Can I get something to correct my tv?
My tv is really sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Even when I turn on the dvd player or hd player the tv freezes up for a second and when there is a storm it is near unwatchable. Is there a simple device like a capacitor that I can plug in inline on the power supply for the tv to maintain the voltage to prevent this. Cheers.

My Computer is being a bit weird, recently the ethernet connection died so I had to buy a usb dongle to reconnect online to my wireless modem even though it is a desktop, cheapest option. A couple of days later it crashed on me for the first time, now it won't sleep even though I leave it on it tries to sleep I hear the fan shut off for a second then it restarts same if I select sleep from the start menu which means I have to shut it down every time now, so not a big deal just a pain in the but. I suspected a virus but a trend micro scan showed up nothing. Any ideas?
2 AntwortenDesktopsvor 9 JahrenWhat Bacteria turns water to Jelly?
I am a refrigeration Mechanic and one of the major problems you get in fridges is blocked drains due to a gelatinous sludge building up, I have had up to 10 meter long gelatinous worms come out of drain pipes after you loosen them. It is slimey but solid enough to pick up. I was told once it was a bacteria that caused this just wondering if that was right and if so which bacteria would it be that seems to work well at 1 to 5 degree celcius water. It tends to happen more on meat and produce fridges and ones with slow flowing drains but it can happen on any unit even freezers (although outside where the pipes are warmer and the water is just chilled not frozen). Would just like to know what causes this, if it is bacteria or something else. Cheers.

1 AntwortEngineeringvor 10 Jahrenquestion about Sikh belief?
I passed a group of Sikh men the other day and I thought to myself that I am completely ignorant of the Sikh people and faith. Aside fro the not cutting of hair and the turbans I haven't a clue so could someone please fill me in, just a laymans explanation would be fine I don't need to understand any of the finer points. Just thingsd like, why the Turbans? Why no hair cuts? Are the different Turban colours signifigant? Are there foods they eschew? what is the belief on the after life? what do they call their God? and is he/she as vengeful as the christian God? stuff like that. I would like to know purely to address my own ignorance. Many thanks.

I have a 22 week old son and my doctor told me that their eyesight is very poor. But from time to time I notice he is hard to get to sleep as he is looking around a lot more than usual. So my question is, is the ability to focus in infants reliant on them building the necessary muscle around their eyes to be able to focus and therefore a gradual thing or is it just them working it out and it is a sudden thing in but in stages? And how did they figure this out as it is kinda hard to get feedback from infants?

I was standing at a urinal the other day and somebody has scrawled "i need to sh*t" on the wall at eye level and it just tickled my funny bone. I also remember a police aerial patrol sign (they used to hover in helicopters and time people between white lines on the road and radio offenders details to waiting patrol cars) and someone had scrawled "pigs in space"What is the funniest/clever /witty graffity you have seen. Nothing grubby or offensive please.

My wife opened an iceburg lettuce tonight she bought from the shops yesterday and there was a clear film that was peeling off the leaves, it is obviously part of the lettuce that has come away, the best way I can describe it is to say it was like peeling laminating off a book. What is this? what would have caused the lettuce to come apart like this? and is it safe to eat? Cheers.

Near the end of ww2 my Grandfather who was 2nd A.I.F, was involved in a combined action with some American troops. Some family say they were marines some say they were army, Pa never really talked about it. The upshot is that a young man named Julian Van Noy (not sure of spelling) stayed out in an exposed area and was cut off and killed, I new he was posthumously awarded the CMH and that he was on of the youngest to be awarded it but what I wasn't aware of was that my Grandad wrote a letter to his parents that was later used in evidence to make the award. My Aunty has his old war diary which she won't let anyone look at and I was wondering if there was any chance things like this were kept recorded and if so would I be able to obtain a copy somehow. Simply to get a bit of an insight into my Grandad who was my hero but I learnt more about him at his funeral than I did during the 35 years of life that I had with him. The action happened on Scarlet Beach in a place called Finschaafen on the northen coast of Papua new guniea. I would be most grateful for any help.

a rectangular area of 128m^2 find the min amount of fence req to enclose 3 sides. So I let the 1 side = x and the 2 equal sides =y and I get fence length is 2y+x and also x*y=128 so x=128/y so I end up with fence req = 2y+128/y, my question is how do you differentiate 128/y

4 AntwortenMoviesvor 1 JahrzehntIs there any correlation between conjuvctivitis and the crusty green eye discharge?
I have a 4 week old son and we brought him home with a blocked tear duct in his right eye, not uncommon, so from early on he has been getting a build up of the crusty green stuff on his eye that we have been wiping away with saline but in the last few days he developed redness in the white of the eye and a yellow discharge that was diagnosed as conjunctivitis. After a few of the eye drops the discharge and the redness have gone but the crusty stuff remains (and is now on the left eye), does this mean the conjunctivitis is still present or have we beaten it and the constant crusty stuff is something else. It is making my wife quite upset and it is hard to find a straight answer to this on the net. Cheers.
2 AntwortenOpticalvor 1 Jahrzehntmovement of an object through a fluid?
I though about this while doing laps at the pool the other day. If temperature affects the viscosity of the water/fluid does it also affect the speed of an object through it because as the passage through a fluid becomes easier through lessening viscosity the means of propulsion should degrade at the same rate as it relies on newtons 2nd law to move forward. So for example for a swimmer in a pool would they swim identical times if they expended identical amounts of energy at different water temps or is there a variance.
