Hi! I'm a 16 year old girl at a healthy weight, but since I'm getting closer toward overweight, I decided to start exercising more. Long question short: is it ok for my heart to get up to 180 BPM when I'm really out of shape and haven't exercised in a long time?

Longer question: I recently joined a gym and have been using the Ark (Arc?) Trainer. I'm really, REALLY out of shape, but this machine seems ok for me. I'm just worried about my heart. The HR monitor on the machine says my heart sometimes gets up to 180 BPM and usually hovers around 160 - 170. I'm sure 160 is fine, but is it ok for my HR to get up to 180, especially when I haven't exercised in a while?

This is so stupid but I m really embarrassed about it.

I go to an all-girls school so I literally do not know any boys. We have to take dates if we are going to prom, and I wanted to go since my friends were going. I asked my neighbor that I haven t talked to in 10 years and he s a nice guy, so he agreed. I m really shy so I haven t talked to him much, but today my friend convinced me to follow him on insta gram. I did, and he accepted my follow but did not follow back. I KNOW this is extremely stupid but I get embarrassed easily. Does he think I m creepy or ugly or something? Please help (and it doesn t help to say I m stupid for worrying, thanks in advance :)

My internet only seems to work sometimes. There is a password on it, but I have it entered in, so that isn't the problem. Sometimes it works if disconnect and reconnect to the network. Most of the time I have to restart my laptop and it will work. It will work perfectly fine for months and then randomly starts making me restart the laptop to get the internet to work. How can I fix this?

P.S. If it helps I have a Lenovo L420 running Windows 7. Also, I rarely turn it off; I leave it in sleep mode because it takes forever to start up otherwise.

I ve never been to a prom before, and most of the dresses I ve seen are $300+. Are there are stores that have prom dresses less than $200? (actually, $150 or less would be ideal but I feel like that s hard to find? Maybe I m just looking in the wrong places)

I'm 15 and had some brown spotting and sore nipples today with mild abdominal cramps. I googled it and everything just says it's a sign of pregnancy. But I'm a virgin lol.

Is this just my period being weird or some other illness? Please help me out!

P.S. If it makes any difference I was due last week but it never came. Again, there is NO chance of pregnancy lol

Someone at my school who I sort of know iinvited me to her Halloween party, but I don't know if there's gonna be any alcohol (someone close to me was an alcoholic so don't just call me a chicken or something ok?). I don't know, they've just been really horrible lately. They've been excluding me from plans and making fun of me constantly (I know you're about to say stop being a baby, but when its everyday you would get tired of it too.). I don't know what to do. On one hand, they make me feel horrible about myself, but on the other hand, they give me someone to sit next to at lunch and in my classes. I don't wanna be alone, but I can't deal with them. I'm a junior in high school, so switching friend groups would be very hard. Please help.

I just got my learner's permit and went driving in a parking lot yesterday. I didn't think driving would be so hard. I put my foot on the gas and it went really fast and I couldn't really turn and now I'm scared. How can I NOT be afraid of driving??

Homecoming is very soon at my school, so I want to find a dress...where do people usually buy them?

(Last year I got mine at Charlotte Russe, but I don't really like any of their dresses this year)

Hi, so I'm going to NYC with some friends for my birthday. We've all been to the city many times since we live nearby, so we're looking for somewhere we've never been before (i.e. we've been to the typical touristy places like the M and M store, Hershey store, etc.) Where do you think we should visit either in Times Square or the surrounding area?

I'm going to a sleepaway camp for 2 weeks tomorrow, and I'm really upset about it. It's about 90 minutes from my house. I guess I'm nervous because I've been to a sleepaway camp for 2 weeks before, but I was extremely homesick the whole time and felt like I had no friends. I mean, I cried for the first 4 days. I can't do that anymore, I'm almost 16. I don't want people to think I'm a freak or something. I can't get out of going to camp, so PLEASE HELP ME!!

P.S. I've read a bunch of articles about beating homesickness and whatnot, so I know you should not think about home, make a list of fun things at the camp, bring something from home, etc. Nothing helped last time.

So I've been feeling like I've had anxiety for about a year or so. I've been looking up symptoms (on the Mayo Clinic website) and here are some I have:

-Feeling nervous

-Feeling an impending sense of doom/panic (especially now because the school year just ended and were going on vacation and travel makes me nervous. I really like to stay at home.)

-Sweating/trembling (not all the time, but when I'm especially panicked)

-Panic attacks (had 3 full on where I couldn't breathe)

-Feeling weak/tired/headachey (although it could be due to my hypoglycemia)

I think I at least have separation anxiety. I'm almost 16 and when we went on a school trip 3 hours away from home, I almost had a panic attack the first night because my parents weren't there and I didn't feel safe since I wasn't at home

What do you think? And how can I control/lessen some of my anxieties?

I'm nervous about my audition for Singing in the Rain tomorrow. I know the number 1 rule is to appear confident at all times, but that's a little hard when you're shaking lol. Hi there, I'm a 15 year old girl auditioning for Singing in the Rain. I'm an alto, and I have no idea what song to choose. Here are some things I'm thinking of:

-Roxie (Chicago)

-You're the Top (Anything Goes)

-Swinging on a Star (Frank Sinatra I believe)

HOWEVER, I'm worried that Roxie isn't the right era and I'm worried that the last two don't show enough range. What do you think + can you suggest some songs?

We're doing literary circles in my English class and I have to be the artistic representative, meaning I have to find a picture symbolizing the chapters we read and write why I chose that picture. We just finished the book, so it was mainly about the carousel.

My school is doing Singing in the Rain this fall, and I don't know what song to sing for auditions. It has to be something upbeat, and I would like it to be jazzy/swingy, like something from around that era. So I have two questions:

2. What song (or songs) would you do?

P.S. I am NOT going to do anything from Singing in the Rain, Wicked, or Frozen lol + I am an alto 2 so I can hit pretty low notes but can only really sing up to a high C (the one above middle C)
