I've read some online blogs about taking the busses, it seems fairly easy enough in theory, I am just wondering if anyone here has ever done it. We are two women in our mid twenties, and just want to make sure its safe. We may take a flight back, but are looking to cut down on cost, see some scenery and have an experience in the process.

If you have taken the bus, how long did it take? Its esitimated at seven hours, but the busses stop often which they say will add "quite a bit" to the trip... do you know what quite a bit might mean?

And finally... I know that the last stop is at the border. However, what kind of area is this? We have a friend whose family lives there and can come pick us up, but we just don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere until they can get there.

Does anyone know if there is a family discount when buying a car? I know there is one when renting, just not sure about if your purchase through them.

Every article is so obsessed with how we are paying for the bill and how others are opposed etc... but seriously all arguments aside... what is this really going to do for say... me.. the middle class?

My phone broke today, and I had no idea I declined insurance when I purchased it, so now I need to get a completely new phone. I'm not really worried about the price as I am due for an upgrade so I get a discount. I am just wondering what the newest and best phones are that are available. I've been through verizon.com.... but everything looks the same.

Basically, if I'm gonna spend the money I want to get the best phone..

I text a lot and I wouldn't mind having facebook on my cell... but don't REALLY need it.

I know this sounds silly, but my electric bill has jumped about 125 dollars in the last couple months. I have vaulted ceilings, so it is very hard for me to change the bulbs high up. I have more than enough lights and lamps so its really not an issue for me to change them right now. However, by force of habit, forgetfullness I sometimes flick the wrong switch and so the switch is on, but no light b/c of the bulbs. I live in a 600 sq ft apt, alone, and I am rarely home. I used over 4,000 units of electricty last month. I was out of town for ten days during the period, with heat and all lights off. I already called the electric company who say that there is no problem, and I must have my heat up high (I keep it at 65 and at 55 when not home)

what gives... any ideas??

They were offering free makeup at Clinique and other mall counters today due to a lawsuit or recall dating back to 2003. I heard you didn't need a reciept, you just had to have made a purchase from 97 to 03 I believe. Did anyone go and get some free stuff? If so, how did you prove you had made the purchase????

I live in a very small building. A new neighbor is moving in and for some reason turned off the hot water in the basment... which turned off everyone's hot water. I'm the only other tenent home. How long would you wait until you asked them to go back down and turn it on? I have not met them yet, and would turn it on myself, but I have not the slightest idea how. Also, to be honest.. the basment is kinda scary.
