a great father, he's never done anything to harm me or my sister. What should I do to convince my mom to let me see my dad?

I'm 16, and We just recently went to Victoria's Secret to figure out what bra size I was, because my mom said it looked like I was squeezing myself into a bra that was too small. Turns out that I've been wearing a bra 2 sizes too small, and I'm really a 36DD.

Well, now that we know my real bra size, my mom won't let me wear what I want. I really hate shirts and pants and sneakers, and so my entire wardrobe is stocked with dresses. That's what I wear all the time, I own maybe two shirts, a pair of jeans, and a pair of sneakers. The rest is dresses, panty hoes, and Mary Janes. But apparently since I'm now a 36DD, that means that I can't wear dresses anymore because "women with DD's just don't wear dresses, because they know it makes them look slutty."

My mom is now planning on taking me out shopping to buy sports bras that will pin my boobs to my chest, and replace my dresses with t-shirts to make sure that absolutely no cleavage will show. The dresses I wear show absolutely no cleavage, I promise that 99% of the time, my dresses almost reach up to my collarbone. She even yelled at me until I cried while I was wearing a T-shirt because even though my chest was completely covered up to my neck, my boobs still looked "too big" and then she told me that everything I wear makes me look slutty because of my breast size, and that if they keep growing ill have to consider breast reduction surgery. I don't want to get surgery, it's not like I have any back problems and my boobs aren't hurting me, it'd just be unnecessary!

Do you think my mom is blowing this out of proportion? She didn't think my dresses looked slutty when she thought I was a C cup, and now she's making me throw them all out and wear Tshirts and jeans, but she refuses to pay for them because they're not her clothes! Sorry if this doesn't sound like a very big deal, but I really love my dresses, and I don't want to pay for a whole new wardrobe that I don't even want, let alone get a breast reduction at 16

This has happened 3 different times, with 3 different guys. Why am I stood up when they're the ones who asked me out in the first place?

The first one happened about 4 months ago. He asked me out and told me he would pick me up at my house the next day at 6pm, we said goodnight, and I ended up waiting at home until I realized that he wasn't coming. The next day he simply messaged me on Facebook (Yeah, you heard me, Facebook.) telling me, "Sorry, couldn't make it."

The next one happened about a month ago by a different guy, I was supposed to meet him at a movie theater after he asked me out 3 days prior. I waited for 45 minutes by myself until I realized he wasn't coming and left. He texted me a few hours later telling me something along the lines of, "Sorry, forgot I had to meet you today."

The last time it happened was 3 days ago. He wanted to go to this bowling alley and said he'd meet me there. I waited for an hour by myself, called him a few times (They all went to voicemail), but I finally drove home. He texted me back today finally, saying "I'm so sorry, turns out I couldn't make it."

I feel like this has to be my fault somehow, right? I can't imagine what I could've done in a 1-3 day period to make them change their minds. It's not like I talked to any of those guys /that much/ between them asking me and the date-that-never-was, one brief text-message chat at most. What exactly am I doing wrong?

My birthday is in a few days, and I don't have any plans yet!

Everyone I know already has plans with their boyfriend/girlfriend, a few of them are out of town.

I'm basically dirt poor, so it's not like I have any money to spend on renting a place.

I'm single too, so it's not like I can go on a special date or anything.

Gahh, someone teach me how to be a teenager! What do girls normally do for their 16th birthday?

I'm doing an assignment, and I need to know a few things about a High School teaching career.

Do teachers need any prior training before becoming a teacher? Any type of internships?

How would you describe the dress code in the teaching career?

Do you need a license to practice? If so, what type of license?

How many vacations/benefits are teachers granted?

I had oral surgery 2 days ago, and while it hurt for awhile, there was no swelling until this morning. I woke up and one side of my face was red and puffy and my eye was bruised. The one eye is tearing alot, too. The swollen part is pretty numb. It's hard to see out of one eye because the area is so inflamed. Should I be worried? I don't need to go to the emergency room or anything, do I? How do I get rid of the swelling?

I got a text from my boyfriend this morning, simply saying "Hiya"

He said something was bothering him, and it eventually got down to admitting that he's in love with his ex girlfriend, and wants to break up. I didnt know what I could do, I just had to grin and bear it.

I guess you could say that I'm not handling it well. See, I had a mad crush on him all year, since I had moved here. We were great friends after that and we really opened up to each other. I figured I was in the friend zone for a long time, until I just recently told him I liked him. Which is weird for me-I would never, in a thousand years, tell a guy that I liked him, but I guess I just in a spontaneous mood. Anyways, he told me he liked me back and we started dating for a few weeks, that is, until this morning. I wouldn't have been taking it so hard if he had just simply dumped me, but no, he dumped me for another girl. Which...hurts, because my worst fear was not being good enough for him.

What do I do now, guys? I've never had to deal with a breakup like this. He keeps texting me, so its not like I can ignore him so easily? Im really trying not to be a baby about this, but can you imagine having a crush on someone all year and finally getting a chance with them, and then they leave you for their ex? What now, guys?

I did a very immature thing. It was stupid and I feel awful about it.

My mom won't let me date until I'm 16. She is /very/ strict on this rule. I'm 15 years old, and I've been seeing someone for 3 months. The thing is, I've only met him once. A friend of mine met him online, his dad takes a business trips down here every summer, my boyfriend comes with his dad on said business trip, and that's how we first met-last summer, while hanging out with my friend. We continued to Skype and text after he left, and we starting dating somewhere along the line. For Christmas, we decided to send each other letters, since we live on opposite sides of the country.

It was a very sappy, sentimental letter and I kept it in a hiding place in my room, so my mom couldn't find it. My mother is crazy. Im going to go ahead and quote every teenage girl right now, but my mother /is/ crazy. She literally does not trust me with anything. She gets friends mothers to stalk my Facebook. She has formed an alliance with my older sister, who tells her /everything/ that's going on in my life. She constantly forces Christianity on me even though I keep trying to ignore her. I respect that she has her own beliefs, but she's the kind of Christian who insists that the world is 6000 years old and Atheists worship the devil. She is intolerant of gays and black people. She keeps telling my younger sister that I'm a lesbian and has accused me multiple times of being one, yelling and screaming. Just for the record, I'm completely straight, but I guess she doesn't seem to believe that.

Anyways, back to the issue. This is my first boyfriend. Maybe it will last and maybe it won't, but for the time being, I really like him. My mom decided to clean my room today...She never does that, ever. Ever. In fact, I don't even know why she did it. But the letter in the envelope from my long-distance romance is /not/ in its hiding place. I've looked frantically in all the places it could possibly be, but it's not in my room, and it's not in any of her favorite places.

I haven't had an anxiety attack since I was 13, and now I can't even control my quick, panicked breathing or my incessant shaking that's going on. I dont know what to do. If she really did find this letter, and if she is likely reading it right now, I might be kicked out of the house. That, or she'll never let me leave this house as she screams right in my face. You don't know how frightening she gets when she's pissed off enough. This sounds awful, but I'd rather die than deal with the consequences that I cant even tell you about. The letter is gone. I've done a stupid thing, and it's all my fault. What do I do?

Our school is putting on a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and all of the cast members are making advertisements for our friends at other schools and what not. We need something really funny, for example, one person has already done:

NIP SLIPS, FAIRY SLUTS, TALKING TREES, A BRAWL, BEASTILITY, SUCKY ACTORS, CROSS DRESSING, AND A LITTLE BIT OF MAGIC ALL AT EL CAMINO HIGH SCHOOL.

Obviously, I can't steal this idea as it has already been made. If you guys know the plot, I need you to come up with a funny or cute advertisement to get people's attention. Thanks :)

My Grandma has this thing where she likes to get all her shopping done early. Even though it's not even Halloween yet, mom says that we need to send out our Christmas wish lists by tomorrow. I have /no/ idea what I want. She tells me that if I don't send them out tomorrow, I'm getting nothing. I already know exactly what I'm getting everyone else, but I can't think of anything. If you guys could help me out, I would be ever so grateful.

Here are some notes, and things I love, to spark ideas:

- I. Love. Disney. (especially Disney Princesses)

- I love Broadway plays/Musicals

- I have a pixie cut, so I can't really ask for any hair stuff.

- There aren't any good musicals coming out in December-January, meaning I can't ask for tickets to anything

-Grandma does /not/ go online shopping...Im not even sure if she knows that the internet exists.

- I have more perfume and body lotions than I can handle right now

- I already have all the makeup I could possibly need

- I would like to learn how to sew costumes and such

- I don't usually wear anything other than dresses, but my grandmother is terrible at picking out clothes (As much as I love her, she can't pick out things for other people.)

Please help me with my first-world problem...it's so hard being in the middle class, am I right? ;)

Auditions for a small production of Legally Blonde are coming up, and I have /no/ idea what to audition with.

If you guys can think of any good show tunes (Show tunes /only/, please! No regular songs) and/or short monologues that would be appropriate for an audition for this musical, it would help a lot!

I'm 15 years old, and I got my first period when I was about 12. I thought that after two years, you're supposed to be regular. My friends and the women in my family get it the same time every month, but it's been 3 years! Every month, I still tend to get the symptoms, even though I don't get my period /every/ month. Do I need to see a gynecologist or something, because my mom says that it's not normal to be so irregular.

I promise, it's not some weird attempt to "get boys". In all honesty, I need to get on a train with my little sister, but they won't let me ride alone with her unless I'm 18. No, I'm not going to wear trashy clothes, but if you have any tips on makeup or hair, or even mannerisms, that would be lovely!

My mom and dad were married for about 9 years until they divorced in 2002. Dad never slept in the same bed as my mom, and rarely "slept" with her. He likes getting his nails done with my sister and I (Clear coat, of course), and the way he talks kind of has that "flamboyant" tone to it. He wears this sabre-tooth tiger tooth necklace on his neck, and goes to gay bars with his friends, who I know for a fact are straight. He doesn't have a girlfriend, and he says he doesn't want one, nor does he ever want to get married. He insists he's tolerant of gay people, but he acts kind of homophobic at times. Even my mom says she always sort of suspected him of being gay, or at least gay. I don't know, does he sound gay?

This has been going on for at least a year...It keeps saying that "The iPod software update server could not be contacted." And that my internet connection probably isn't working, but It's been working completely fine for as long as I can remember. This is pissing me off, too, because I have never even been on the iTunes store because it won't let me connect. What do I do? :(

I stubbed it on my couch, and I immediately fell to the floor in pain. I tried not to cry...I don't usually cry out of pain or injuries, but it felt like my whole leg was on fire. I mean, the pain was piercing my whole foot and all up my thigh.

I've tried icing it and taping it, taking ibuprofen and elevating it, but my whole foot is swollen and has BEEN swollen like this for two days. I literally cannot put any pressure on my foot (even just poking it hurts) without it hurting...Have I broken or fractured my toe? :(
