Hello.

  • How do get bearded dragons to eat vegetables?

    Hello everyone.

I have a 6 month old bearded dragon, still a juvenile. She eats about 20 crickets a day, dusted with calcium powder. I will give her worms so she isn't just eating crickets only because no one likes a constipated dragon!

She is in a 50 gallon aquarium with a basking light and UV light, and the basking site is about 92 degrees.

She is active, playful and curious. I just got her 2 days ago.

My problem is she doesn't eat her veggies or fruit! She only seems interested in the crickets. Is this normal? I made her a mix of just about everything. The workers at the pet store said she liked raspberries, so I tossed those in there and nothing. She will only eat her crickets. With someone her age, she should be having 80% insects, 20% veggies, but she is not eating her veggies at all. I got all the veggies the pet store said she liked, romaine hearts they said she liked the best. I even figured out the corner she uses the bathroom in and put the food on the opposite corner. Still, nothing.

Everyone, I have made a life time commitment to this animal. Whatever it takes, I will do it. Let me know if its ok I have a picky eater on my hands! If not, do you think I should bring her to my reptile vet?

  • Tell me more about bearded dragons?

Alright everyone. I have not been on here in awhile.

I currently own a red eared slider that just turned 18! We are used to each other, so I figured I was ready for a new addition to my family. Franklin could not be more excited.

I decided on a bearded dragon. I did research on their care, habitat, and feedings. I wanted to ask my fellow yahooers what else was needed!

She is 6 months old, I just got her last night. Right now I have her in a 50 gallon aquarium with a UV light and heat lamp. She has her water dish, her bedding, her hiding spot and fresh veggies in the tank along with several crickets running around. I have a separate enclosure for the crickets so I can give them to her without having to go back and forth to the pet store. I was told 12 crickets daily, is this too much? Too little?

I understand she will need a Vitamin D supplement which I will sprinkle on the veggies every day.

I am handling her a few times a day and letting her explore my apartment. I have a 4 year old who is a very good mannered little boy. When he touches her he washes his hands always! Just like with our turtle, My turtle is 14 years older than him, so he has learned proper reptile hygeine since he could walk lol!

I have made a commitment to this animal. When she is sick, I will pay the money for a veterinarian. I have a great exotic animal vet just down the road. When she needs anything, anything at all money is no object.

I just want to know what am I missing? Is there anything I should be doing/not doing?

Oh and her name is Pandora....because she is curious and inquisitive. Dora for short :)

  • How do you use a rational expression to write a single radical expression?

    The question is x^1/7*y^1/2*z*1/6

The answer should be under a radical. The two answers I got are 84(radical) xyz OR

    42 (radical) x^6*y^21*z^7

When I multiply everything together, I get the first answer, but I am not quite sure. How do you do a problem like this, step by step?

  • Can you teach an old turtle new tricks?

Has anyone out there ever trained a turtle to do anything? My 16 red eared slider knows his name. If I set him on the ground, he comes when I call him. He turns in the direction of my voice too! They are such smart and incredible creatures, aren't they?

Does anyone out there have any stories they'd like to share about their smart turtles? How did you train them?

  • Ever heard of chinese pizza?

When I was little, we used to go to a Chinese restaurant in Windsor, Canada. They used to give us something called Chinese pizza. I don't know what it is, all I can say is it looked like they fried it somehow, maybe with green onions? Maybe it isn't even called Chinese pizza at all, maybe that's just what myself and my sisters called it. Anyone have ideas?

  • What is the ideal tank size for a red-devil fish (not a midas)?

Right now he is in a 100 gallon tank. He is full grown, about 12-13 inches long. We rescued him from someone (they had him in a 30 gallon!) Poor thing. He seems happy in his tank, but is he going to get any bigger? We're not sure how old he is.

  • Help! My red-bellied piranhas are eating each other!?

There was 4 of them this morning and now there's 3. They are in a roomy 29 gallon tank and they are well fed. I'm pretty disappointed because I was attached to them. They have fought before, but its never been this bad to the point where they ate each other. They were all bred from the same school so we were told this could never happen. What do I do?
