we recently moved into a new house, and when i tried to set up my friends xbox for wireless (since he is techniqually illeterate), it found our network, that is WPA password protected, as an WEP password protected network. So obviously, whatever password i use for my WPA, doesnt work.

Any thoughts as to why it does this? the wireless adapter he is using is a bigger black one, not the small white one ive seen everywhere ive gone to find this online.

i tried to input all the parameters of the internet manually (IP address, etc.) since the one it found automatically was wrong to begin with. and still nothing.

what am i doing wrong? and what should i do to get it going?

I want to change my username, but i dont want to set up a new account, all i have is the one, main account set up.

but i cant find anyplace to do this?

I have an 8 gb PNY thumb drive, and have put some excel files on it, but when i try to open them, the file is corrupted. Why would this be? And do you have any suggestion as to how i could remedy this?

It has only started to do this recently also.
