In various episodes of the show detectives are assigned "mugging detail", in which they are required to cross-dress and hang out in dangerous areas in order to attract muggers, who they then bust. Is this, or has it ever been, an actual practice in police departments?

Deep Purple admitted that they stole the famous riff for "Black Night" directly from this song.

Obviously Ricky Nelson didn't write that song himself, but he (or his bass player) did write the distinctive riff. Does the fact that the song itself is a cover mean that original elements in the arrangement (such as the riff) are fair game for stealing?

...that you get up in the morning, go to work, eat, drink, sleep, go to the bathroom, fall in love, get married, have kids, die and in general do the same things "normal" people do? Just wondering.

Karl Marx, Ayn Rand, Jean-Paul Sartre and Isaac Asimov were all atheists, all for entirely different reasons and all espousing totally different outlooks on life, but for some reason religious people lump all us "atheists" together, as if we're some kind of movement or religion.
