How to prevent tattoo scarring?
I just got my first tattoo about a week ago, and it has been healing very well- however, I accidentally ripped off a part of the scab on (it got caught on my pantline). How do I prevent this from scarring? Aloe vera is not an option, as I am allergic. I have been applying lotion every day, and there has been no sigh of infection (if that info. is of any use).
Thanks!

I would like to do something sweet for my long distance boyfriend, but I have such a hard time finding something for him that I can afford and that he would enjoy. I was considering sending him a care package with supplies for a personal spa day (bath salts, self- massage device, really relaxing music, etc) but I'm not sure what kind of things men do for themselves to relax (besides drink and play video games) or if this would be too girly for him. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

To whom it may concern:
I am interested in the laboratory technician position advertised at indeed.com. I am currently finishing my bachelor's degree in combined math and science, and am excited to begin my professional career. Though my degree is general, my qualifications are specific: I have been employed in a laboratory setting for several years now, and have taken classes specific to parasitology, microbiology, and entomology. The combination of my education and work experience has equipped me for a professional career in veterinary and medical laboratory science, from diagnostics to research. I have been involved in diagnosing veterinary cases post mortem, from which I have learned good specimen handling techniques and safety. This includes experience with zoonotic diseases, and possible contamination with toxins. I have also been involved in research projects, specifically in identifying new viruses and developing new diagnostic techniques.
In addition, I am an excellent leader and team player; I have been involved in the Entomology Club at the Univeristy of Wyoming, which has afforded me experience in teaching scientific concepts to nonscientific personnel, as well as event organization.
I believe that my skill set and experience make me a highly qualified applicant for your laboratory technician position. To emphasize my background, I have attached my resume. Thank you for considering me for this position, and I look forward to discussing my employment with you.
Sincerely,

1 AntwortMathematicsvor 9 JahrenWondering about ADD- a bit long, but if you are knowledgeable please read?
I have been a good student for most of my life, but recently my grades have begun slipping. I am wondering if it is possible that I have ADD- and of course I have done some reading on the subject, but there are a few things that just don't add up for me.
It has occurred to me that for most of my educational career, I have been in very small classes and have had very friendly relationships with teachers. I have always finished my work very quickly, and then been allowed to do whatever I wanted for the rest of the lesson. Now that I am at University, this is not the case; not only am I not finished right away, I also need to stay for the duration of the lesson- anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on the class. This seems to be getting more and more difficult- no matter how much I want to learn, I simply cannot focus. I have an attention span of about 5 minutes- and then it's over, I may as well not even be there. In classes that were easy this wasn't so much a problem, but now I'm almost finished with my degree and I can hardly even study. I stay up all night to get work done, and something that should take me 2 hours will take me 12. Not because it is difficult, simply because I am doing 15- not even kidding- things at once. I have crashed my computer for all of the programs I have running at the same time; it feels like I have crashed my brain. Of course I can't remember much of what I did study, because multitasking simply doesn't work- but, I can't focus. I will stare at a page for hours, fidgeting, trying to read, and I just can't. I am highly literate, but I can hardly read three paragraphs at a time. I NEED something else happening- music, to draw, anything- but, as you can imagine, neither is exactly conducive to trying to read.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm going insane- I know that I am intelligent and more than capable of learning; for heaven's sake, I have secured for myself two highly coveted positions in laboratories, and do the work very well. It usually involves movement, or I am required to do multiple things at once, but I do it well.
Of the research I have done, I do seem to have some of the symptoms, but not all- especially not the emotional symptoms. I am not particularly thin skinned, and even when I am angry or sad I am able to think through it and reason it out. So, the question is- is it possible that I have ADD, even without the emotional symptoms? Or perhaps I have just gotten lazy? Should I bother seeing a professional, or is it just in my head (pun intended, of course)?

I'm in a pretty serious long distance relationship, and would really like to do something special this year for my special guy. The only problem is, Valentine's day is so expensive- and I am putting myself through college, so money is pretty tight. If anybody has some ideas for a romantic day as together as we can get while being apart, then please share! I am already going to write him a letter- snail mail:) I just want to do something more- something really awesome.
He likes video games and working out; he is interested in current events. He also pretty much has everything he needs already, and doesn't have much space for material clutter- especially cheep material clutter :P

1 AntwortValentine's Dayvor 9 Jahrenhelp me with this math test?
The test is already graded, but i'm not sure why I was wrong on the following questions:
1a) write an equation of the graph of y=e^x reflected in the x-axis, expanded by a factor of 4, shifted 2 right, and 6 up.
y=4e^(-x-2)+6
b) state the horizontal asymptote: y=6
5a) given f(x)=x^4-5x^3-3x^2+10 and g(x)=x-1, use synthetic division to divide f(x) by g(x)
+1|1 -5 -3 10
1 -6 3
1 -6 3 7
b) state the associated quotient
x^3-6x^2+3x+3
c) state the associated remainder
7
6a) rationalize the denominator: (sqrt(5+h)-sqrt5)/(sqrt(5+h)+sqrt5)
h/(10+h)
6c) factor: 4(3x-1)^(1/3)(x+2)+(3x-1)^(4/3)
4(3x-1)(x+2)
9a) reduce:(x^2+2x-15)/(x^2-7x+12)
9x with -27 as a remainder
b)multiply and simplify: (2-x)/(x+1) * (x^2+3x+2)/(x^2-4)
(-x^3-x^2+4x+4)/(x^3+x^2-4x-4)
c)subtract and simplify. leave the numerator and the denominator in your answer in factored form. (x-2)/(x^2+3x-10) - (x-3)/(x^2-x-6)
((x-2)(x^2-x-6) - (x-3)(x^2+3x-10))/((x^2+3x-10)(x^2-x-6))
((x-2) - (x-3))/1
(x-2-x+3)/1
1/1=1
10)Solve by rewriting both sides as powers of the same base: 2^(x^2)=8^(2x) *(1/256)
x^2*ln2=2xln8+ln(1/256)
x=2.773, x=2
13) simplify and write your answer without negative exponents: ((4x^-2)/(2*cubert(x)*y^5)) *(x^4 *x^8 *y^8)
(4x^6*y^5)/(8xy^5)
14)solve: t- sqrt(3t+6)=-2
t^2-3t+6=4
t=2, t=1
please include step- by- step instructions:)
thank you!

1 AntwortChemistryvor 10 Jahrenwhat should i do with it?
I broke up with my ex boyfriend about a year ago now- and I'm very happy with that decision. The only problem is, I have been cleaning my room and have found a box of things he gave to me- ranging from love letters to mementos. I need to get rid of it- I want to get rid of it. Throwing it all away seems a bit irreverent (he isn't a bad guy or anything) and giving it away seems an unlikely solution (who would want a rose dipped in gold)? So, I leave it to you: what should I do with it?

I need these answers to my math test; it has already been graded, but I don't understand why some of my answers are wrong (I only know that they are) or what the correct answer is.
1) Given the function f(x)=(2x^2)+3x, determine each of the following:
a) f(x+h)
(2x^2)+4xh+(2h^2) +3x+3h
b)f(x+h)-f(x)
4xh+(2h^2)+3h
c) (f(x+h)-f(x))/h

2. a coffee wholesaler wants to blend a coffee containing 35% chicory with a coffee containing 15% chicory to produce a 500 kg blend of coffee containing 18% chicory. How much of each type is required? write an expression to solve this problem. Then solve the expression and write a sentence to answer the question.
5.667x(.15) + x(.35)=500(.18)
= .85x+.35x=90
x=75
To get 500kg of 18% chicory coffee, you would need to mix 425 kg of .15% chicory with 75kg 35% chicory.
3. given that f(x)= 2x+1 and g(x)= (2x^2)-3, evaluate:
a) (f-g)(2)

b) (f at g)(0)
i got -5
c) (f/g)(1)
i got -3
d) (fg)(3)

given f(x)= (2x)/(√(4-x^2)), find
a) f(0)
b) f(1)
c) f(2)
d) f(-2)
e) f(-x)
the answers I get are as follows:
a) 2(0)/√(4-0^2) =0
b)2(1)/√(4-1^2) =2/√(5) =2/2.236 =0.894
c)2(2)/√(4-2^2) =4/√0= undefined
d)2(-2)/√(4-(-2^2)) =-4/√0= undefined
e)2(-x)/√(4-(-x^2)) =-2x/(√4+x^2) =-2x/(2+x)
The answers the book says are right:
a) 0
b)(2√3)/3
c)not defined
d)not defined
e)-2x/(√4-x^2)
part B is the one on which I need help; I also would like to know why it is improper to simplify the denominator in part e.
4 AntwortenMathematicsvor 10 JahrenAre my expectations too high?
I realize that we are all humans, and we all have different strengths and weaknesses. I also realize that I am not perfect- but, I would like some things in a man (or woman) that seem to be simple common sense to me. Still, I seem to be unable to find what I am looking for (in fact, I tend to attract quite the opposite) and am beginning to wonder if my expectations are simply too high. The things I would like in a partner are:
1. Ambition- money doesn't matter (I'm not looking for a sugar daddy) but it would be nice to have somebody who wants to make something of themselves.
2. Intelligence- I know its cliche, but I truly do need a partner who can challenge me. I like to learn, and I like to discuss. I need somebody who can do this with me.
3. Sense of humor- I need somebody to laugh with! I see so much humor in the world, and I'm tired of being looked at crossways when nobody else gets the joke.
4. Open mind- without an open mind, true learning cannot take place. I need somebody who isn't afraid of what they don't understand, and who is willing to explore.
5.Respect- If a person doesn't respect me, then I cannot have a healthy relationship with him or her. I need an equal- not a provider, and certainly not somebody to hold my hand and lead me.
6. Trust- If a person can't trust me, then there is no basis for a relationship. Yes, trust is earned; however, if I am being constantly cross- examined then I end up frustrated and fed up. Boundaries are important- so no, reading through my phone and email is not alright.
7. Chemistry- I need a person to whom I am attracted; I don't mean I want a muscle- bound man or a model thin woman; I just want somebody with whom I have a definite attraction.
8. Sense of adventure- I need somebody who isn't afraid of getting his or her hands dirty. I like to go play outside- with bugs, mud, and sweat. I don't want a house plant.
9. Self- sufficient- I need somebody who can take care of him or herself; I am not a nanny, a mother, or a nursemaid. I can't stand Velcro- men; If you can't handle a night alone every now and again, then I am not the person for you.
None of this is something I cannot offer myself; I don't ask anything I am not willing to reciprocate. Still, I'm beginning to wonder if such a person really exists. I continuously run into possessive, controlling, jealous, and insecure men who are looking for a mother or a pet. I need a person who is big on their own, without having to diminish me.
So, the big question remains: am I asking for too much?

2 AntwortenPhysicsvor 1 Jahrzehntguinea pig has stopped eating and drinking?
I have no idea how old this animal is exactly, but i think he is about 2-3 years old. I got him as a rescue animal, and have had him for only a few months. In that time, he has seemed just fine; he is good natured, and has always been active and had a good appetite. He has also had dry skin, but no hair loss, no itching, and no other signs of illness. Yesterday he stopped eating and drinking, and won't even touch his favorite foods. I have always made sure to provide a steady diet of fresh fruits, veggies, and hay alongside the pellets (pig- specific). There is no other outward sign of illness; he is still active, talkative, and shows no signs of distress. I haven't started hand- feeding, but if he doesn't eat on his own within the next few hours then I will have to. The usual culprits don't seem to be present- no wheezing or respiratory distress, his teeth are fine, no watery eyes or discharge, no impaction, not even a fever... I am at a loss. Any suggestions? he has stopped pooping, and I am getting concerned.
