  • Perm over brazilian blowout?

My hair is naturally very curly. About 11 months ago i got a Brazilian blowout. Now all of my new growth is curly and the rest is still bone straight! I want my curls back, so can you perm on top of the Brazilian?

  • I got a Brazilian blowout about a year ago...?

And I'm letting my natural curls grow back out. But the problem is, the new growth is all wavy and the bottom half of my hair is still stick straight! I am always either wearing my hair in a ponytail which is breaking the new growth or wearing a scarf. I don't want to flat iron it because doing that repeatedly will take the natural curl out. Help!

  • What else can I do with my RN degree?

I have been working as an RN for almost a year now and it really isn't what I thought it would be. I have worked in a nursing home and am currently a floor nurse in a critical care unit of a major hospital. Obviously, there are many specialty fields, but I'm not sure patient care is what I want to do on any level...so what I'm looking for are some outside of the box ideas or suggestions. I do still find the medical field interesting, and I don't want to waste my degree. But I am not happy with what I'm doing. Help!

  • Questions about Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans?

I recently graduated registered nursing school and got my RN license about a month ago. I live in Florida, which is apparently the only state in this country with a surplus of nurses. I am having a very difficult time finding a job here. I may have an opportunity to move to New Orleans in the very near future, and am wondering if Oschner hires new nurses. I have passed the NCLEX and have a valid, current license in Florida.

  • High Schools in New Orleans?

We may be moving to the French Quarter in New Orleans. I'm curious about the schools there. My son is a high school sophomore this year. What school would he go to? How are the schools that are zoned for people living in the French Quarter?

  • Question about the NLN Exam?

I am considering moving to New Orleans and noticed that for some of the nursing positions posted on Oschner's website one of the requirements is to have passed the NLN. I had never heard of the NLN so I looked it up online and it appears that this test is used as preparation for the NCLEX. I've already taken and passed the NCLEX, so I'm wondering if I would still have to take the NLN...

  • Is my Florida RN license good in Mississippi, Alabama, and/or Louisiana?

I've just graduated from an RN program in Florida and am having trouble finding a job. I am considering moving to one of the three states listed above, but not sure if these states are reciprocal.

  • I need a traditional Australian recipe idea...?

We are having an international pot luck lunch for my graduating RN class, and the country I have is Australia. I need to make a traditional dish that's inexpensive and not too time consuming to make, and that will feed about 35 people. Any ideas are appreciated!

  • Questions about the Navy Reserve Nurse Corps...?

1: Do you have to have a BSN to join? Or do you just have to have an Associates degree? I have a general AA, and will have an AS in registered nursing in April when I graduate.

2: Do you go to regular boot camp, and where will they send you? Anywhere they want, or someplace close to where you live?

3: How many years are you committed?

4: What is the risk for deployment?

5: The Navy website tells all about the upside to joining...but what is the downside?

I appreciate any information anyone can give...I'm interested in this but I know if I talk to a recruiter I'll never get rid of him/her!

  • Can anyone give me a good estimate of the starting salary for RN's in Northeast Florida?

I have looked up and found average salaries, but average does not necessarily represent starting salary. I'm looking into med-surg, but also kidney dialysis in a clinic setting. Please keep in mind, I'm looking for information on STARTING salaries, NOT average salaries.

  • Guardian angel painting?

The painting I am looking for depicts a dark haired male angel at the head of the crib of a dark haired, sleeping baby...approximately 6-12 months old. The painting appeared to be from the late 1800's to early 1900's. If anyone can help me out with possible artists or titles, I would greatly appreciate it. Possibly catalouged in "Abbey Press..." in 1996-1997...

  • Is there any way to get melted crayon out of clothes?

My 13 year old does his own laundry, which is great, except that he never empties the pockets. Apparently, for some unimaginable reason, he had crayons in his pockets this time, and these were not discovered until the dryer had already been run. Now, some of the clothes have crayon marks of all colors all over them. Any suggestions? If not, I'm out about $75 worth....

  • I am looking for EDUCATED opinions on how this health care reform will affect my future career as a nurse...?

I am not and was never for this reform, I feel that it is unconstitutional and will surely lead to disaster. However, I would like to hear views from either/both sides about what will happen to those of us in nursing school once we graduate and go to get jobs. Will there be more jobs or less jobs? Will we get paid less? (Certainly seems that we will). Again, I'm looking for EDUCATED opinions please, not angry rants and raves about why you hate or love this bill.

  • Why is it that the more intelligent one becomes...?

the sadder and more depressing the world becomes? I thought life's lessons and growing up were supposed to be learning experiences that enhance your life...not colossal, soul crushing let downs, coupled with the realization that this is really not a very nice place to be.

  • Can anyone tell me who to contact with a complaint about the RN program I'm attending?

I am an RN student at a community college in the state of Florida. I have well, had a 3.8 and got my AA degree with honors. But since I started the RN program at the same school, my grades have dropped. We have different instructors for clinicals than for lecture, and my clinical instructor says that I am doing a great job on the floor and as far as my skills and knowledge are concerned, should not be having trouble. However, almost 2/3 of my class failed the last exam in class. I recently found out that my school does not have a dean for the nursing program and was audited last semester by the state because the number of students that passed the NCLEX was too low (only about 60 percent). Other students are having the same problem, and we have no dean so we have no one to go to. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I need something that will keep my hair off my collar, but cover the tattoo...any ideas?
