It’s a great collectors piece. It’s not actually my book I am selling it for a friend. Please share you opinions. I want it to sell, but I don’t want to get ripped off.

  • Can someone re-post on e-bay before the auction has ended?

I was watching several items form the same seller (I only bid on one). They had all a low or no starting price and no reserve. There had been several bids on each, the price was very low, considering the value of the items. Near the end of the auction, the seller stops bidding and re-posts the item with a “buy it now, best offer” at a much higher price. The seller is very experienced.

For example; one item with less than one day left to bid was selling for $10 the auction was stopped, and reposted with a “buy it now, best offer” for $149. Another item by the same seller almost ended at around $80, but was reposted in the same manner for $499.

    Is this within e-bay regulations?

    Can I report it?

In my opinion the seller has agreed to sell the item for no reserve, at a low starting price, bidders have made offers based on the assumption that the terms will be honored. They have not, I feel this is unethical. Do you agree?

    Thanks!

  • What are the best value golf courses in Myrtle Beach, SC?

We are planning a trip in April or May to celebrate our first-born.

I would love to play some golf.

We are on a budget, so nothing over $100, preferably a couple of good courses in the $50s. I am decent player, and not scared of a good challenge.

There is a million courses near Myrtle, so any help would be appreciated. Please share your experiences, a little about the course, cost, telephone number or website.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Who is leading the stock market?

What I mean is, who is controlling the volatility and the massive price swings (driving the market lower)?

I was always under the assumption that the market was mostly controlled by many millions of people investing relatively small amounts, IRAs, 401Ks, personal accounts through banks or brokers. Under this assumption some natural movement is understood but the prevailing movement will be flat to slightly up.

Now I am concerned that my understanding is seriously flawed. This massive movement down and all the volatility tells me I am betting on a market that is stacked with shorts and few people with tons of money.

How can small investors that can’t watch the market or move money by the second compete? It’s like betting on a football game and having some people allowed to change their bet at halftime (or in the 4th with 1 sec to go).

    Is the deck stacked?

Is the market run by very few people with stupid amounts of money?

Should small investors invest in the market?

Are you sick of watching your 401K tank?

    Thanks for reading!

    Comments are appreciated.

  • Why do you LOVE/hate the Ryder Cup?

    I love it!

    This is why:

    1. The format of play. Every shot, every match is very important. In a regular golf tournament only a handful of players are in contention, usually by Sunday the event is virtually over.

    2. It puts the players in different situations. Playing as a team, better ball, best ball, match play.

    3. The TV coverage is great. You can actually follow a players round.

    4. The Fans; US’s and the EU’s. Every year one side whines about the other sides’ fans, its call gamesmanship, pros can deal.

5 Its every other year. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, top players may only play in one or two in a career.

    6. Drama. Captains’ picks, who will play, who will sit, playing orders, how is the course set up… great stuff!

  • Preparation for a golf tournament?

This is my first tournament. I never played golf competitively, except for dollar games on the weekend, and my company outing (not very competitive, league rules).

What should I do leading up to the event?

The event is on Saturday, today is Monday, What should I do the 6 days prior?

Any ideas on how to mentally prepare?

  • Going out in Pasadena CA?

I am the best man in a wedding in Pasadena; I am from Columbus Ohio, and need info on places to go out, like bars restaurants. We are staying near the Rose Bowl. I would prefer an area, or a street, so we can park and bar hop. LA is unreal and none of the groomsmen are form LA, we really don’t want to drive around all night looking for a nice place. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Good Rangefinders?

I am looking for a good rangefinder, one that can hit a flag from about 250-300 yards. But I don’t really want to spend $400. Does anyone know a good rangefinder that’s a little less $?

    Are any of these good?

  • Have you tried the Top Flite, Gamer?

I have played 27 holes with it.

    I like it!

Long of the tee…loooong! The ball doesn’t spin much of the driver.

    I wouldn’t call it soft…it’s comfortable.

I can get good stopping form mid irons and some spin form short irons, not like the ProV that can spin like crazy with SW, but Gamer is well behaved. And its $19.99.

    What do you think?

  • Play for birdie or avoid bogey?

Hit the green or hit the pin?

Tight par 4, hit driver or 3 wood?

Putt to the hole, role it 2 feet past?

Do you play better when you play aggressively or passively?

Is there a point, as a golfer, when your round (game) depends on making birdies more than avoiding trouble or big numbers?

It seems to me that pros have bad holes, they take bogeys and worse, but they make enough great shots, birdies a better to make up for bad holes.

Is the key to golf, and playing well, learning how to make birdies?

    Thanks!!

  • How to improve consistency?

I am not looking for swing ideas but overall how to improve and score more consistency.

I claim a 6 handicap (last year), but this year I have shot anything form 98 to 73. Some days I am “on it” and some days I am OB, missing greens form 60 yards, 3 putting… its killing me. How can I improve my rhythm? Timing? Consistency? Mental game?

    Thanks!

  • Golfers moral dilemma?

I was hitting range balls at a local course. In the bucket of balls I find a brand new ProV1x. At this range 99% of the balls used are Top Flite range balls; I know some courses recycle water balls for the range, I wouldn’t consider picking up a ProV from a course like that. This particular ball was lost during play, I assume. It’s a $4 ball!

Do I keep it and play with it?

Do I return it to the pro shop?

Do I hit it into the range?

Is this ball damaged goods, spiritually tarnished, bad karma?

  • How important is the Driver?

It has always been my opinion that driver is a critical part of the game.

I would ask my dad if I should tee of with iron, he would say, “play the game”, or “try to get a short iron in and set up birdie”

The vast majority of golfers need all the distance they can get to set up reasonable shots to the green.

Ya Ya, I know, Tiger hits driver 4-5 times a round, your not Tiger, and you don’t have a 320 yard 3-wood!

I also know, you drive for show putt for dough. Putting and short game is MORE important…everyone knows that!

But after you putter and SW (or your favorite club around the green) I believe driver is the 3rd most important club in your bag.

Most players will use it 10-14 times in any given round, more than every club, besides the before mentioned, putter and SW.

Driver is hard to hit, it is the least forgiving, and most likely to get you in trouble. But It’s FUN hitting drivers, especially trying to kill it on a par-5 and setting up a shot to the green (that’s where the pros make there money).

    So here are the questions:

Why do people think it is not important to hit driver?

    Why play lawyer golf?

    Do you enjoy hitting driver?

Do you really think you would score better by not hitting driver?

    Any comments?

    Thanks!

    Other places to see?

    Good places to eat?

  • What are you best golf tip(s) (not swing related)?

Tips about: course management, shot selection, mental game, how to score better….

    I have one:

Don’t get technical when playing golf. Envision you shot, make it happen, have confidence. Working on swings, and technical stuff is for the range.

    Thanks!!!
