Hi! I am an English-teacher currently working in Shijiazhuang, China. I have a German citizenship but I grew up in the UK and in Switzerland. I love shopping, reading, surfing the net and horse-back riding. I'm an animal-lover and a vegetarian.
Should I start an Ausbildung or finish my HND?
At the moment I live in Offenbach near Frankfurt. I have been living in China for the last seven years ever since I graduated from an international high school. Now I am back in Germany and it's difficult for me to find a good job because everyone else has done an Ausbildung (apprenticeship) and I don't have that. However, I have started doing a HND (Higher National Diploma) through distance-learning in Business Management whilst I lived in China. Eventually, I can top it up and get a Bachelor's degree from a British university. The problem is that qualifications from other countries are not recognised in Germany. They are usually seen as inferior. However, next year I can start an apprenticeship and get a qualification that's accredited in Germany. However, that will take up time and money and I don't think I can do both the diploma and the apprenticeship.
I'm interested in living and working in Germany for a good many years. So would it be better for my career in Germany to do an apprenticeship or do my diploma and eventually get a bachelor's?
And, BTW I know this is TRAVEL Germany. The reason I'm posting my question here is because this is where all the German's hang out.
1 AntwortOther - Germanyvor 1 JahrzehntWhat do I need in order to apply for an ausbildung as konditorin in Germany?
I would like to start training to become a pastry chef. I found the contact details of a company who are looking for an apprentice to start immediately. I called them and they told me to send this stuff to their address. I didn´t quite catch what they said. How do people in Germany apply for an apprenticeship? Do I have to fill out a form? How can I find one? Do I need a CV? High school diploma? All of those? Thanks for your help.
2 AntwortenImmigrationvor 1 JahrzehntWhat jobs can we do in Frankfurt?
At the end of August of this year I would like to move to Frankfurt. A few weeks/months later my Chinese husband will join me. I am a German citizen but I grew up in England. My native language is English but I speak German almost fluently. I only struggle with some very professional, difficult German words. I studied Chinese up to Intermediate level in a university in Tianjin. I can speak the language very well, although I only did a general course and I don't have a degree. For the last two years I've been working as an English teacher in a training school here in China. I also have TEFL.
My husband's German is still very basic but he can speak English very well. He studied Marine Engineering in college. He has a qualification equivalent to an associate's degree in the US or a diploma in the UK. However, the job that he has been doing is entirely different to his major. Since he graduated three years ago he worked in International Trade, selling natural casings to European companies.
What kind of jobs can we do in Frankfurt with our experience and qualifications? I know Frankfurt is expensive but will we earn enough money to be able to live? Thanks in advance for any input.
2 AntwortenFrankfurtvor 1 JahrzehntI am an EU citizen, but not British, can I take my Chinese husband to live with me in the UK?
I was born in Germany and my passport is German. However, I grew up in the UK with the British language and culture and I want to settle in the UK with my Chinese husband. I like Germany, but I don't speak German that well and feel a bit out of place there. I know that if I live in Britain for five years I can become a naturalized British but I haven't been a resident for ten years. Is it possible for the both of us to live permanently in the UK? Can my husband get permanent residence in Britain? I really want to live there together with him
7 AntwortenImmigrationvor 1 JahrzehntShould we split the rent or should I pay it all?
My partner and I share an apartment but we receive unequal salaries each month. We're having a bit of a conflict on how much of the rent both of us are obligated to pay. My salary is about four times as much as his. So, just say that I receive $7400 a month, and he receives $1800, and the rent is $950, how much of the rent should we both pay? BTW, we have been together for years. Plus, $1000 is perfectly fine to live on where we live.
a) We split the rent evenly: he pays $475 and I pay $475.
b) We pay according to our salaries, so I pay about 4 times as much rent as he does. I pay $764, and he pays $186.
c) I pay for the entire rent.
d) Any other suggestions?
Do you think it's unfair on me if I pay for the whole rent? Do you think it's unfair on my partner if he has to pay just as much as I do even though he earns less money? What would YOU do if you were in my situation?

Or can it only come naturally? Are those people who have had plastic surgeries essentially beautiful or is their beauty just artificial?

Nowadays we have contraception like condoms and birth control pills, but they were not always around. However, the "world's oldest profession" has been around for millenia so how could they continue their jobs without any inconveniences?
