The gospel is the glad and merry news that God is good, he loves you, and he will happily give up everything he has so he can have you. Contrary to popular belief, God is not mad at you. He is not even in a bad mood. The good news declares that God is happy, he is for you, and he wants to share his life with you forever. Jesus is proof of this. The veracity of the gospel is evidenced in his death and resurrection. On the cross God showed that he loved us while we were sinners and that he would rather die than live without us. And through the resurrection he proved that nothing - not even death - can separate us from the love that is ours in Jesus Christ.

Elohim:
God (Gen 1:1)
Angels (Ps 8:4-5)
Man (Exodus 21:5-6)
Satan:

Angel (num 22:22)
man (matt 16:23)

5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenWhy do many still believe in a future eschatology? last days etc?
time and time again this doctrine has been proven false.
prominent people who formed this idea and preached this idea like Hal Lindsey (1980s), John Darby (1830), etc... (although no one before 1800s believed this)
have been proven false and their predictions false....
why oh why?
7 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenChristians, wages of sin is death....?
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."- Romans 6:23
wages = payment due for action performed
gift = a present not paid for by the receiver
So committing sin gets you the payment due of death. Eternal life is a present from God because of Jesus. Could someone please tell me why some Christians believe that eternal life is the wages of a righteous and holy lived life? The two concepts are opposites. A gift cannot be earned.
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 JahrenIf there's no hell, then there's no gospel?
I don't want anyone to experience hell or eternal separation or whatever bad consequences there are for rejecting Christ. That's why I am devoted to proclaiming the good news of his grace. But if hellish consequences aren't possible, what's the point? If everyone gets grace in the end, we might as well go play golf.
Diminish hell and you diminish the wrath of God against sin and you diminish the cross and you diminish the gospel.
right or wrong?

10 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 JahrenChristians, What does "Even the demons believe and shudder" verse means?
I want to address a myth in Scripture today. We have often told that faith is not enough to save you. They argue that even Satan believes in God and thus faith is not enough.
So what does "Even the demons believe and shudder" verse means for you? :)

13 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 JahrenWhy are there still Jews (following Judaism)?
no i'm not being anti semitic..
i mean, back in the old covenant, like when people didn't "deny themselves" (rest) during the sabbath, they die. or they did this and that, they die...
now nothing happens... wouldn't that be a clear example of the old covenant gone and the new covenant in effect.
10 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 Jahrenwhy do MJs (Messianic Jews) and JWs (Jehova's witnesses) worship an angel?
(Col 2:18) Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.
where did they get the idea of Jesus being Michael? the JWs idea was from the watchtower, what about the MJs? or are both coming from the watchtower?
3 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 Jahrenwhere did the idea of hell being the home of the devil and the demons come from?
hell is not the devil and demon's home - it's his prison or execution chamber...
All those cartoons depicting demons running their business from hell give the false impression that they are happy to be there. They are not there yet (Rev 20:10) and they live in terror of the place (Mat 8:29).
so where did the idea of demons torturing people in hell originate?
10 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 Jahrencan catholic-christians still be christians if...?
okay let me single out the common responses first...
-catholics are Christians-
-doctrines of salvation of both catholicism and christianity are the same-
They are if they have trusted in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of their sins. However, if they believe that the are saved by God's grace and their works, then they are not saved -- even if they believe their works are done by God's grace -- since they then deny the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.
Even though Roman Catholic Church affirms the Trinity, the deity of Christ, and His physical resurrection, it greatly errors in its doctrine of salvation by adding works to salvation.
The official Roman Catholic doctrine of salvation is that the grace of God is infused into a baby at baptism -- making him/her justified before God.1 This justification can be lost through sin and must be regained by repeated participation in the many sacraments found in the Roman Catholic Church. These sacraments increase the measure of grace in the person by which he or she is enabled to do good works which are in turn rewarded with the joy of heaven:
"We can therefore hope in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will. In every circumstance, each one of us should hope, with the grace of God, to persevere 'to the end' and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God's eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ," (CCC, par. 1821).
"Moved by the Holy Spirit and by charity, we can then merit for ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification," (CCC, par. 2010).
-catholicism and christianity are the same-
First of all, by its practice of promoting Mary (and the Saints) to the level of God-like capabilities, they break the commandment to have no other gods before the true and living God. In Roman Catholicism, they say that Mary is the mediatrix (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 969); Mary made atonement for the sins of man (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, page 213); Mary is the subject of preaching and worship (Vatican Council II, p. 420); etc.
Also, Catholicism violates the biblical doctrine of salvation by grace through faith alone. Paul the apostle, for example, tells us in Romans 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness." But Roman Catholicism denies that and says, "...so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments," (CCC, par 2068). Also, consider this:
"If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema" (Council of Trent, Canons on Justification, Canon 9).
--------------------
okay now that's done...
ONTO THE QUESTION...
can catholic-christians still be christians even if:
they believe in doctrines such as Immaculate Conception... (i'm not talking about the virgin birth) i'm talking about as it is said of the divinity of mary and her being the "queen" of heaven...
or doctrines of purgatory...
if they have put their faith in Christ alone as for their salvation, (not in the RCC doctrine) yet believe in these other doctrines are they still Christian?
