Christians: Do you know that an "idol" may not be what you think it means?
def of idol = a false image; false concept; an image by implication or a wrong image
If we have a wrong image of God then we are worshiping an "idol"...a false image of the true identity of God! Many of us think it is a statue or man-made image of God. But really- it goes deeper than that. Many of us have a wrong "impression" of who God is and that is also idol worship.
Do you have any comments on this? I am curious...
7 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 9 JahrenCatholics do you know how much God loves you?
If God loved us so much why do you think we still need to suffer to be able to enter heaven? In regards to purgatory - "a process" of purification is needed before entering heaven. Jesus took those lashes on his back and he suffered for us. He made us "complete" in Him. God loved us so much he purified us through Jesus' blood.
It doesn't make sense why we should suffer more. He took on suffering for us.
The prayer says: "He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures and is seated at the right hand of the Father."
If we need to suffer then we are saying His suffering wasn't enough...

~mark 6:52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
10 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 9 JahrenCatholics: Do you see yourself as...?
saints now in this life on earth? Or do you believe that you only become a saint later after you die and go to heaven?
10 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 10 JahrenCatholics: If there is a so called place "purgatory" that "refines" you?
Then what is the purpose in your eyes of why God would send us his Holy Spirit? The bible states this:
~John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, [he will guide you into all truth]: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Sounds to me like God sent us the spirit as a gift of salvation and as a person to help us stay on God's path. The Holy Spirit also makes us righteous and perfect in God's eyes. So why would we need to be refined if we are already "accepted in the beloved". Eph 1:6

1 AntwortProgramming & Designvor 10 JahrenSabbath keepers: What does this scripture mean to you?
Hebrews 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 8:13 AMPLIFIED When God speaks of a new [covenant or agreement], He makes the first one obsolete (out of use). And what is obsolete (out of use and annulled because of age) is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether.
We live in the New Covenant and it says the old covenant (following the Law of Moses and all the ordinances) is annulled or made obsolete.
hebrews 9:1 Then verily the FIRST covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:1 New century version The first agreement[a] had rules for worship and a place on earth for worship.
Footnotes:
1. Hebrews 9:1 first agreement The contract God gave the Jewish people when he gave them the Law of Moses.
We do not need to keep the 10 commandments as a work to earn righteousness. They are already written on our hearts as the word says. So they are part of our nature. Heb 8:10 states this.

What does this scripture mean to the people who want to keep the sabbath and the law?
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
4 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntJehovah witnesses! Why do you think that healing the sick today is from the devil?
...if the bible says in Mark 16:18 ...they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. And they do praise the Lord.
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntDid you know evil spirits were also mentioned in the Hebrew bible/Torah?
Look at 1 samuel 16:14 it says:
16:14 Now the spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD terrified him.
1 samuel 19:9 And an evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntDid you know God is not angry with you or seeking to punish you?
Many people have a misconception that God is angry and ready to punish anyone but the truth is he already judged the world through Jesus when he put his judgment upon him.
John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. The "prince"of this world is the devil. So he will be cast out when Jesus comes again.
11 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntDid you know that hell was not supposed to be for humans to go?
Hell was meant for satan and the fallen angels when they turned against God. It was not for humans. God does not want anyone to go to hell. This is a yes/no question!

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it. Matthew 7:13
