Trying to play minecraft and will not work in the slightest, tried reinstalling everything, and drivers for everything on my laptop has been updated, The problem is as follows:

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and a Toshiba Regza tv. I want to connect the two together so i can watch my archive of films and streaming ones, but the laptop only has a VGA output and the TV has Component, Composite and HDMI inputs. I haven't got enough money for a converter and would prefer it to be a cable.
