My computer has difficulties reading PDF files most of the time and has rare occasions where it will be able to show the document. Usually there's an error message window with a red icon that says there's a runtime error.

This error message occurs on websites that I know are safe, and when I'm trying to access documents for college course. I'd greatly appreciate if anyone could tell me what's causing this and/or how to fix it. Thank you for reading.

Before asking any advice for how to go about tutoring, I'd like to state that I myself am a student in college (recently graduated highschool) and fully understand if someone believes I shouldn't be trying to teach.

My classmate in psychology was recommended to talk to me about helping her two children catch up on math (they are going to be in 6th and 7th grade this next school year). Before graduation I finished pre-calculus and feel comfortable with most of the concepts given. Her children stated that the older struggled with fractions and geometry, while the younger struggled with fractions, division, multiplication, and decimals.

Since I am broke and currently have no income or previous experience tutoring, we negotiated that between $10-$15 an hour sounded reasonable and that we would meet up once or twice at first to see if it actually helps.

Now, for the actual question, I was wondering if anyone with previous experience tutoring/teaching (even a study group might help) could recommend any methods to help explain and practice with them.

Not quite sure how to separate a mixture listed in class.

There's salt crystals, sand particles, and iron fillings and all the particles look to be the same size.

The most I could get out of this was to use a magnet to bring out the iron, and I wasn't sure if a filter would work because the particles are about the same size.

Could someone tell me what would bring out each component and how? Any help is appreciated, thank you for reading.

My computer crashed the other day (relatively normal, it doen't really cause any problem other than turning it back on after it's cooled off). When I tried to reboot (several times with the same result) though, the windows security center stated that my malware protection was turned off. I clicked "turn on now" and it didn't do anything, tried downloading avg 2012 (free version) but they stop and state that there's been an error because the old version can't be uninstalled. I went to manually uninstall it from the control center but nothing happens. Not really sure what to do. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.
