I watched the debate and afterwards I am just curious what everybody thinks - are you planning on voting for Romney or Obama? I have a clear cut choice but I am just curious as to what the rest of America thinks!

  • HELP, tips approach land lord?

We are the first renters in this house. Our landlords inherited this house from her mother. She has expressed her love for this house and the want to "restore it"(she grew up in this house). My fiance is a subcontractor and would like to re-do the interior and exterior of the house. The question is, what is the best way to approach them with this suggestion? For discounted rent......obviously. Any ideas or suggestions in broaching this subject tactfully with our landlords? We do have a decent relationship with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Ladies:How long would you wait? MEN: Ultimatums?

Before I ask this, please NO rude answers. This is really bugging me and I want to know what others thing.

Women - how long would you be with your bf waiting for him to propose before you left b/c you figured you were wasting your time? Keep in mind you live with him, rent a house with him, have dogs together, you cook, you clean, you pay everything 50/50, you do his laundry, etc. If you wanted to get married, how long would you wait before you left or would you keep waiting?

Men - what would your reaction be if you promised your gf you'd be engaged by the end of this year and she said if you weren't, she didn't want to keep wasting time b/c she wants to get married?

I've been with BF for 3 1/2 years.

  • Why do you have to wear goggles when tanning?

Why do you have to wear those stupid little goggles when you tan? When I do I must not have them over my eyes right because I get white circles around the eye. Do you really only need to wear those if you open your eyes in the tanning bed or do you need to wear them all the time? If so, why?

  • Puppy teeth falling out, adult growing in but one chipped?

I have a 5 month old puppy and her front puppy fang tooth chipped when she was playing tug of war with our other dog. Her new adult tooth is coming in, but part of the puppy tooth is still in her gum. Now her gum looks a little red/infected. Do I just give it awhile in hopes that it will fall out or do I need to go have that puppy tooth pulled by the vet??

  • Would you be mad if your husband/wife/bf/gf did this? Or am I overreacting?

First let me say this is not typical behavior and my fiance does not go out very often. That being said he had a bachelor party on Saturday night. Ahead of time he looked into getting a cab ride home afterwards but it was a bit pricey. So he asked if I could pick him up. Sure, no problem. The plan was he was going to call me when the party bus dropped him off at 2 at the groom to bes house. Long story short, I ended up getting a hold of HIM at 4 AM (so he didn't even call me I got a hold of him on his friends cell b/c his phone was dead). He said he was just leaving the groom to bes house and that he was getting a ride home.

My point - stay the night there if you want, stay out as long as you want just call me and give me a heads up. I couldn't go to sleep (in fear of not waking when my phone rang) or even have a glass of wine (not going to drink anything and then drive) while I was sitting there waiting for him to call. Two hours is a long time to sit and worry and wait. His phone had died but he had told me before he took his phone charger and left it in his friends truck so he could call me when they got back. His excuse? He was drunk and no sense of time. Hello, you know you were supp to call me when you got back to grooms house. What does sense of time have to do with it? He wasn't even really that apologetic about it which I think is why it still bugs me.

Would you all be mad? What would you do? I asked him how he would feel if I did that and he agreed he would be worried and then mad. So why isn't he a little more apologetic and understanding why I am upset?

    Please no rude answers.

  • Best dog brush for short haired shedding dog?

I have an almost 5 month old Dalmatian and she sheds like crazy!!!! Is there a certain brush I can use to help brush her out so she doesnt shed so much?? Any advise or opinions would be greatly appreciated!! She sheds so much it's like a sea of white w/ black fur. What do you use for your short haired dog that sheds like crazy?? We also have a boxer/pit bull mix that doesn't shed nearly as bad as the Dalmatian.

  • My puppy seems to have a hard time pooping?

I have an almost 5 month old Dalmatian puppy. She's had all her shots including rabies. She's very healthy. The problem is that sometimes she seems to really have to strain to go poop. It seems difficult for her and takes her awhile to get it out, like she is constipated or something. Should I be concerned? I feed her Science Diet puppy food, sometimes with a little broth poured over it or mixed with either canned puppy food or a grilled chicken breast (vet said she was too skinny and we had to feed her more). Does anybody else have this problem? Do I need to worry or consult a vet? Anything to make it easier for her to go? She does eventually go, but it just takes her a long time and a lot of straining. This isn't all the time. Maybe every other day or so.

    Advise/opinions appreciated! Thanks!

  • What would you do about my sister and her dog?!?!?

My boyfriend and I rent a home on 4 acres. We have two dogs, one that is 70 lbs and a four month old puppy who is 30 lbs. My sister has been over to our house before (she lives two hours away), even since we got the puppy, but she always has to bring her 120 lb Rottweiler. She brings the dog everywhere and loves bringing her to our house b/c she lives in an apt with no yard. She's very neurotic about her dog. She thinks the dog is so well behaved but it's not. It jumps on people, barks aggressively, chews on stuff, will be running in the yard and will knock you on your *** b/c she just plows into you. My problem is that my sister keeps wanting to come for a visit. I would love for my sister to come visit, but I don't want her to bring her dog. I don't want 220 lbs worth of dogs running through our house and all over. I've used the landlord excuse before when she wanted to stay an extended period (they don't allow aggressive breeds) and there's no way she'd keep the dog outside. I told her I'd want to go to a movie but wouldn't know where to put the dog and she said "oh she will be good in the house". We kennel both of our dogs when we are gone. Even the four year old. I've tried subtle hints but she doesn't get it. How do I tell her I don't want her to bring her dog w/out ruining the relationship or distancing her? Remember, she is N E U R O T I C about her dog. Advise???

  • Advise please! What would you do?

Here is my dilema and I just don't know what to do! My BF and I rent a house on 4 acres. It's a fairly large old farm house. We have two dogs, one who is 70 lbs and the other is just a puppy and weighs 30. My problem is - my sister keeps bugging me to come visit (she lives about 2 hrs away) and every time she comes she expects to bring her 120 lb Rottweiler. The dogs get a long fine, but I think the dog is misbehaved (has chewed up her futon, expensive pair of glasses, jumps on people, aggressively barks at people) even though she totally doesn't see it. I would love for my sister to come visit, but NOT HER DOG. But she brings that dog everywhere!!! How can I approach this without hurting our relationship or distancing her? I feel bad, but I don't want over 200+ lbs of dog running around our rental house PLUS our landlords live close by. HELP?! Tactful way to approach this?

  • Do raccoons kill chickens?

We have lost 9 chickens in the past couple of days. At first we thought it was from the heat (I live in Michigan) but yesterday two of the chickens were just gone, only feathers left. They are in a coop covered all the way around with chicken wire. We only found one small hole dug that was the size of a fist. First, do raccoons kill chickens?? And if so, could they really get into a hole the size of a fist and cart the chickens back out of it? Anybody have this issue before??

  • Is it true that dogs have no sense of time?

I have heard that dogs have no sense of time. Is that true? If so, how on earth did they prove that? No rude answers please. I am honestly curious as to what all of you pet lovers out there or a vet has heard. I am going to ask my vet when I take my pup to get her last set of shots, but just thought I'd pose the question here.
