I ve seen some videos, read some horror stories, learned a little about the officer-dispatcher relationship, but I m wondering if there is anything special I should know about before I go in to interview so I can wow them! Advice?

Hey guys, first time D&D and I'm a girl so I'm tyring not to look like an idiot in front of my male co-players. I was thinking of a half-elf druid for a character. I definitely want to be relatively neutral and use magic since it would be a good balance with my party, but are elf druids any better? Or is there something else decently powerful that can vary so much in its abilities? And what abilities would be the most important besides wisdom? Thanks
