Question for those into paleantology:

What was the Great Basin (i.e. Nevada) landscape like during the age of the dinosaurs and what, if any, fossils can be found in the area? Where?

Let me start by saying the Virginia Tech massacre has, without a doubt, been one of the saddest and most traumatic incidents in recent history, and my heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families. That being said, does anyone else find it somewhat irritating that the media has covered this story day and night, relentlessly, yet every single day of the week we lose countless American soldiers in Iraq. Cho took the lives of 32 people, but 32 casualties in the "war" is considered a good day and barely gets a thirty second time slot on the nightly news. Why is such a tragic loss of life recognized and mourned every day as our brothers, sons, husbands, and fathers die for our country. It just seems a little messed up. What do you think?

Do you see any parallels between this story and the events that took place at Virginia Tech earlier this week?

How was it and do you recommend going there?

My wife and I are going this weekend. Is it as tropical and cool as I am expecting? How's the price? Service?

I live a few hours away and was thinking about checking it out. Is it worth the drive out to the middle of nowhere?

Did he pick up his career after being cut by Cleveland after a woeful and short career? Or is he selling oranges by the interstate?

If yes, which events?

What took place here that caused so many steep, jagged mountain ranges alternating with long, flat valleys? How long ago did this happen? Is there any other place on earth that has a basin and range province?
