1 AntwortHalloweenvor 10 JahrenQuestions about pointe?
I am 15 and went en pointe last September. I live in Ireland so the classes are a bit different; I only do one class a week compared to American studios. Up until maybe Christmas (not sure) I wore them everyday and practiced but after a while I only wore them in class.
I have a few questions about them.
1. When I go on demi pointe, it feels like there are two different parts on the shoe. It's hard to describe, but it feels the box is one separate part. When I go on demi pointe, the back (the shank?) goes straight, the only thing keeping it are the ribbons and there is a gap between my feet and the actual shoe.
2. When I walk on demi pointe sometimes it is really sore but it is usually just the right foot. It came on one time in class and it stayed after that.
3. Are pointe shoes meant to hurt when you put them on? Like before you warm up or dance? Are they meant to hurt even when you have been dancing for a while (months or even just during class)
4. When I was breaking them in, I saw on the internet that a hairdryer can help so I used it and bent them a bit. Was this right to do because as in my other question, it feels like there are two parts and that the bottom (the sole, I'm not sure what it is called) is slightly broken even though it isn't. A girl who had really nice arches in hers (when she had them on) said that she bent them so I did that too but that was after a while.
5. How do get the nice arches in them? At the moment mine have a bit of an arch but I was just thinking that I have had problems with my feet (I have orthotics in my shoes) so that could be it.
6. Is there a possibility that they may not be properly broken in?
Sorry for the questions, you can see I'm not the most experienced! I hope someone can help me and sorry it's so long!
Thanks in advance!

3 AntwortenSoftwarevor 1 JahrzehntHow to apply make properly?
I'm 15 and I want to start wearing make up but I have no idea how to put it on! I feel embarrassed about it so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to put on everything including foundation, concealer, eyeshadow etc. Do you always have to put on concealer? What colours go with auburn hair and blue eyes (especially eyeshadow colour). How do you choose foundation and what's the best type (ie powder etc and how to apply it)?
What types would you recommend for combination skin? I can sometimes be sensitive and I don't want anything to be expensive. I have quite pale skin.
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

1 AntwortStandards & Testingvor 1 JahrzehntWhat hair removal method should I use?
I'm 15 (girl) and I started shaving last year. At the beginning my legs were super smooth but after a few shaves it didn't really do very well. I got a new one and within a few shaves again it was going blunt (gillette). I clean it and make sure it's not clogged and leave it to air dry so it's not that. I don't want to be spending loads of money of them every few weeks. I was thinking of using a hair removal cream like Veet or Nair. I hate how long shaving takes when it doesn't even remove the hair so I was thinking of switching. I'm aware that sometimes it can burn but can someone advise me of a good one (for my armpits too)? I was also thinkin of waxing (myself, not a salon) but I'm not really sure I could stand the pain but I would just like people's opinions and past usage of wax and cream products.
Also, I was thinking of startin 'down there', I shaved once there before but it was before I started shaving and I did it all wrong and it was quite itchy. Any advice?
Thanks.
4 AntwortenAdolescentvor 1 JahrzehntA few questions about pointe work?
I'm new to pointe since September. I had a hard time breaking them in and I think they aren't even broken in properly yet. My legs are still bent when I am properly on the box. I can do little steps (bourrees I think) but that's it really. I have ribbons at the highest point of the arch or near it anyway and I have ordered elastics because the heels fall down.
My questions are:
1. How do you balance en pointe? Maybe I can't balance properly because I'm not fully over my box but I don't know.
2. I have worn them everyday since September and I have done the exercises for breaking them in but I still can't go over my box. It feels as if the sole is pushing in preventing me. I bent them a little when i first got them so I think that might have done something to them.
Can anyone help me? Thanks.
4 AntwortenDancingvor 1 JahrzehntPeriod and tampon question?
I'm 14 and have had my period since I was 12, it's regular. I got it on Thursday. They usually last 5 days but in the last few periods, I noticed they were almost like gone with almost no blood and then back on the 5th, but I'm not sure if that was just once or not.
So I have to do thid swimming thing for the next two weeks, twice a day. I can't get out of it. I will still have my period. I'm not sure if it will be light or not and I only have the super tampons. It's my first time using tampons (don't have the box, any help with this?) and I don't want to use them if it's sort of light.
Do you think I should just put one in anyway, or just go in to the river with no tampon or pad and put a pair of tight shorts on underneath?
I'm really worried! Thanks in advance.
2 AntwortenWomen's Healthvor 1 JahrzehntI feel like I've ruined it all?
Please read this, I know it's long but I'd really appreciate it.
Ok, so me and my friend (Jane) had a fight with my friends (Orla, Aisling, Maria and Claire) last night. My friends (Orla and them) hate Jane and likewise. Last year in 2nd year we had a huge fight because I wanted to be friends with Jane and they wouldn't let me. So I was back friends with them this year. We're doing our Junior Cert. They (Orla and them) wanted to go bowling on Friday but I couldn't. So they go, everyone except Claire. I go on msn when they would be home and ask how it was and Orla says 'yeh it was class... have a good time studyin?' and then Aisling says the same. Orla has been on my nerves for some time. Never has anything nice to say about me. She calls me a social r****d and says I'm ugly in round about ways (I hate the way I look anyway). I was friends with her when she had no one else. She has been chopping and changing between friends with Jane and us. Now she's with us because she decided she hates Jane for no reason. I'm on Jane's side on this. I didn't go bowling mostly because of Orla but I couldn't go anyway (I could have gotten out of it but I didn't because of her, she would say more stuff to me)
Anyway, so me, Aisling, Maria and Claire are all in a convo on msn and I'm talking to Jane in a separate one. Aisling suggests that we add Jane. Aisling has been annoying me recently (her and Claire calls us lesbians etc) so when Jane was added I said 'Hey babeee' just to annoy her.
Anyway, this was all just a joke until Orla came on. She told me I was ugly so I responded to that saying that she won't have anyone at this rate (She's not doing TY, the rest of us are). So it goes on, them calling us lesbians. I didn't even say anything bad about them, I kept it like civil. Me and Jane decide to leave but they add us again. We leave again and go offline.
This morning when I signed in, Aisling had left me an offline message saying 'thanks for sticking up for us, know who real friends are now' I replied and said that they had said things to me aswell and she replied saying 'Well I hope you and your girlfriend are happy now, I'm glad you have a new friend and lost 4'
It was all a joke in the beginning, it was their idea too. Aisling's acting like it's all my fault (as usual) and she didn't do anything wrong. I just replied to what they were saying. They didn't stick up for me once when Orla or Claire said anything. Maria stayed out of it. Oh, and Orla isn't a good friend of ours, only when she needs to be. She's 'bezzi's' with Claire now even though they hated eachother.
I am so nervous about school now because me and Jane are in different classes. I'm scared that they will laugh at me and say stuff to me. I can't not go in because they'll laugh then too. My locker is right beside theirs.
Any advice, please? I'm so worried and I feel so panicky. I already have problems with myself like liking myself etc and being on my own and now I just feel like crying.
Sorry it's long but please read.
4 AntwortenFriendsvor 1 JahrzehntHelp with this SAT question please?
I'm preparing for the PSAT test (I'm 14 in Ireland) and I'm stuck on one I don't know how to do. Could someone explain how to do this please? Even the method is fine, I just want to know for the test.
The five digits 1, 2, 3 4, and 5 are used to form five-digit numbers in which no digit is repeated. How many such five-digit numbers greater than 40,000 are possible?
A) 24
B) 48
C) 64
D) 96
E) 120
This isn't a question on this years one, it's a past one. It's not homework or anything, I just want to find out how to do it so even if you don't post the answer, please post how to do it.
Thanks.
2 AntwortenStandards & Testingvor 1 JahrzehntPeriod problems, please help?
I got my period today (I'm 14 I've had it since I was 12) and it's always pretty regular like bang on time each month. It's never that bad because it's usually at school and I get to walk around and exercise between class. I'm still on Christmas holidays and I got it today. I woke up with not so much a cramp but just I feel really uncomfortable in my tummy and sometimes it hurts. I went on a longish walk today but it still didn't help and I have a heat pack but it only helps a bit but then it comes back.
I'd rather not take anything but is there any tips I can use? It's dark here so I can't go outside.
Thanks
3 AntwortenWomen's Healthvor 1 JahrzehntWhat can I say back to this girl on bebo?
This girl who used to be in my school used to bully my friend. She moved back to Scotland about 1 1/2 years ago and she added me on bebo. She asked if I was friends with her and I said yeh, she's a great friend. She replied 'YUCK' so I said 'she's actually really nice, pity you don't know her'. She said, 'I do know her I was going to batter her x'
What can I say back to her? I want to be sort of mean but not really. Anything to put her down. Thanks

4 AntwortenOther - Beauty & Stylevor 1 JahrzehntMy friend has ditched us, can you please help with some good comebacks?
Ok, well my friend moved 2 years ago to our school mid year. Anyway, I think, and so do the others (3 others) think she lies about everything she says. We live in Ireland btw. She said last week that she would never ever in a million years go to the disco here with us that it's crap etc. Now she's made friends with girls who think they're great and popular. We don't like them but now she said she's going to the disco with them, after her saying she's never go.
So what can we say to her? I mean she is quite childish and fights with you over nothing like, and I mean it. We were at the cinema (movies) today and before it we were getting something to eat. She asked the others but not me, and her excuse was that she 'wanted to go with someone who has already been'.
Oh yeh, I can see her breaking away from us. It happened to me last year because she didn't like me being friends with another girl so started calling us lesbians etc and other stuff.
What can we say? We were talking about it on msn before she came online.
Thanks for any help.

Ok, I'm 14 and this week I have an outing with the school for sports where we have to wear shorts. Problem is, I don't shave (I just don't bother, no one sees my legs - but I haven't asked my mum [asked when I was 11 I was starting secondary school said no]).
I don't want to ask my mum and I can't at all buy one in time. My sister is at college and she has Nair cream for sensitive skin or something and I was just wondering if it's ok to use? I'm going to use it anyway, any tips? I'd rather not have red legs and cuts all over me :)
Thanks
17 AntwortenAdolescentvor 1 JahrzehntMy dog has anxiety and he is destoying the doors, how do we stop this?
Ok, so we got my dog 2 years ago at the rescue centre. He's about 3 and a golden retriever male. He gets these panic attacks every so often and now he has started to scratch at the doors to get in. Yes, its winter and its cold here but we put him out for a while because he is really lazy and won't go out for long. When we put him out, for maybe 10 minutes, he starts jumping up at the door and scratching it. There have been pieces taken off it he's so strong. And then when he's inside, and dinners being made, we put him in the back hall where he sleeps with our cat. He does the exact same with this door and because we have a door handle low down, he can now open the door and the handle is gonna be broke soon.
We bring him on walks, but not as many as we used to as its raining almost every day and it gets dark at about 4/half 4 in the evening. We have a big garden too.
Is there any sprays or anything I can make at home to spray on the door? We're working on getting his weight down atm as he's a few pounds overweight too and working on playing more etc, but he just won't play or get engaged like.
Any ideas? Thanks for any advice!
