  • GI Stasis in Rabbit; Question?

Both of my rabbits developed GI Stasis this past December. Actually 3 of them did, but now only 2 have it. I took one of them to the vet because he was the worst of the two, my other one was responding to home remedies. The ER gave me a week worth of medication and I tried to get a hold of them to get more since my regular vet recommended doing so. They never responded and I went to a rabbit specialist because he was demonstrating stasis still. The thing with my rabbits is that they are extremely alert, eating, and moving around. They get unlimited timothy hay and a lot of greens. I do not feed them pellets anymore (I let my dad watch my rabbits and found out he fed them WAY too many pellets, which led me to the initial stasis episode) Here is my question: They have been on medication for about a week and a couple days. They were pooping and now their poop has slowed down to almost nothing when I am at work. When I come home to let them out, they poop all over the place but their poops are still small and or mushy. They poop the same amount that I find in the cage after 8 hours as they do in 15 minutes outside of their cage (which is about 20 pellets!) I feel like they just don't want to go in their cage anymore! I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what they do for their rabbits. Also, live in the Chicago area. My vet said it could be due to weather since she had an unusually high amount of calls for stasis in the area. One of my friends had to put her rabbit down the other day and she is in the area. I also saw that rabbit breeders in the Midwest are experiencing similar issues. Luckily, mine are still eating and are active. But any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! My rabbits are a 6 year old Lionhead who was never sick and was responding to home remedies and a 2 year old Polish Dwarf. (I am aware it is more common for these things to happen in smaller breeds).

  • WHen I had windows vista my Win XP games worked, now that I Installed 7, they keep minimizing, HELP please!?

So I have a bunch of games from pogo on disk that I installed on my laptop while I still had windows Vista service pack 2. They were made in 2003/2004 so I am thinking they were made for XP at the newest and of course windows 98. The games were working before I upgraded to windows 7. Now the games run, but they constantly minimize, not letting me access anythig in the game at all. I tried running it in compatablity mode but it isn't working very well. Any other ideas?

  • I put one of my rabbits down today from GI Stasis. How do I make sure the other rabbit handles the loss well?

My eldest rabbit was put down today. His GI Stasis was so bad that his appendix and his intestines had a blockage. The rabbits were together for 4 years. I have heard of some rabbits not eating anymore because they are so upset. How do I make sure my remaining rabbit makes it through the grieving process ok and help him adjust?

    Thank you.

  • Problems with Wireless mouse, the pointer is not responding, but i can still right click?

So this is the second optical mouse I have had and for some mysterious reason, the curser will freeze on the screen. It will stop responding completely, but I can still right click where ever I am. Any ideas as to why this has happened to two of my optical mice? They are HP if there is an issue going on with HP. And there is a blue light in the scroll button that keeps blinking or doesn't light up anymore and usually it stays lit. My first mouse I had that this happened to I would change the batteries and it did nothing for it, Same with this one.

    HELP!!

    Thanks!

  • Reading a knitting pattern, stuck on part of it!?

Ok so I am new to knitting with patterns. I understand basics. So here is the pattern and I will star where I am lost (not too far into it yet lol)

    What the pattern says:

    _______________________________________________________________________________

    Supplies:

    2 Skeins

    Knitting needles size 11.

    Finished size: Approx. 56' square.

Note: Throw is made in alternating 12-stitch blocks of garter stitch and stockinette stitch. Throw is worked diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner, starting with 1 block and increasing to 9 blocks at widest point, then decreasing back down to 1 block. **(I understand what they are asking for all in all for the end result) **

    Directions:

Using two strands, cast on 12 sts.

Knit 24 rows ( 12 garter ridges on RS)

INCREASING SECTION: Next row (RS): cast on 12 sts.k to end. **What does it mean knit to end? How many?

Next row: Cast on 12 sts, k12,p12,k12. **(I get what this is i think, knit, pearl, knit alternate)

*Row 1 (rs) Knit. Row 1!? What?

    *Row 2: k12, p12, k12. Row 2?? what?

Rep rows 1 and 2 11 more times, 12 garter stitch ridges on RS.

Cast on 12 sts at beg of next row and K to end.

Cast on 12 sts at beg of next row, k 12, p 12, k12,p12,k12. There should be five 12 stitch blocks across. Continue in established pattern.

Repeat increasing sequence as established until 9 blocks across row have been completed.

DECREASING SECTION: Bind off 12 sts at beg of next rs row and k to end. Bind off 12 sts at beg of next row and continue pattern. Continue in established pattern until there are 12 rows of garter stitch ridges on the right side.

Repeat decrease pattern by binding off 12 sts at beg of next two rows. Continue in pattern.

Continue established block pattern. Decrease until one block remains. Bind off when 12 garter stitches on right side have been completed.

    _________________________________________________________________________________

I get the picture of the pattern, i have the picture it is cute, a bunch of squares put together. But, I only get how to knit let's say half of it. So one side will be straight and the other will be the square boxes. Or is this much easier than I am making it out to be? If someone or many of you can help it would be greatly appreciated! thank you guys!

  • My rabbit constantly gets GI stasis, any ideas?

Hey guys, so my rabbit is constantly getting GI Stasis or Illius or what ever you would like to call it. He is VERY attatched to me and I am home as much as i can be to see him. But every couple of months he will stop eating and pooping. I was wondering if any of you guys have this also and what YOUR ideas and home remedies are that help your little fella out. So far I have two prescriptions for him for when it starts up. Every once in a while i have to take him to the vet because he can't knock it out of his system.

Usually if i syringe him water and baby food he will be ok with in a couple days. I just feel bad for him always getting sick!! I wish i could stop this!!

    thanks guys!!

Hey guys! I have been working for starbucks for a total of 4 years.

Just recently my manager has told me that we will be required to work 30 hours a week to help sort out who is willing to work and who isn't. I do not mind I love the idea. She said that this is the new Starbucks policy. I'm in the chicago land area.
