i like a girl from work i was affraid she rejects me .... i got nervous around her

yet i like her so i gather strength of character to talk to her

at times i deliver compliments i sense she may believe i like her at times she asks me why i say what i say ..... she get like akward ....

i talk to her at work today friday and we got along i had ask her about her dating situation and 3 weeks ago she said she does not want to dtae anybody ... this day friday morning she said she does not want to date .... then when i asked her pone number she got strange refusing to do so because she says her ex got jealous

i replied back in control saying " you told me your not taken and now you say this what is the problem?" she did gave me her number

yet i dont want to make her feel unconfortable around me and blow my chances help?

i am affraid she may rejecting me causing i am past 30 years old and i still ive with my parents, i know girls like adults living on their own, yet that i am affraid she may reject me i am also affraid of letting away the chance to get into a relationship with this very special girl

i dont know even how to past anxiety and ask her out and then to be into a relationship, i dont want to deny my self the right to happiness

advice ? i am getting head over heels

please tell me for how long you could stay without a boyfriend or date and how do you feel about it?

When i was doing law school i used to like certain type of women , but they were not into me , they liked bad boys , jerks and better looking men than me , now that i am after college and a professional lawyer, younger college girls look at me more, so this year alone 3 college girls asked me out , but i prefer some older women like me! and now this hot , good looking girl who went to the same college i did but she was doing studies at other faculty , she used to date a a guy i know and he was the son of a famous politician ( now this guy is a congress man) , i used to believe with certain true evidence that she was into him because of his political famous last name, i had met several of the guys she used to date during college days . And now we bumped into each other and she looks at me a lot , ask questions about me to common friends and she pays extra attention when i talk at group events . So people say she wants me to ask her out , but i don´t want to , i se her as the little hot girl who believes too much out of her self and pays too much importance to her beauty ,

So question is this: since and hence i don´t like her so much and she is still hot but CHILDISH , how i deal with her and reject her with out doing damage to my working world ? hint i have to see her for work issues almost on a weekly basis ?
