  • Expresscard vs microSD speed comparison?

Is an Expresscard SSD faster than a microSD flash card?

I am looking in the 8GB range if you think that matters.

Just for clarification, I am talking about class 6 microSD.

In case you are wondering what I would use it for, Vista Readyboost and/or fast backup.

And yes, I do know that microSD 8gb class 6 is usually half the price of expresscard SSD 8gb, that is why I want to know if there is any reason to buy expresscard over microSD.

No guessing please, your answer may influence my purchase.

  • Reliable ExpressCard manufacturers?

When I bought my laptop, it came with an ExpressCard/54 slot. After further research, I discovered that there are many laptops that have this hardware capability included. However, my search for ExpressCard/54/34 products has turned up very little. I really want to take advantage of this slot since my 2yo laptop is starting to show early signs of aging. Specifically, I was looking into the small SSD ExpressCard modules in the hopes of adding slightly more storage and better page-file performance.

The ancient relative of the ExpressCard is the old PCMCIA CardBus modules that were common for Ethernet/Dialup expansion.

If you are a newbie to the subject, take a look at the public wiki:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExpressCard

...you might also be interested in the ExpressCard resource list:

    http://www.expresscard.org/web/site/cons_wtb.jsp

While looking through the available upgrades via Express Card technology, I can't help but wonder 3 things:

Are these devices reliable; is there any source you can find or that you know of that suggests these devices are prone to failure?

Is this a dead market; are there simply not enough manufacturers interested in building useful ExpressCard modules?

If you were in my position, would you be willing to take a chance and buy one of these modules?

  • Are Kleptomania and Syllogomania related?

Kleptomania = Stealing on impulse without monetary value in mind.

Syllogomania = Hoarding with no intention of use.

Is there any significant relationship that has been established between these two conditions?

I often thought I had some level of kleptomania as a child, but I never had a psych evaluation because I never stole anything noticeable. I have been diagnosed with some form of OCD in the past, but I don't remember the specifics.

As a child I would steal meaningless items constantly. Cement and nails from construction sites. Rubber bands and beads from thrift stores. etc etc

Now as an adult I find myself unable to discard anything I come across. Piles of paper in the form of notes, bills, receipts, etc. Coins of all varieties tossed in boxes and never touched. Pictures, Videos and whole Websites archived to hundreds of data DVDs.

Anyway, just curious and couldn't find an existing question that matched.

  • Can stomach pains be related to the time of day?

I get stomach and intestinal pains if I eat in the morning.

This is not related to food, I have changed my diet several times.

This is not related to sleep, the same thing happens if I wake up in the morning or if I've already been awake all night.

What might be causing this? How can illness be specific to the time of day? Could this be psychosomatic?

    Any information is appreciated.
