Kanada ist ja aus Kyoto ausgestiegen. Die Medien sprechen davon, dass Kanada "Strafzahlungen" vermeiden wollte, aber stimmt das wirklich?

Ich vermute, dass gemeint ist, dass Kanada CO2-Zertifikate von anderen Ländern hätte kaufen müssen, um seine Bilanz auszugleich. Muss ein Land wirklich "Strafe zahlen" wie ein Falschparker, wenn es seine Emissionesreduktionsziele nicht einhält, oder wird das in den Schlagzeilen verdummt?

Since AFAIK this can happen to any two orbiting objects would earth be tidally locked to the sun in the far future? Frying one side and freezing the other side? If yes, what are the estimates of when thsi would happen?

Mich würde interessieren, ob Bier früher auch eine Schaumkrone hatte, oder ob das eine neuzeitliche "Erfindung" ist.

Beim Brauen entsteht ja bekanntlich CO2 und Alkohol, also wird Bier immer schon eine kleine Menge Kohlensäure enthalten haben. Aber heutzutage wird so weit ich weiß zum Einen Kohlensäure zugesetzt und zum Anderen Bier luftdicht verpackt. Daher sollte Bier heutzutage mehr Kohlensäure haben als früher üblich.

Im Zusammenhang mit der HPLC bin ich über den Begriff "Sammelpeak" gestoßen, konnte aber nirgendwo eine genaue Definition dafür finden.

So wie ich das verstehe:

Wenn mehrere Substanzen nicht selektiv aufgetrennt werden erscheinen sie im Chromatogramm als ein Peak. So ein Peak ist ein Sammelpeak weil er quasi eine Sammlung mehrerer Substanzen darstellt.

Frage: Ist dieser Begriff üblich in HPLC-Kreisen? Ist er nur "Laborslang" oder ein Fachbegriff? Und wie würde man auf englisch dazu sagen?

Religious people often argue that religion is the source of morality.

But not doing bad things because you believe that you are watched and judged 24/7 is not moral.

Atheist know that there is no supernatural being watching them and still they dont run around and kill people. Why? Because they are moral.

But where do religious people get their morals from?

"God is real cause it says so in the bible and the bible is true cause it comes from God." The classic circular argument.

So please Christians when you discuss with an atheist do not quote from the bible. its just so pointless.

ID proponents often claim that intelligent design does not require you to accept a supernatural designer.

So do you agree? Are there atheists believing in ID?
