  • Helping a 'negative, pessimistic, glass half empty,' type of person...?

People often tell me that I am 'negative,' 'pessimistic,' and i think with the 'glass half empty.' I disagree, but feel like maybe this is true. I always consider myself as a realistic person, and here is my reasoning. I have anxiety, so I have learned to look for possible 'bad' outcomes that could happen, that way I can mentally prepare myself, and Im not disappointed, but if the 'bad' thing doesnt happen, I feel happier with the outcome because the situation went above my expectations. I dont see how this is seen as a 'pessimistic' way of thinking. I just have never seen the logic in, 'eveything will be fine if you just think positive.' That way of thinking doesn't work for me. I just would rather not get hurt if something goes wrong. I like to prepare myself so I dont have a panic attack or feel extremely sad about the bad outcome. Is this a bad way to think? If it is, how can I change my way of thinking so people can stop calling me negative because this is really getting me down.

  • Exercise question for people who do it regularly?

You know how health guru's always say to take more steps a day to keep you metabolism going?(Take the stairs instead of the elevator, don't try and get that close parking spot when going to the grocery store) well when I Google "does standing on your feet for 8 hours a day exercise?" every article/message bored I read says"no." So what would be the point of me taking the stairs for 30 seconds if me walking around a store for 8 hours a day will not burn calories. Not everyone has a schedule where they can just fit in exercise every day and not eat meals past 8:30pm. I dont get off of work untill 11pm most of the time and I dont have time to eat during the day. When I come home at night Im hungry and would actually like to eat food and not salad... What is your opinion on this matter?

  • Should you change in every relationship or should the person change for you?

When I date someone and it eventually ends they tell my the reason(s) why it ended and and some type of flaw a have. When I date a new one I try to make myself better for them and work on the issues ive had previously. Im dating someone who gets upset with me for doing the opposite of what every person I dated told me I was doing wrong. Should I change myself for every person I date or should I work on things the majority of the people Ive dated told me I was doing wrong?

EXAMPLE: Guys I dated tell me I am clingy and super emotional. I cry too much and I always let my feelings cloud my judgment in everyday tasks. So im dating a guy now and I don't call him a whole lot. When im upset i don't tell him and i pretend im fine so he will not find my sadness annoying.
