I am charged with shoplifting and assault for kicking the security guard in the shin. 

I have been arrested for shoplifting once in the past but the cops didn’t pursue charges and released me. I also have been charged for assault in the past and the charges were dismissed if I agreed to a peace bond. This assault charge was 9 years ago and I have proof that I never actually assaulted anyone. The real offender got lost in the crowd and they thought it was me. In the disclosure provided they have a video of me talking to the guy I assaulted but nowhere in the video am I even touching him. So when I went to court I told them to play the camera footage that they claimed was evidence so I could say that I wasn’t even touching the person. But the DVD player didn’t work so We couldn’t play the footage in trial. They offered to drop the charges against me if I agreed to a peace bond. Being young and not knowing any better I took this because I didn’t want a criminal record. Even though it was a pretty good deal it still implies something happened when really I was wrongfully accused. I’m worried that this case will be used against me and that the judge will convict me by saying that I was already let go on previous assault charges. I am gonna try to get the disclosure from the previous assault case to show them that I never assaulted anyone in the prior case so the judge wont use that case against me in this new assault case. But what are my odds of beating the current charges?

Let's say hypothetically if I lost my IPhone or IPad and someone found it and stole it. Are they able to turn it on for trade or will Apple know its stolen and reclaim it. Also what does the theft insurance cover? How can they prove your device is stolen?? 

Was never this guys girlfriend as I did not want to be, though he asked me out. We stopped talking a year ago. We dated casually and briefly. He now has a new gf as I ve seen on his IG. Literally the last time we even texted was over a year ago. Out of the blue he messaged me on IG yesterday asking how I was doing. What s his deal?

He said he wanted to have my baby and that we would make good looking kids but the thing about it is that I barely know him. I know I m good looking and I know it might just be talk but at one point when he said it he seemed FULLY serious so I asked him "are you serious" and he said yes and then I told him are you for real and he said he wanted a kid since he s getting older now. Anyways I talked it out of this guy and he then replies with "I know it s the wrong thing to do it s just a fantasy" but he said it so many times that I wonder if he is serious. He comes from a single parent home so the baby mama thing and the lack of marriage thing probably is something he is used to that doesn t faze him but to me it was like WHOA. Am I on point or does anyone have any other suggestions as to what he meant by all this..

I am dealing with a guy that I am dating right now who has been cheated on in the past. As much as it wasn't his fault that his ex cheated, I feel that there is something about him that is unattentive, sexist and just plain selfish (including in the bedroom) which is making me believe that perhaps he did something to his ex that made her want to cheat on him. He also makes lavish promises and then he can't live up to them. Perhaps she needed something she wasn't getting from her relationship. Perhaps she needed attention. I want to know the reasons women cheat so any women out there who has cheated, please offer your reasoning here and tell me your cheating stories. Also if a man has been cheated on, please discuss any details that would be helpful and what you learned from the experience about your spouse that cheated.

This guy I haven't seen since highschool approached me a few months ago when I ran into him downtown. I went on a few dates with him, and he was already pushing the "lets be a couple" thing. Well of course it was way too soon for me to say yes to that. Anyways, we went on a few dates but none of them were to my liking. I am not into sports bars or eating wings, he is much more "simple". He also has a spotty work record, which I didn't begin to notice until the first few dates and until I learned he has some coke dealing connections. I haven't slept with him, and he began to stop asking me on dates and asking me to come over instead. He usually asks me to come over after the date, but this time he cut to the chase and there's been no more dates. I know he is broke, but still, when he did get money he took off to Greece for a month and a bit (he has family there). While he was in Greece, I had cut him off. He posted all these pictures of him and another girl in Greece to his page. As soon as we began talking again, he deleted the pics. Then he asked me to come and see him IN Greece, but he wasn't paying for it other than that I could stay with him, so I didn't go. I couldn't afford it. Now he is back, hasn't paid his phone bill, and keeps asking me to "hang out at his house". I keep blowing him off and he is ANGRY with me. Telling me I need to fix my issues and get serious, but he isn't even that serious about me if all he is doing is asking me to come over. Am I overreacting?

I am looking for an apartment and wondering, since I do not know the city well, what is a good neighbourhood to move into that is affordable, has low crime rates and is lively and not desolate. I like Brooklyn but its not close enough to Manhattan for me. What is a good neighbourhood close to Manhattan.

In my research I have concluded that a sanctuary city is a city that limits their cooperation with the federal government in enforcing immigration law to avoid family breakup and so that illegal immigrants are more likely to report crimes. All that makes sense, but then Wikipedia states that sanctuary cities also want to ensure that people use health and social services and enroll their children in school. I am confused at why a city would allow illegals to use their social and health services as well as public education. It talks about how these immigrants can refuse requests made my federal government to detain people beyond their release date if they were jailed for a local law and that they can deny federal government to see their immigration status. Is this all true and accurate information? And why would illegal immigrants have access to public services that they don't even pay into? And how do sanctuary policies NOT violate the law? How can these sanctuary policies co-exist with strict federal law?

If I am currently in New York City and I am not a US citizen, I am a Canadian citizen.... but I suddenly become homeless, am I legally allowed to stay in a homeless shelter in NYC?

I do not have a permanent resident status or any type of immigration license, I simply live here, but do not have a place to stay right now.

Since the Iphone 7 dropped, people have been complaining that the design does not include the earphone jack. This is a bit of a dealbreaker for me which is why I considered sticking to the SE until the Iphone7S drops... I figure by then they might bring back the EAR PHONE JACK since everyone was complaining about it.

The thing is, I dont know for sure if Apple well bring it back for sure. i just assume they might since everyone misses it. And the IPhone7.does have better upgrades on camera, storage and battery life.

So what do you experts think???.Do I stick with the SE until the iPhone7s drops or go with the iphone7 now??!!!

I have an illness that is pretty hard to treat and I ve been praying to God for a healing. One day I was praying all day with no answer and then finally I got an answer which was an impression of my mom and how sad she was. I know I am not nice to her so I took it as, "treat her better and you will get a healing" but to be honest I m not really sure. Has anyone ever had God give them an unrelated or unusual answer to their prayer before??

I know the Bible says it but thats not enough proof. Jesus claimed to be God but any one can claim that. Yes he performed miracles but there are other people on this earth who aldo did. Many Christians point out the fact that he fulfulled over 300 prophesies. Yes that is a lot but many prophets existed back then and still do today. How does fulfilling prophecies translate to being God? Also the bible was written by many different people over the course of many centuries. No demographic lives long enough to track all thr events recorded in the bible to authenticate them. Please help me understand.

I am in the worst situation of my life. Permanent brain damage and my mom is threatening to kick me out and put me on the streets. I have no friends or anyone to turn to other than God. I want to believe he can heal me but I have my doubts since not everyone gets the miracle they re hoping for. The bible says through Jesus s stripes we are healed. It also says that if we ask we shall receive and if we knock the door shall be opened..... Yet the Book of Jobs is about a man who like me has the worst life and the moral of the story is to accept the reality and accept Gods will whether good or bad. Are my efforts for nothing? Will God heal me (can be even heal me) and if he can will he??? I am so lost and feels hopeless.

I am going through a hard time in life and was thinking of premonitions and praying to god. Then all of a sudden Everything I think comes true. I just thought of my dad he came home two seconds later to pick something up. I just thought of my landlord and two seconds later he texted me. I just thought of bringing back my library books and two seconds later the library called. I am so afraid of what is happening. Am I connected to a higher power is this a good thing?

I downloaded apps and my FULL battery died within 1.5 hours of me charging and using it? Do I need a new battery or phone or was it just me using it and downloading stuff??

I am 25 now and my mom kicked me out over a year ago. I was stealing money and disrespecting her so I deserved it. Because I had no where to go I went to a shelter, as she suggested. There were people there who were cracked out but I put up with it. Within two months I had a job and a nice condo apartment downtown and everything was working out fine and we had restored our relationship for the most part. I worked at this job for almost a year and then got a new job somewhere else recently. That job did not work out, however, and I found myself unemployed again and now I am behind on rent so I agreed to move out. I started having a mental breakdown and could not return to work. I have some money on me (not much) and am looking into Airbnb which is where people rent their homes out to travellers and you can pay week to week. You pay in advance for the week. I am ready to go back to work and will get a job soon i'm sure since I live in a major city. my mom thinks I should go back to a shelter and save money for a place first. well after a year I figured my mom might trust me enough to let me back in to her place for a while while I get back on track. I understand why she cant trust me based on the past but she does not support my plan and thinks I should goto a shelter where I would live among crackheads? she is betraying me by suggesting I live there. who is she to tell me what to do if she cant even offer me a place to stay? shelters are for actual homeless people!
