  • 2000 American Deaths in Afghanistan? Remember in 2005 when Bush?

was in office and 2000 American deaths in Iraq? We had crying mothers on talk shows, campouts in Crawford, TX, Code pink marching, Hollywood starlets hand wringing, film documentaries and speeches galore. Where are they now? Is all of this left wing media and politicians posturing and shaping public opinion? Any coverage at all...anywhere?

  • HVAC blower fan does not work: 1995 Pontiac Bonneville 3800 Series II?

Incidentally: Thanks to you folks who helped me out the last time. "JJ" the fan is in the top center of the firewall. Thank you very much again!

Question: When I rap on it with the hilt of a screwdriver the blower fan comes on then goes off immediately. (a little noisy, but it comes on). Does this mean it's the FAN or does it mean the RESISTOR?

  • Where is the location of the heater/defroster fan motor?

I've got a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. The fan blower does not work at all and needs replacement. Where is it located, and how do I get at it?

  • Who has more benefits? Illegals & terrorists or US Citizens?

I was wondering about this the other night and would value anyone's opinion. Left or right.

When I group the term "Illegals ad Terrorists" I'm not inferring it's the same threat only the same general group.

    * Illegals & terrorists - medical is for free v. citizen needs to pay or be fined.

    * Illegals & terrorists - can apply for free housing v. citizens more and many hoops with low chances

    * Illegals & terrorists - can get subsistence allowances and food v. citizens - few successes with SSI

    * Illegals & terrorists - can get payments per dependents v. citizens may get a deduction on taxes.

    * Illegals & terrorists - educate their kids thru college on grants v. not that many citizens. only citizens pay the bill through property taxes.

    * Citizens get to serve in military and some get killed.

    * Illegals and terrorists - if they are accused of crime are entitled to the best lawyers in the country v. our soldiers, if accused of a crime cannot even get due process, our citizens MIGHT be given a public defender.

    * Illegals & terrorists - if fined, they are forgiven v. citizens..go to jail.

Am I getting this wrong? Give me the other side! Help me, here!

  • Liberals & Conservatives: I'd be glad to hear your views on this. An idea for Soc. Sec. reform.?

    Propose this in 2009:

START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

    ---------------------- ------------

    SOCIAL SECURITY:

(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.

Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments..

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA..! ZILCH.....

    This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK "!

From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer). We can expect to get an average of

    $1,000 per month

    After retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.

    That change would be to:

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen.. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us

    Then sit back......

And see how fast they would fix it.

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

Same could go for Health Care.

  • General Health care Question:?

Which government agency, to which we already funnel Billions of taxpayer dollars to, has the following definition of themselves on their own websight. "United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves."

    a) AoA

    b)NACCHO

    c) DALTCP

    d) DHHS

True they are all health care agencies...there are many, many more.

Since the government is already involved in a BIB, BIG way, and has the ability to manage this thing...why do we need even more government?

Which health care insurance provider is making immoral profits? Which has made positive gains YTD in the stock market? (There aren't any). Why aren't they making skads of money?

I would be delighted to hear opinions.

  • Mandatory End of Life Counseling for over 60: Obama care?

What's that about? What are the old folks being set up for? With holding medication? Death camps? Well we already know about the "you can keep your own Health Policy...trust me...stuff." I can keep it until the Bill passes. Then it's illegal.

Nobody’s read the bill. Our compassionate and truthful democrats are for it. (cooking most of it up in the dead of night) The mean, and nasty old republicans are against it.

    How about you?

  • Government Mandated Health Insurance: Can you keep the private insurance you have?

Page #16 of the bill now in Congress, outlaws private insurance. That's the word we just got. That's NOT what Obama and his party are saying to the public. I and my family are self-insured. That will become illegal. I will be forced to take the government policy. No salesmen will call!

The idea is for the government to take over health care. It was never about caring for "the people." If it was, the solution would be over the 12 Million that don't have insurance. It isn't, is it? The solution will be forced on 303 Million people modeling the current Medicare system that's now failing.

Long live the Blue Dog Democrats! Many oppose the Bill that is now over 1,000 pages, the latter part is loaded with goodies and perks to induce votes from self interested Congress members. After all the deception, lies, and misdirects..do you still believe in Barack Obama?

  • Getting rid of car smell. Smells like something crawled in there and died. ?

My boy manages a fast food restaurant. He tracked soy oil and chicken grease and other organics into the car. We've cleaned it and the inside is spotless (it does have some minor stains). The car itself has no leaks, body integrity is good and there has been nothing spilled. Interior is gray. It smells like something large crawled in there and died by pooping itself to death. It's not there. I've checked. Would value any suggestions that you might have. I do not want to take the carpet up

    Question:

    1. Dog will be 6-8 inches tall. Some mentioned a "bell" to go out. What kind of bell? Can't they or won't they bark? Is the ell loud? (hopefully)

    2. He sleeps through the night now. Do I need to wake him?

    3. Age 14 weeks. We take him out every hour and 1/2. How long at each time increment (1 week...2 weeks?)

    4. What's the next time increment.

Surprise breakthrough. Wife has cats (where I'm from we used to eat those things....would break her heart if I took it up now). The pet store guy said give him some cat food as a treat....but keep him away from eating the cats portion. We followed the latter but not the former. My wife made up a little bag and gave it to him as a treat (4-5 little kibbles). He's become a peeing and pooping machine. Good Gravy! He likes those things.

Anyway...answer when you can...and thanks to all of you for your kind advice. It's really helping.

  • House Training a puppy: Technique?

We have a puppy. The dog will get to be 10-12 pounds...so it's a small one. We had a Golden Retriever many years ago. The Golden used to "ease into it." before he "went." You had plenty of notice.

This little guy. "DOOT" and its done. 6 nano seconds. We're doing OKAY with the poops (forgive the graphic) but the pee...squat, "deet", and done..20 drops. Lightening fast! By the time you yell "HEY!' He's done...Been done...and wondering why you yelled.

We don't want to keep him in cage all day, we're also told that scolding him doesn't work, because he already forgot what he did. The vet tells us that rubbing his nose in it doesn't work.

    Any tips?

  • House Training a puppy: How long does it take?

We have a small Chihuahua/Miniature Pincer mix. He'll get to about 10 pounds. Presently, he's 13 weeks old. We've had him for 2 weeks. He is in a cage at night (following directions, giving him enough room to turn around). We watch him during the day on a leash inside the house. If we think he needs to go, we take him out. We have about 1 "accident" per day when he's on the leash inside. This little guy is FAST. He's there, wagging his tail, in the blink of an eye, there's a puddle.

We've been at this for about 2 weeks. Just need to know about how long it takes.

  • Social Security & age of retirement?

I know that one can retire at age 62. A person can also retire at age 66. Do Social Security benefits increase on sliding scale...say if one were to go to pasture at age 63...do they get more/month than they would if they were 62? Or is there only 2 choices 62 or 66?

  • Probability Question?

A spinner is divided into 4 equal spaces. A player bets $2.00 on a given space. If the spinner lands on that space, he is paid $8.00 and gets his $2.00 back. If the spinner lands on on any space not chosen, the player loses the $2.00. (Assume that landing on a line is voided and spinner is respun) What is the expected value of the game?

Please show your work....I'm trying to get the logic down.
