I live near Cambridge in the UK and am studying at a village college. I love languages- I have French, English, Spanish, German and Polish ancestry, and can speak English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch and Latin... I am strongly interested in the sciences, especially ecology and biology, as well as maths, art, music, literature, history, geography, culture and beliefs, religion and almost anything really... I love nature and reading, I have lots of pastimes and I do quite a lot of sport. I have a passion for learning and also love to help out and teach others! I'm quite studious and passionate about what I believe in, I'm a keen campaigner and conservationist and also a bit of a conversationalist! I have friends around the world and at school I participate in all sorts of extra-curricular activities ranging from Amnesty International to mock trials and from partnering with a school in Sri Lanka to creating a school e-magazine.
Prediction for the HNMR spectrum for butyraldehyde?
I was doing some practice chemistry questions and came across this one that asks you to predict the HNMR spectrum for butyraldehyde, CH3CH2CH2COH. I figured that there'd be a downfield triplet from the aldehyde group, and an upfield triplet from the methyl group. But what would the two methylene groups produce? I read somewhere that they'd produce two quartets, but I don't understand how they can both do this... The first methylene group (next to the methyl group) would surely produce a quartet, but then why wouldn't the second, which is next to the aldehyde group, produce a doublet as the n+1 rule would suggest?

I'm currently drawing a graph where I've plotted the acceleration of an object (m/s2) against the angle of elevation of the slope along which the object is travelling and I can't work out what kind of relationship there is between the two... Can anyone help? I need to decide what kind of curve to draw and work out its equation. Will it be an exponential relationship, or a power or what? :S
2 AntwortenMathematicsvor 1 JahrzehntHow old do you have to be to own an allotment in the UK? Is there an age limit or does the land owner decide?
I'm interested in renting an allotment in Cambridgeshire, but I'm only 15 years old- does anyone know if there are any legal restrictions on how old you have to be to rent an allotment, or would it just be easier to get my parents to rent it for me and pay them back?
