How to get custody of children who aren't your own?
SO here's my story, My sister has two children, both with her husband, but neither her or her husband are good parents. They are horrible, my nephew (the youngest) will be 5 this year and they haven't worked with him on anything! He hardly knows how to talk, he doesn't know his alphabet or his numbers, my goodness he can't even count to 5! He thinks it's ok to hit people, he curses, and tells people to shut up. My niece, on the other hand, was pretty much raised by my mom and me, she's 8, and she is so smart, and she realizes that her parents could do better. I am 18, I have a son who will be 3 in June and he knows more then my nephew. I am doing better then my 28 year old sister financially, and with raising my child.
I am afraid that if they continue to raise them how they have been, then my nephew will end up in Jail at a young age and my niece will end up a teen mom. It terrifies me to think these things but if my mom or I don't step in soon then I see these becoming reality. My mom had my nephew signed up for Head Start, but my sister didn't take him, he is socially awkward because she keeps him at home all the time.
I am asking for information on what I need to do to get custody, and I know I have to be financially stable and have a place to live, but what else do I need to do? How do I prove they are unfit? How long could the process take? Also, if their parents aren't in jail, should I let them stay the night with them often? I am also afraid that if I take them my niece and nephew will hate me for taking them from their parents. And their father's family is horrible too, should I let them stay the night with them?
I have so many questions and concerns, but I don't want to stand back and watch my niece and nephew ruin their lives because of their parents. Please, help me out! & Thank you for reading!
2 AntwortenParentingvor 8 Jahren2 year old hardly eats, only drinks milk?
My son has always been sort of a "picky eater". Except the problem is that he doesn't eat. I make him delicious, healthy meals and I'll be lucky if he even picks at it. He has always been like this. Also, he will only drink milk. If I put something else in his sippy cup, he won't even touch it until it's been washed with the rest of the dishes. I even tried giving him chocolate milk one time (to try to switch things up) and he wouldn't touch it either! His doctor says there is nothing wrong with him, but I can't help but to be concerned. Does anybody have any ideas, tips, or advice that will help me? I've also tried to bribe him with cookies, toys, etc. if he would eat atleast one thing on his plate. I am worried about how his body is doing with hardly any food. Please, if anybody can help me it would be much appreciated!

1 AntwortAdolescentvor 9 JahrenHave any other moms felt swollen very early in pregnancy?
If I am pregnant I would be about 6-8 weeks, but I have been kind of swollen lately. When I was pregnant with my first son, I started to swell in my third trimester. But I'm curious if anyone else has swollen in their 1st trimester. I can't even get my rings off without lotion! And my feet feel kind of swollen , too. Twins do run in my family, could that be the cause of early swelling? Thank you for any information.
1 AntwortPregnancyvor 9 JahrenWeight Gain, urination every hour, acid reflux?
So, lately I've been noticing that I am gaining weight, but only around my belly button and outward, not outward and on my sides. Also, At night I tend to have to urinate every hour or so, and at daytime it's about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I get hungry more often than usual, and I'm not really craving anything specific, but when I get a craving it is out of no where and lasts until I get it or something similar. The acid reflux happens when I lay down, or sit down, which may be normal... but I also think I've been more tired than usual... I do not have a regular period, but I have been having slight cramps which I'm pretty sure are not menstrual cramps. Does this sound like a pregnancy to you? I am not having many symptoms, and with my first pregnancy I knew right away I was pregnant. I am just confused and the tests I have taken all come out negative :/ If I was pregnant I would be between 6-8 weeks. Thank you for answers.

2 AntwortenOther - Internetvor 9 JahrenWebsite to share child loss stories?
It was 2 years ago, and something I didn't have control over. It's called vanishing twin syndrome. And every day I can't help but think of that little baby that could be growing up right beside his/her brother. I won't go into to much detail because some people on here take things the wrong way and leave rude comments. Like I said, It's been 2 years, and I have hardly talked to anyone about it, not because I don't want to, but because they don't understand and they think it's a hard subject for me. Although, I miss my baby, I do want to talk about him/her. I don't want to pretend they never existed. So my question is, Can somebody please tell me some websites where I can share my story? I know of one where there are pictures of the mothers, and underneath it says "I am the face of...." but I am not sure what that website is called, so if someone knows of this one... that would be great. Thank you for reading.

3 AntwortenOther - Food & Drinkvor 9 JahrenOral surgery, Iv, what could happen to the baby?
Okay, first of all, I'm not pregnant, but I was wondering, If someone was pregnant (not very far along), and they didn't know how could oral surgery affect the pregnancy? Would it cause deformities? miscarriage? I would just like to know. example : Someone had the IV and had their wisdom teeth removed. Or if not the IV the were put to sleep. I'm obviously not a dental hygienist, so I'm not sure of all the methods they use to "knock" someone out. Thank anyone for your answers, and please, keep rude comments to yourself.

2 AntwortenHobbies & Craftsvor 9 JahrenPerfect dog for family with young children?
I am trying to do as much research as possible before deciding which dog I would like to save up for. My son is 2 right now, obviously he will be much older when we can afford a dog (the ones I want are kind of expensive) But I would like to hear from people with these dogs (or similar/other good dogs) who can help me decide. I'm looking for a breed who are good with children, preferably don't shed to much, watch dogs etc. If you can please tell me any health problems the dog has and what you have to do to keep them groomed, that would be great. Here are the types I absolutely adore : Shih Tzu, Maltese, Havanese, Chow-Chow, Akita, and my favorite Bichon Frise. Thank you for any information you can give :)
11 AntwortenDogsvor 9 JahrenTeen mom at 15, your opinion on my decisions?
Okay first of all, don't call me a whore. I'm not. Don't call me stupid, I am a very smart person. Alright. Well, When I was 14 I got pregnant, I was with my bf for 9 months. I told him, and my parents the very next day I found out. Abortion and Adoption was never and option for me. I was a freshman in high school, and people did talk, but more people were very nice to me and would love to feel my growing belly. When I was 15, I gave birth via c-section. Not because I'm small but because there was a prolapsed cord. My son weighed 5 lbs 2 oz, and even though I had him in the room with me most of the time, I don't remember much because of the pain and the epidural. (The whole hospital stay I was exhausted). I did try to breastfeed, although he did not latch on right and made my nipples bleed (ouch). I tried to give him the best formula, besides what was provided on wic. My bf stayed at the hospital for the first 3 nights, then he had to go because of work. When I left the hospital he did come stay a few nights out of the week (for the next few weeks). When I came back to school I was interested in the CNA program my school offered, the next semester I took the class, and now I am a certified nurse aid. I do not let my son stay with his father that often, not because I don't love or trust him (which I DO love and trust him) but because I just preferred my son to stay with me. I did have a crib, but I felt he was safer if he slept with me (he still sleeps in the bed with me, and he's 2) I have made many accomplishments and now I have bigger life goals since I became pregnant. I try to feed him healthy, I don't hang out with friends (by choice) I don't go "clubbin" I look at myself as a down to earth person, who tries very hard. I am excelling in my medical classes, although my math class isn't that great, I do try. I think I just need someone to tell me that I am doing a good job, and that I can still make it. Lately, I have felt like I am failing to succeed in life, and I just want my son to have the best quality of life I can give him for the future. (His life quality is really great right now) To sum this up I am 17, I have been with the father of my child for 3 years (he tries to be a good dad too) and I still live with my parents and Don't plan on leaving until I know I can make it on my own. Sorry if this is too long, I tried to make it short. If there are any questions for extra detail please ask.

My fiance' and I have been talking about baby names for our future children. (Our first is Adrian Lynne) We chose the first names Isabella (girl, obviously) and Kierce (boy). I have been thinking about the middle names, and I want some opinions. I feel like Isabella Grace sounds good. Or Isabel Grace... And Kierce Matthew. Our last name will be Campbell, if that helps any. Thank you for taking time to read.

I want to have my son home schooled when he starts school, but I want him to still be social. He is in preschool right now, and he will remain there until head start. Are there certain programs or things I can do to keep him social and involved with other kids? Or should I just schedule regular play dates until he's to old for it to be called a play date?
