I am working on a report about the Opium Wars and how that opened up trade in China between other western countries. But I need to narrow it down a little bit (the research paper can only take up 5 pages). I need help deciding if there is a particular topic I can narrow the topic down to. I'm drawing a blank...please help!!

I was looking at the website, and it looks like there are a couple foods that you will have to buy, outside of the food that comes with your meal plan. But it looks like the only foods you really have to buy from your own grocery store are snacks. Is this true?

I'm also looking for opinions on NutriSystem. Did it work for you?

On Sunday evening, I was sitting in my chair and got the worst pain in my lower back, like when I'm going through PMS. It's a throbbing/achiness, but it's not near the start of my cycle (usually on the 20th of the month).

What are common causes of lower back pain? My hubby and I have been trying for a baby, but if I was pregnant, I'd only be about 3 weeks or so, and back pain isn't common this early right? I didn't do anything that could have pulled/strained/sprained anything. Any ideas?

It's not my kidneys either...I'm in good health, with no infection (no fever, etc)

This is my first ever tattoo. I got it done less than 24 hours ago, and it's still quite sore, and there is redness around it. And there's definitely some swelling going on. Is this common?

It's on my left calf. I'm just nervous everyone. I washed it last night, gently, with antibacterial soap (I think it was Cetaphil) and after I finished, I put a thick layer of A+D Ointment on it (till my friend told me 'less is more'...and then I patted some off). I've been using the A+D but I also have Eucerin. Which is better to use?

I'm sitting here at my desk at work...and I notice that whenever i put slight pressure on my arm (leaning it against the arm rest), the muscles in my fingers and forearm start twitching on their own.

Could this be a neurological symptom associated with diabetes? I was diagnosed 'pre-diabetic' (whatever the hell THAT means lol) about two years ago, and I haven't been to the doctor in a while. But I'm taking 500 mg of Metformin HCL to try and get it in check .

Is this a symptom of Diabetes? In addition to that, I've just been feeling unwell lately. Tired....not hungry...I hate it.

I really want to follow the South Beach Diet. It looks simple enough, and most of the foods are easy for me to eat because I already do on a consistent basis.

My only drawbacks are two 'required' foods on phase one of the diet: vegetable juice cocktail (V8) and ricotta cheese (used nightly as a park of the dessert).

What foods could I use to substitute for these two? Is V8 really anything more than a concentrated mix of vegetables? And I really can't stand the texture of ricotta cheese. It's mixed with sugar substitute and natural flavorings to create a 'creme' for dessert. Please help!! Thank you!

To achieve the roller wrap, you need to use magnetic rollers (larger rollers for longer hair) all over the head, then sit under a hooded dryer to allow the hair to set and dry.

After the roller set, you wrap the hair around your head (in a beehive....like a normal dry wrap). How long do you leave your hair wrapped up like this? I've just gotten a perm after 5 years of have natural African-American afro-textured hair and I need to reteach myself some styles. Any help on this?

Our bathtub fixtures were old and decrepit, so we asked a plumber to install new ones. I think he caulked around the space between the fixtures and the surrounding tile and told us NOT TO GET IT WET.....of course we did.

It's been nearly a year since that job, and that caulking around the fixtures are nasty, and it appears that it has shrunk. There is unsightly mold and mildew, and there's a gap between the fixtures and the tile surrounding it. What should we do?

I saw a music video and I really want to find the song to it!

All I can remember is that there was a white guy singing, with a really soulful voice. And the music video had him, talking about a girl, and there was animation with the tears (as in crying)....It's hard to explain. The music video was of real people, but they added in the animation for the tears, and towards the end the tears flooded a room.

I have an AC Adapter for the desk fan that I have in my room. We had a heavy object sitting on part of the cord, and the fan stopped working. We moved the cord, and now we notice that barely...just barely...you can see some of the electrical wires inside. Is it okay if I cover up that small exposed spot with a little bit of duct tape? Because we don't have electrical tape.

I am applying for one, and because of certain circumstances, I am only able to receive one at a PO Box at this time. Are there any credit card companies that will deliver a card to a PO Box?

I am a college freshman, assuming a pre-med track, and planning on enrolling in medical school in 2011 or 2012. It has been my dream to become an OB/GYN since childhood, and malpractice insurance is certainly not deterring that dream.

My question is, what can doctors and the public do about this? Send a letter to a congressman? Are there any coalitions out there who are dedicated to this cause?

My fiancee and I had sex yesterday, and we've been trying to have a child for about half a year. My expected period would have been on the 2nd of August. I took a WalMart Pregnancy Test on that day...negative (I'm hoping I just took it too early!)

When we had sex the other day, it was painful! And I recognized it as cervix pain, from a class we went to. Ladies (or males who know) does the cervix position change during early pregnancy? Does it drop a little? Because it was so weird....it was so painful that I didn't feel like getting up for a little while afterwards.

Today, the cat that has been living in my garage (we feed her everyday, but she's more of a 'wild' cat so she refuses to live in the house) brought her babies onto the back porch to eat with her. I COULD NOT STOP CRYING. Like...I'm still crying now.

Now, I'm usually touched by baby-anythings, but I was actually bawlings, like it was my own child.

I've also been trying to conceive. Now, it's only about 5-6 dpo for me. Is it possible to be feeling the effects of surging hormones this early on in pregnancy? Is it too early for some serious maternal instincts to start to kick in?

We're not asking to be rich....we just want to live a little bit better. But neither of us have the financial security to stomach another student loan, so he decided not to go to school. I don't want to insult him by insisting that he apply for 2-3 jobs...but what type of jobs pay well without the employee having a college degree? Trade work? Technical work? He's a hard working man...and would do anything to put food on the table for his family. We just can't afford to put him through college now, and I'm at the end of my rope.
