Just installed a ceiling fan/light in bedroom. They turn on/off when using chain-pulls but not with wall switch. I know wall switch works 'cause it operated the light fixture which I replaced. Did I mess up the wiring somehow? There are two sets of black & white wires coming out of the ceiling. Originally I connected one white to white, black to black & capped the other set. Worked with pulls, not with switch. Went back in & connected all 3 whites & all 3 blacks...same thing.

What's the proper wiring to get the wall switch to operate the fan?

Looking to relocate to FL from CT but do not want to rent a truck 'cause I won't need anything that big, plus too $$$. I know many rental companies (UHaul, etc.) rent "cargo vans", but all the ones I've checked are for LOCAL use ONLY & must be returned to location they were rented from. Does anyone know if there's anywhere I can rent a van which can be picked up in one location (state) & dropped off in another?

I know you have to pay "Capital Gains Tax" if you make a profit from the sale of stocks, but are you also obligated to pay "Income Tax"? I just received a CP-200 letter from IRS saying I owe an additional $2,200 in taxes because I sold stock that came to about $10,000 which raised my income from $30,000 to $40,000. I am confused by this because technically the stock was purchased with "income" that I'd ALREADY paid taxes on, so why would I be required to pay taxes on it again? (Sort of like selling your car for $10,000, would that also be considered "additional income" & subject to taxes?

I remember a time when R&P had some really interesting/cool questions. Now it seems that 90 per cent of the questions are, "What's the name of this song?" Besides, don't these people have any "LIVE" friends that they can ask, instead of trying to explain to us, "It goes na na nana na na na...anybody know what song that is?"
