Hi, I'm looking to buy a small car.

Finances are limited, so I've settled on these two options:

1. Peugeot 106, year 2001, 168000km, with power steering, power windows, central lock, injection, 4 doors, and new tyres. No aircon and poor audio system, 1100cc

I've tested it and found that the gear shift jiggles a bit and needs some sort of repair work to be done. The sheet metal is not in perfect condition although its alright.

2. Nissan March AK 11, year 1998,141000km, full options, p/s, p/w, aircon, injection, 2 doors, good audio system, 999cc. To be tested today, it'll be more expensive by 0,3.

Keeping in mind that the nissan will probably have better resale value where i live, and will be easier to maintain as spare parts are more easily available.

I just need a small car to drive from one place to another, no fancy stuff (though i love me some good music while driving)

Im on a budget, and the n7000 seems the better bang for the money despite the Grand being more recent.

Also not sure about the n7000 upgrading easily to Jelly Bean.

THe thing is that on the asus specs, it is mentioned that the bus is PCI, so far so good, but looking at the picture of the xonar xg, its "wedge" (don't know how to call that) seems longer than a standard PCI space.

Thinking of buying the sound card very soon...

One website I've been browsing offers an anti-dirt or smudge(something like that its in french) and UV400 protection.

Is it worth it? Especially considering I will be definitely taking anti reflect and scratch resistant coatings. Are these coatings compatible?

OK, seems to me most websites promote plastic lenses.

I want glass lenses which are clearer and scratch less.

Any website where i can buy spectacles with *glass* lenses? They need to cater for strong prescriptions: -8.

Those are small electric shocks that I felt while the computer is actually running and they worry me.

I felt it the first time when I put my hand on the side of the desktop tower - from the outside.

Then I shut the pc down, and didn't feel shocks anymore but when I opened the side panel to look inside, by just feeling across the inside tower framework I got a shock.

I don't know if it can be described as static electricity as when the computer doesn't run I don't get those shocks.

I'm no techie - but before I send it to the repairman's can I get an opinion of what may be wrong? Power supply? Connections? Defective casing?

This just popped up in my mind.

Ok my nvidia 7600gt is kaput and I need to replace the graphic card.

I have a 2.4 core 2 duo and 2 gb ram...

I may upgrade the power supply in time, but I need my olde pc asap.

So As soon as I turn on the computer, I get a garbled display

Windows does not start, except in safe mode.

I don't think the CRT monitor is at fault as I tried using another monitor and the problem is still there.

Is it the video card? (7600GT)

I really want the programs, so I've been wondering if after copying to some location, I can try AVG 8 (free edition) to remove the threats on the copied files.

If not, Can I copy the files on a Pen drive (its large enough) to try to remove the viruses from the pen drive?

Ok , im going to start listening (seriously) to sonic youth.

Which album should I get?

I know what the obvious answer is going to be daydream nation.

But I like taking things from different route.

For instance my first pixies abum was bossanova, and while I recognise surfer rosa and doolittle as the masterpieces, I have a particular fondness for bossanova.

I can say the same for Bowie's Space Oddity, or King Crimson's In the Wake of Poseidon.

So, considering what I've just told, which album should I get.

(also, I'm a slow listener so I won't try another SY album before months)

BQ: Do you have a similar case of one album where you know its not the artist/ band best offering yet you have some special love for it all the same?

What smart playlist do you most make use of? In which situation do you listen to the said playlist.

Here's mine:

2. Genre contains "Folk"

3. Genre does not contain "Folk-Rock"

4. Genre does not contain "Folk Rock"

Note: Your mp3 tags must be quite precise and orderly - a truly tedious job it can be sometimes to edit them!

Result: Most songs in the playlist are only pure gentle acoustic folk songs. I use it mostly on shuffle on my dock alarm clock when I go to bed and I wake up. :)

Other smart playlist I use are: French (self explanatory) and New Wave.
