What's the title of the movie I'm thinking of?
My friends and I seem to remember seeing a movie or TV show that includes a scene in which a man is bowling and loses his temper. He sticks his head into the ball return, frustrated that his ball hasn't returned, to be struck in the head with his bowling ball. It leaves a bizarre bruise on his forehead that has gaps to show the three finger holes. I know it was a live action (not a cartoon). It might be a Disney Channel movie? I'm not sure, but it must be a child-friendly movie. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

2 AntwortenMoviesvor 6 JahrenHow to prevent my dog from scratching at the door?
My two black lab mixes (one male, one female -- littermates) are almost eight years old, and I've had them since they were puppies. In the last two months or so, one has started to jump on/scratch at the doors when she wants to come inside and she seems anxious. The dogs usually only behave this way when there is either thunder or fireworks. The female has started doing this every time we let them outside.
I suspect it's from the heat wave -- we try to not leave them outside for more than 30 minutes, even in the shade/at night, so they don't overheat. However, that doesn't explain how anxious she has been. She has had tendencies to hyperventilate, in the past (unprompted, as far as I can tell, but sometimes during her sleep). The male's behavior hasn't changed.
I'm worried about the conditions of the doors. I don't think plexiglass is an option for us right now. I'd rather stop the behavior all together. Any advice, please?
3 AntwortenDogsvor 9 JahrenHeart beating strangely? What is this called?
I have chronic pain (still undiagnosed, but fibromayalgia has been a suspect for a long time). Randomly, like just now, my heart will beat oddly. It started beating hard and with an irregular rhythm. Like moving through a thick sludge or something, feeling like it dragged at some parts and then quick succession. What is it called when this happens? Heart palpitations? I'm a little dizzy and kind of scared, you guys...
My chest/ribs have been hurting off and on since yesterday, and my read really hurts right now.
I've been having muscle spasms in my back, and they're really bad today. I was in so much pain this morning that I vomited. I don't know if that has anything to do with it?
4 AntwortenHeart Diseasesvor 9 JahrenCan drinking too much tea tint your skin color?
My friend is a vegetarian, and he drinks a LOT of tea. Lately, he skin has begun to take a yellowish hue, almost like jaundice -- but his eyes are clear. His family is worried and his classmates have started to notice as well. Someone suggested that the amount of tea he's drinking may be the culprit. Is that possible?
I am considering asking him how much carotene-rich foods (sweet potato, squash, carrots) he has been eating when I speak with him next.
5 AntwortenNon-Alcoholic Drinksvor 9 JahrenDo I have panic attacks?
For about two years, I had severe muscle spasms in my back that were very easily triggered (just a touch to the back could leave me writhing on the floor in pain) and would, consequently, knock my spine out of alignment and cause more pain. For the last six months or so, my back hasn't been nearly as bad, though surprise/rough contact still knocks my back out and causes debilitating pain.
I still react strongly to such situations. For example, a friend (unaware of my back problems) kicked me in the back/backpack two weeks ago. I felt an immediate physical reaction, although it wasn't exactly pain (though my lower back did lock up). I ducked around a corner and sat down to compose myself. Everyone assumed it was due to pain (and I blamed it on the pain, because it's just easier to do so), but I wasn't in much pain after the initial jolt. My chest felt heavy and tight. I started to feel hot and sweat. I almost started to cry (usually, I do -- I was very surprised that I didn't start sobbing) and my body began to shake. I couldn't/didn't want to move for several minutes. On my way to my car, I got dry heaves -- and eventually vomited (I don't have a gag reflex thanks to a mistake in a medical procedure). The actual, full pain from the spinal misalignment doesn't come until at least an hour or longer afterward.
I've had stronger reactions to such events before (sobbing, unable to move for longer periods of time). I'm wondering if, perhaps, they might be panic attacks based on my past experiences with the muscle spasms -- that I'm panicking because I expect to have them? I started looking at the panic attack possibility since I've been having nightmares where I wake up in a sweat and gasping for air and Internet searches resulted in the possibility of panic attacks while sleeping.
1 AntwortMental Healthvor 9 JahrenIs my mom likely to have a stroke?
My mom is 50 and she has been experiencing pain in one of her legs. She suspects a blood clot, but she's stubborn and doesn't want to go to a doctor about it in case it's nothing. Her younger brother had a stroke (and lived) in his 40s. If you think it might be a blood clot, what can be done to prevent her from having a stroke? I don't know what to do!
2 AntwortenHeart Diseasesvor 9 JahrenHow long before tattoo ink starts to break down?
I have been thinking about getting a tattoo, and I've been putting a lot of thought into what I want, size, color, location, when, etc. I know that, eventually, the tattoo ink begins to break down and the quality of the art deteriorates (even if it's well taken care of). Taking care of the art delays the deterioration, but it happens eventually. That said: about how long does it take for the ink to break down and the art start to look different?
2 AntwortenTattoosvor 9 JahrenDizzy and smelled/tasted metal. Should I be concerned?
As I was about to go to bed late last night, I started to get really dizzy and I started to smell/taste metal. I've had nosebleeds at the back of the throat before that causes an identical smell/taste (but I wonder if it may have been due to the honeyed green tea I drank earlier in the day). With the vertigo, my head felt really heavy on the pillow and made moving around in bed when changing positions difficult.
When that happens, I usually wake up with it and cough up blood (since it was going down my throat as I slept). As far as I know, there was no blood last night (but I didn't really check).
I haven't been feeling well lately, but I've been chalking it up to my menstrual (which started this morning), but that scared me last night. I have long-standing trouble breathing through my nose (which I have not thoroughly investigated -- I never seem to have good experiences with doctors), somewhere in the back sinuses. Like, the "facial mask," as my high school choir instructor called it. And my ears have been hurting a bit lately, as well (I believe I have tinnitus, I don't know if that makes any difference to you. Again, I haven't pursued an official diagnosis since it isn't on my priority list).
I am also getting over some sort of bug that has, mostly, cleared up. I suspected a minor sinus infection (low-grade fever, night sweats, coughing up thick dark-yellow phlegm) or something, so maybe it's from that? I don't know, what do you guys think?

I know it's really common for people to shed tears when they yawn, but I also have the opposite problem. When I cry, when I'm watching a sad movie or because I'm upset about something, I often have the overwhelming urge to yawn and I don't know why. Does anybody else have this? Why does it happen?
1 AntwortOther - General Health Carevor 9 JahrenHow do you get on Unsolved Mysteries?
My mom received 3rd degree burns (80%) when she was little. While she was in the hospital, she kept pulling off her skin grafts so the nurses/doctors had her bound to the bed. Because of how hospitals were run at the time, no staff members came to feed her (although she obviously could not feed herself while bound to the bed) and her family wasn't allowed to visit. She told me about a boy in the hospital (she believes he was roughly 14 years old) who fed her while she was bound to the bed and, if not for him, she probably would have died.
This took place in late 1964/early 1965 at an Iowa hospital. My mom had just turned 3 years old and it happened right before Christmas. She was in the hospital for almost four months.
She would like to find this boy and thank him, and I want to help her do this. I thought Unsolved Mysteries might be the best way to go. If you can think of a better way, please let me know. (I didn't know what category to put this...)
1 AntwortOther - Family & Relationshipsvor 9 JahrenFeeling full and nauseous quickly and I don't know why. Help please?
I had something similar about two or three years ago, and I never went to a doctor for it. I've been having chronic, undiagnosed health problems since 2003 (current theory is Lyme Disease), so it wasn't at the top of my priority list.
Just like last time, it came out of nowhere. I am not sexually active (therefore no chance of pregnancy) and I am not having my menstrual. I am eating healthy (as opposed to last time this happened). I only drink water (approx 2 - 3 Liters on an average day).
It's been like this the last couple days and, the last time it happened, it lasted about a month. It started this Friday afternoon when I ate a bowl of chili (not unusual for me) and I vomited two hours later. Due to a medical screw-up, I no longer have a gag reflex, so this happens only in extremes or I just get dry heaves. Since Friday, I have been facing identical scenarios every time I eat. For example, I just ate an apple with a slice of bread and I feel full(-ish) and nauseous. Before I ate, I felt (relatively, in terms of my other health problems) fine. I typically eat every 2-3 hours and I am hungry by the time I eat. Since this has begun, I have been eating every 5+ hours -- not out of hunger, but because I consciously know I need nourishment.
Someone please tell me they've encountered this before... =(
1 AntwortOther - General Health Carevor 9 JahrenQuestion about the last scene of the movie Titanic? (SPOILER ALERT)?
In the final scene, when the elderly Rose is sleeping in her bed with all the photos nearby, does she die or is she sleeping?
When she is in the water with Jack, he tells her that she will die an old woman warm in her bed. The ending scene then transitions to her on Titanic with all of the people who died and meeting Jack at the clock. I believe she is either in heaven, reuniting with these people, or dreaming. I wonder if she's sleeping in that scene because, like in the song "My Heart Will Go On," it says "Every night in my dreams, I see you. I feel you." Right?
What do you think? Did she die at the end or is she just dreaming?
4 AntwortenMoviesvor 10 JahrenWhere can I buy shoes suitable for dance competition that fit my needs? (Details inside)?
My college has a ballroom/swing dance team that I desperately want to join, but I have plantar fasciitis (affecting the tendons in the feet). Therefore, the dance shoes I would need have to have as small of a heel as possible and enough room that I can fit my custom-made shoe inserts in them (for support). I also have relatively large feet (size 11 or 12 in normal shoes, depending on the shoe. Size 10 in men's. For now, I've been practicing with a male teammate's shoes. His shoes are size 14 in dance-size, and they're a little spacious--but better than nothing).
Any other suggestions are also appreciated, and please give as much detail as you can (or links)!
1 AntwortDancingvor 10 JahrenOuter foot bunion -- Is this normal? Surgery thoughts, please?
I seem to be starting to develop a bunion on my outer right foot (pinky toe). I have been experiencing loss of feeling in my toe, and I've been using separators in attempt to straighten the tendon and I'm now wearing looser-fitting shoes.
My chiropractor suggested I see a doctor if it doesn't improve within a week because it's possible I may need surgery. Have you ever had surgery for a bunion? I'd like to hear about your experiences (as much detail as you're comfortable sharing, please). Healing, end results, etc.
2 AntwortenPain & Pain Managementvor 10 JahrenDo you think I'll need surgery?
I've been having health problems since 2003 that weren't diagnosed until last summer. I get frequent spinal subluxations (dislocation of the vertebrae) that are easily corrected via chiropractic care. I know when I have a subluxation, because the nerves effected cause intense limb pain and abdominal pain (sensation that my gallbladder/spleen/liver are about to/have burst). When corrected, this improves but never entirely goes away -- it merely takes the edge off. Also, the area I typically get the subluxation (T6, T7, T8) is quite peculiar. Even after I'm adjusted, a piece of bone seems to protrude in the area.
I had an MRI about a year ago, and they said they saw something but it was "nothing to worry about." However, I don't trust the doctors who looked at my MRI as far as I can throw them. Since I hadn't noticed the bone protrusion until a couple months ago (and I feel like I'm in increasingly more pain), I plan to have another, more current MRI that WILL be looked at by a spinal surgeon NOT in my town.
Which leads back to my original question: Do you think I'll need surgery?
1 AntwortOther - Healthvor 10 JahrenHow do you know if someone blocked you on facebook and/or tumblr?
My friend and I had a major falling-out, and she insisted she was sorry and would work to regain my trust. When I told her that I wasn't sure if I could do that, she un-followed me a few days later on tumblr. (I'm not the kind of person to "block" or "delete" someone over arguments and such, which is why I didn't delete her, as well. I have been able to see what she posts, since I still "Follow" her.) Since she had not posted anything in a while, I was about to go to her tumblr page and it says it has been deactivated. And she doesn't appear anywhere on facebook anymore, either. Am I blocked or did she just deactivate both accounts? (She usually uses them frequently, which is why I doubt she deactivated them.)
2 AntwortenFacebookvor 1 JahrzehntMovie with kids, a dog, and a sled dog race...? (Looking for the title)?
I watched a movie at school about ten years ago or so, and I kinda want to see it again but I have no idea what it was called! This is what I remember about it:
It was about two(?) kids who wanted to win some sort of sled dog race (I can't remember why), so they trained their old white(?) dog to run it. At the end of the race, shortly before the finish line, the dog died of a heart attack or something. The kids ended up carrying the deceased dog the rest of the way across the finish line.
That's about all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated! =)

4 AntwortenComics & Animationvor 1 JahrzehntPain level for tattoos on the spine?
Not in the immediate future, but I want to get a tattoo and I keep thinking over the location on my body I want it. I've heard that tattoos hurt more (comparatively) on the ribs, so I was wondering if anyone knew what the "pain level" would be for a tattoo in the spine (as compared to someplace like the abdomen). The location I have in mind would be at approximately T7 of the spine (either on my back or abdomen) because of medical issues I've had surrounding those areas, so keep that in mind if it makes a difference. If you don't know where that is on the body, imagine roughly where the back bra strap settles.
Include as many details as you're comfortable sharing, please! This would be my first (and probably only) tattoo, so I want to know as much as possible beforehand!
