  • Do you know who sings this song?

I've heard it a couple of times over the work radio so I have no way of finding it out, it's a female singer who sounds very similar to Beyonce/Solange Knowles, an upbeat pop song

and it goes something like who do you love now? or who's gonna love you/me now? i can't remember :\

and then the backing singers go "all those nights i've been breaking down" "all those nights i've been _____"

you either know it or you don't because it's such a vague description, i really hope someone can help, i just really like the song!

  • is my navel piercing infected (pic)?

I got this done on Monday, for the first 3 days I cleaned twice a day with a saline solution and since then have been spraying daily with Savlon wound wash. I know it's only been 5 days and I should expect it to be sore and red but there's just something that I don't feel is quite right. Maybe I'm being paranoid?

  • This is my life, what do I do next?

This is fairly lengthy but please bear with me as time is running out to make my decision.

I'm a 19 year old female living in Leeds. I moved here just over a year ago from York to go to University. 3 months in I didn't like my course so I decided to quit. However, I met my boyfriend in Leeds and he didn't want me to go back to York. I took the risk and I moved in with him into his mum's house. In June of this year, I found a full time job so we moved into a house share together. It's a job in a kids activity centre. Very hard work for very little pay. Dropping out of uni and working here has made me realise I want to make something of myself, do better for myself. I decided I was interested in becoming a midwife and I can study midwifery at University. However, this would mean I had to drop out of full time work so here's the dilemma:

If I go to Leeds University:

-I drop out of full time work

-My boyfriend (who has agreed to) pays the rent and bills

-This situation is realistic but would put a strain on our relationship and I can see us arguing over money

-If we did break up then that leaves me with no choice but to move back to York with my parents and commute to Leeds University which would be a pain.

If I study at York University:

-I drop out of full time work in Leeds

-Move back to York with my parents (leaving behind my life in Leeds but I have friends in York too)

-I break up with my boyfriend (as he has said from the start he can't "do" long distance)

-I can live in York rent free, use the car and basically life would be more stress free just a heck of a lot lonelier

I love my boyfriend so much, I really do. I want us to be together and I want to believe him when he says he can support me but my boyfriend has racked up a lot of debt in the past which I helped him out with, his attitude to money just isn't mature and if I was unemployed in education I would be very concerned for my financial stability with him paying the bills.

Recently I've been having a niggling doubt in my mind and everything he does recently annoys me. I hate it when he tickles me where I don't like. You know when it just hurts? Man, I get so annoyed and I tell him to F*CK off and he does NOT take me seriously. Never has done, never will. Always takes it too far, never learns. I wonder whether he's worth it? I have to scrimp and save to get by and carry on my lifestyle but my boyfriend earns more than me and I'm resentful of the fact I can never treat myself to new clothes and things while he can splurge his money on junk food, takeaways and video games. I love my boyfriend but I know he's not the most important thing in my life but we've been together a long time now (my longest relationship ever) and just thinking about not having him in my life really hurts.

Anyway, if you made it all the way down to the bottom I appreciate you reading this so much. Please tell me what you would do and why. I'm really caught up and don't know what's best for myself.

  • I have Russian Dwarf hamsters that bite?

I've had my Russian Dwarf hamsters for 8 months. When I first bought them I didn't handle them very much and now when I put my hand in their cage to take them out they nibble/bite at my hand. They don't bite when they're out the cage in my hands.

Is there a way to train them to stop biting me when I put my hand in their cage? I'm scared of my own little hamsters hurting me :(

  • What would you do about this job situation?

I am currently studying in Leeds and my hometown is York (20 minutes away on the train). When I left for university my previous employment (New Look) said I could work for them during christmas from Dec 11 - Jan 11 but I handed out a few CVs and today I had an interview for Game.

However, it's only a christmas temp job but if I got the job I would start straight away. This is the dilemma:

If I get the job do I take it and commute to York in that month I go back home (it will cost about £7-£8 return on a train) in the hope that a more permanent job comes of it?

Have had new nokia 5800 for almost couple months. However the vibrating mechanism has messed up. It sounds as if when it is vibrating there is something rattling inside my phone. Bad times.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem and how was the issue resolved?

  • Holidaying in Kos, would like your suggestions!?

Me and my friends (mix of lads and lasses - who will all be 18 at time of travel) have decided Kos, Greece as our destination to party it up abroad.

I was just wondering if anyone had stayed in a hotel that they would recommend which was cheap and preferably close to the major nightlife. If you could tell me what it was called and why you loved it that'd be great! Thank you :)

  • A French Translation?

    How would I say:

The party (as in - political party) played on the anxieties of the public about immigration.

I'm asking because I'm positive a literal translation of this sentence would not make sense in French so any idiomatic translation would be great.

    Thank you

  • A small French translation please?

    My sentence is

Pendant le dix-neuvième siècle, la majorité des étrangers sont venus des pays voisins comme l’Italie, l’Espagne, la Belgique et la Pologne...

and I would like to follow on to say "...who were attracted by the opportunities...etc" but I am not very good with imperfect tense and was wondering if someone could tell me how I would say 'who were attracted' in French or any other literal translation.

    Merci beaucoup!

  • Why are ethnic minorities disadvantaged when it comes to technology?

According to Ofcom, 42% don't have internet access compared to 35% national average. Why do you think this is?

The answer is mainly for coursework but I'm very interested to see what others have to say. Do you think it's to do with culture or wealth?

  • Is there a benefits system in France?

I think everyone is aware of the current situation in the UK where you can apply for benefits if you are temporarily unemployed, unable to work or just too god damn lazy to get a job.

But I'm doing an essay on French Immigration and wondered if the French has any sort of equivalent scheme to the UK in terms of benefits for the unemployed.
