Some ministers tell that to parents when their child dies.
What comfort would believing this bring to grieving parents?

If Jesus is The Lord, then who was the "Lord" they presented Jesus to?
11 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenDoes God have a Father?
According to the KJV he does. Do you feel that Almighty God has a Father?
Revelation 1:6---"And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Another version renders that verse this way:
Revelation 1:6
New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
and made us to be a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The NRSV version makes more sense. What do you think?
12 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenIf hell is an eternal punishment, then why does hell deliver up the dead which are in it?
If hell is an eternal punishment, then why does hell deliver up the dead which are in it?
Why are they then judged a second time?
Perhaps hell is not a place of punishment, but rather the resting place for all who have died and this will be the resurrection of the just & unjust that the Bible speaks of.
What are your thoughts on this?
Revelation 20:13 (King James Version)
"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."
12 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenWhat is meant by this statement at Romans 2:11? KJV?

6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenQuestion for Catholics-- re: the Saint Michael the Archangel prayer?
Is this prayer to Michael something you do often ?
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenMatthew 23:14.Why is this verse left out of many bibles & How would you explain this scripture?
For example
Matthew 23:14
New King James Version (NKJV)
14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
But in the New Revised Standard Version
Matthew 23:14
King James Version (KJV)
Error: 'Matthew 23:14' not found : New Revised Standard Version.
Several Bibles omit this verse and claim it is not in the original manuscripts. Why is it in versions but not others?
17 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 7 JahrenMany believe hell to be hot or a fiery place so where did these expressions come from?
" cold as hell"
" rot in hell"
Some believe that hell is mankind's grave. Those two expressions make sense if that is the case.

What are your thoughts on this?
In the King James Version it reads
Genesis 25:29
King James Version (KJV)
And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
Sod pottage? Any idea what that would mean if only using this version?
I found out it means "cooked a stew"
The English language has certainly changed.

4 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 Jahren? For Catholics: if Mary remained a virgin, does this mean that her husband remained celibate---?

Jonah 2:2

1 AntwortReligion & Spiritualityvor 8 JahrenWhy did Satan call Jesus the"Son of God" instead of God at Luke chapter 4 verses 3 and 9?
Surely the Devil would have known if Jesus was God.
The Bible states that God cannot be tempted with evil. Satan is evil so why would he even try to tempt Jesus if he knew it would be useless. Satan knew the Scriptures and even quoted them.
James 1:13
English Standard Version (ESV)
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
