I have a class 15 Singer sewing machine. It has sat for a couple of years (not in my possession) and tonight I have taken the time to (finally) do a bit of maintenance. I have taken the plate off and cleaned everything out. I also made sure to oil the whole machine and cleaned out between the tension discs. I have also made sure to change the needle and made sure that I could wind a bobbin, etc.

NOW, when I tried to do the sew test, it was still not working. The top thread keeps getting wound around something in the bobbin casing. Also, whenever I put the presser foot down, thread will not move at all and keeps snapping.. When the presser foot is up, I can pull thread through without any problem. I'm pretty sure that that's the problem but I don't know what I can do to fix it. I don't have money enough to get it serviced so anything that I can do myself would be greatly appreciated.

I would also appreciate serious replies only as I really need to get this problem taken care of. Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

Okay, the story gets really interesting and I would love to know the opinions of everyone. Now, keep in mind that this is a crazy story and really needs some sensitivity (for me). Here we go... I met my now husband 2 years ago. He told me that he had 2 kids from 2 different mothers but he wasn't sure if either of them were really his because both women were untrustworthy and had cheated on him. The first was his first wife who said that he should question whether or not the child was his and the second, never even told him that she was pregnant until a month before the child was born. He is forced to pay child support for both of them. Neither had had a paternity test done. Now, we have our own daughter to worry about and want to know if the others are really his (since he hasn't seen them in about 2 years). What would you do? Demand a paternity test for both of the children OR continue paying support for the next many years? I'm asking for honest answers and no judgments. I'm looking for a bit of legal advice as well seeing as how this is a big commitment and a lot of money... Please don't think that I am heartless because I'm not. I'm very willing to get to know these children. I want to get to know them and love them as my own (if they are truly his)... What should we do?

I bought a 2004 Elantra 3 months ago. All was going well and all of the sudden, 4 days after the warranty expired, my window fell off of the track and my seat belt won't stay connected. I'm not sure what I should do. My options seem limited. I'm wondering if I should go back to the dealer and ask them to fix it or if I should go to the Better Business Bureau and let them know what kind of cars they are selling. Does anyone have any better suggestions? I paid a lot of money for this car and expected it to last more than 3 months. Please help! Serious answers only please.

I just had a baby girl two weeks ago this Tuesday. She gets up about every two to three hours to eat. I was wondering if anyone knows how much my little girl should be eating during each feeding to help her sleep better at night. She's formula fed (I am unable to breastfeed as I don't produce enough milk for her). Any information would be helpful! Thanks!!

We had to paint a couple of rooms and my fiance got semi gloss paint on his pants and shirt. Is there any way to get the paint out of the clothing? We're willing to try any suggestions. Serious answers only please!

My fiance busted his knee while working for a fast food chain. This was back in February. He's since then contacted a lawyer who said that he was going to figure out what his knee is worth and since the fast food place has officially taken away his military career, I'm assuming it's worth quite a bit. He had planned on being in for a total of 21 years and now, he's only got 8 in. He's also now having trouble at his new job and if surgery is needed, that will be lost wages there as well. The chain has also refused to pay his medical bills that he's wracked up since his accident (totaling over $3000) and has since fired him. I'm just wondering, with all of these factors, how much is his knee worth?

I have found no record of anything abdomen related in the term "para" as either a combining form OR as a prefix... So, why then does paracentesis begin with para? Do they go beside something when they insert the needle? Is it because they're removing abnormal fluid? I need to find out for a class because the teacher was stumped as well!!! Anyone who can give insight, it would be appreciated!

My fiance and I are sitting here talking about whether or not animals are considered by the U.S. Government to be citizens of the United States. I say that since they are born in the US, they should be considered citizens as anyone else who is born in the US. Not to mention the fact that it is not easy for people to transport their pets to another country without the proper paperwork and shots, just as humans are. He says that since they are "just animals", they are NOT considered citizens. What do you think and can anyone find any credible website stating either way?

A couple weeks ago, I pulled my butt muscle when drying off from taking a shower. I'm also about 28 weeks pregnant and don't really feel comfortable taking medications for it. Is there any sort of stretching that I can safely do to make the pain go away? It seems to get worse whenever I bend or lose my balance or whatever the case may be. Please help!!

I have a neighbor who is the sweetest lady in the world. Her boyfriend is a wickedly nice guy as well but whenever he's not working, he has a beer in his hand. He generally goes through at least a 12 pack a day if not more. He gets very loud and annoying when he's drunk but never really realizes what he says or does after a while. She is getting really tired of his drinking and wants to help him. How should she go about doing so and what options are there? How do you help someone that doesn't know that they need help? Any advice would be great and please refrain from badmouthing these people. Thanks to all who help out!

I was expecting (because I got my refund direct deposited) that I would get the Stimulus Check direct deposited (by today) as well... No. Come to find out, because I used Turbo Tax and had my fee taken out of my refund, they are MAILING me my check!! Did anyone know about this when they presented the idea of a Stimulus Package?? Why wasn't there more information regarding this in the letters that were sent out? I think it's really unfair of the IRS to change the rules like that and lead people on. Now, I have to wait until nearly July before I see any of that money! Who else is upset by this??

At the doctor's office, I love to hear the heartbeat of my baby and know that everything is all right. Is purchasing a doppler for home use worth it and how much is it for a good one? What are the downsides to having one and how far along do you have to be before it will work properly? I really don't know much about them and any information would be helpful! Thanks!

I posted a resume on Monster.com and received an email from eMarket Solutions. It sounds like a legit company but when looked at more closely, it seems a bit odd. Has anyone worked for them before and would you recomend it?

I have seen firsthand that there is black mold growing in Campus Wings restaurant in Vestal, NY. Does anyone else have any information pertaining to any other restaurants in this area with mold problems??

My boyfriend and I are attempting to start a cleaning business and so far, we're doing really well. However, when it comes to the contract agreement, I'm not sure where to start! What kind of information do you NEED in the contract, what is a good idea to include in there and also, what information should be avoided? I've started going back through all of the Garfield comic strips and I have so many of the characters that I like but my personal favorite (though he was only in four strips that I know of) is Biff the college intern. I'm going to be trying out for a play in my area. This particular play is (to say the least) a bit show-off-ish. It will be the first of it's kind that I have done... Assuming that I get cast.

Now, I'm worried about my looks and I want to do something about it. My problem is the fact that I'm a wickedly picky eater and can't stand most veggies. Fruits I can eat for the most part. I know too that I also have to start exercising and quit smoking. All of this is all well and good... But... Where do you begin? This is very serious and of the utmost importance to me. I need to know what kind of schedule I should keep with work out routines, what things to eat and how often, how much, and what is the best way to quit smoking (all at the same time)?
