At the moment we have a 60 mph along the very narrow and winding lane I live in. You never know what you are going to meet around the next corner - a pedestrian, cyclist, a horse, herd of cattle being moved between fields or a motorised vehicle (in the summer months their are a LOT of tractors around).

A critically ill man from Bristol was being transferred to a London hospital for a life saving operation. The ambulance he was in was being escorted by Avon and Somerset Police with lights and sirens going. The Metropolitan Police REFUSED to let the Avon and Somerset Police into the area that they (the Met) control. As a result the man died on the operating table. They was a 50/50 chance he would have died anyway.

There is an item on the BBC Website saying that NO fees should be charged by Local Council's for the street/road to be closed. I reckon the fees should be £1000 for EVERY foot of street/road that is closed.
