on any topic we choose.

I'm a student of civil engineering (sophomore) at University of Tehran, Iran. My grades are good and I think I can get good grades

for the GRE and TOEFL exams. My sole purpose is to continue my studies in the US or Europe or Australia after I graduate. The problem is that I've

heard from some people that civil engineering is a major that universities are not interested in and they give fellowships and funds

to very few civil engineering graduate students(compared to majors like mechanical and electrical engineering). I've also heard that there are

very few jobs for civil engineers(especially in the US) and that everything has been built in these countries and they don't need civil engineers anymore! Now, are these things true? Can I get a fellowship (if my grades are good) after I graduate?

Please help me!

P.S: I'm good at math and I like subjects in civil engineering that are rich in math (like mechanics or courses like matrix methods of structural analysis)

Yesterday my teacher said that in kinetics,if the angle between the acceleration vector and the speed vector is 90 degrees then the motion is constant and if the angle is less,the speed increases.Why is that?please explain.
