I asked a question recently on transferring images from camera to PC because having been in & out of hospital so often in the last year I couldn't remember how to do it. I received two replies and one was exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, this (fairly) new "Answers" deletes answers as soon as you have read them (on my computer at least) so that I was unable to pick that one as "Best Answer". If that was you, please answer again so that I can try to select it as "Best Answer".

I have a Nikon D5100 and have previously transferred images successfully to my PC for printing. Unfortunately, for the past year or so ill health and visits to hospital (several !) have prevented my using the camera at all until a few days ago. I find that now I can't transfer images at all. The instruction book tells me to connect the USB cable (with the computer switched on) then switch the camera on (same for transferring by using the SD card in the slot in the PC), then select from the dialogue box. Trouble is, no dialogue box appears and if I click on "Nikon Transfer 2) and then on "Source", there is no sign of any device in use ! Am I doing something stupid ? I certainly had no trouble transferring images a year ago. Incidentally, to forestall a possible suggestion, the instruction tells me to ensure the camara battery is fully charged, and it is. Any ideas would be welcome, so thanks in advance to all those who try to help.

Please note this is for information only, I'm not interested in stupid remarks from those of another or no faith. I know perfectly well that alcohol is forbideen to Muslims, but what of a dish that is cooked using wine ? Cooking destroys alcohol very quickly, leaving only the flavour of wine, so would such a dish be permissible for a Muslim ?

Just recently my computer cut out, dead, in the middle of booting up. I assumed it was the fuse so I changed that and all went well - until the following day, when it again apparently blew a fuse. This time, purely out of curiosity, I put the same fuse back in, and it worked perfectly well - for a few days, then it died again. It has done it several times, and always works fine when I switch off, take out and return the fuse and switch on. The problem always occurs at the point where a whole pile of white lettering on a black background appears (normally for an instant) but today it died eight times in the process of booting up. I would be very grateful if anybody can suggest a likely cause. Thanks in advance to anybody who answers.

I asked this one earlier and got two replies. The problem is that when I have answered a question there is no box "Submit" to use, so that if I click on another question my answer disappears.

One of the answers I got said that there was half a blue box at the bottom of the "Answer" box and clicking on that would submit my question - unfortunately there is no such half blue box on my screen! The other one said that while she had never had that problem she knew of several people who had, and referred me to a link where someone is trying to collect signatures to request that Yahoo return to the earlier version, which worked perfectly well - if you would like to help, the link is

I have tried several times to answer questions, but I cannot find out how to "submit" an answer when I've finished. If I just click on another question, my answer disappears, so just how do I get "Answers" to accept my answer?

About 4 years ago I finally got into digital photography, and was able to use Photoshop in the local Camera Club. However, since then I have moved to another town where there is no camera club, but have downloaded Gimp instead. Unfortunately, the last 4 years have been a bit of a nightmare so that I have spent more time in hospital than I have outside and have had 7 operations. The outcome is that when I started reading a book on Gimp that I bought, it started off by saying they assumed that the user knew how to import images to Gimp from a file. But it's been so long that I can't remember how to do that. If it's any help, my camera is a Nikon D5100 so that I can download images directly from the camera, or I could use HP Photosmart, but for the life of me I can't remember how to get an image into Gimp (or Photoshop for that matter). Can anybody help ?

Following heart surgery I have been advised to cut out butter and margarine completely from my diet, Is it possible to use oil (e.g. grapeseed, sunflower seed etc) as a replacement in making pastry ? If so, is 1 tablespoon = 15 g sufficiently accurate ? I pick that figure since 1 tbsp = 15 ml (approx) and if that were water that would be 15 g, but oil is slightly lighter than water. Thanks in advance. I know I can use vegetable shortening, but I'd rather use oil if I can.
