"I disapprove of your having told her a lie yesterday". Can we use here just ".. of your telling a lie" or not?
I mean like this "I disapprove of your telling her a lie yesterday".
I know that in colloquial speech we can use this. But i'm asking only about Grammar. Is it grammatically correct here to use only "telling" instead of "having told"? It seems that the word "yesterday" shows that this phrase is about the Past, so we don't have any necessity to use "having told". am I right or not?
Please don't provide other variants of this phrase. We study Unint "Gerund". So it's only about gerunds.
2 AntwortenFriendsvor 7 JahrenNatives, pls, tell me. "Excuse me for my leaving you yesterday". Can I use here "having left"? It'll be correct?
I mean like this: "Excuse me for my having left you yesterday"
Our teacher says, if "Excuse me" it is imperative mood, so we can't use "having left' here. Is he right?

I know it's weird. And I'm afraid to offer this to her, coz Idk her reaction. So, girls, how you'd react to this? Would you agree to put your feet on your boyfriend's face?

please explain to me, may I use in this sentence Past Simple?
The sentence "He came to our city 3 years ago after he had graduated from University"
I mean may i change "had graduated" to just 'graduated'
May I use like this "He came to our city 3 years ago after he graduated from University"
Using Past Simple in the second case will be grammatically correct and used by nowadays English native speakers? Or it will be a mistake I can only use Past Perfect?
I know that "after graduating from uni" can be used, but i need only to settle the dispute.

Elle a vraiment presque pleuré. Elle a dit que les Français veulent toujours montrer leur supériorité et d'humilier les immigrés d'Afrique et d'autres pays ... particulièrement il s'agit des Noirs..
