I need to think of an older tv show or movie that depicts what the future of schools could be (at the time). The only one I can currently think of would be "The Jetsons", but they just show the kids going to regular schools, there isn't really anything futuristic about it.

I haven't flown in a while, and I was wondering if this would be okay as a carry-on (in an aluminum briefcase):

-Nintendo Wii

-External battery

-laptop

-dvd player

Is there any regulation on weight/contents of a carry-on? Or, in an aluminum briefcase?

Can I get some statistics about the Wii in schools? How many schools have them, want them, etc...

I'm writing a speech about respect for others. I need some sort of statistics or "meat" to fill in where I have blank spots.

I want a fairly inexpensive, acoustic guitar with a 1/4th out (to plug into an amp). Any tips? Also, what should I look for to get that 1/4th out port? Is there a special term for use with guitars?

to use with my camcorder, but when I plug it into the mic jack, no audio is recorded. The microphone works fine when I plug it into the computer, and another generic microphone works fine with the camcorder.

Why won't this pick up any audio for my camera?

To connect two computers to one stereo? I tried it out, but it always makes the volume softer when both are plugged in. Why is this?

I would like one of those PCMCIA cards for a laptop to use for mobile broadband, but I only want it for about 10 days. I am currently a Sprint customer.

I just moved into a house with a new addition that has a bedroom, living room, and family room. It has a stereo system throughout, (with two speakers in the bedroom, two speakers in the living room, and 5 speakers in the family room (for surround sound, I presume). So, what can I do to have surround sound in the family room while watching a movie, and then switch to having music throughout? I am currently running all of the speakers through a cheap Zenith surround sound system, with the speakers in bedroom, living room, and the two right rear speakers in the family room connected to the Left and Right rear channels on the surround sound system, which works, but not great.

Can I use an a/b type of switch? What kind of speaker amplifier will I need to get music throughout?

Have any good ideas or tips?

I have an SATA hard drive that is mounted in an Antec enclosure, and when I plug it in to any computer, it installs the USB drivers, but then sits and does not open the drive. If I try to go into Explorer or open drive management, it slows or stalls. On occasion, after sitting for long enough, it will eventually open, but won't last long.

I've tried a different enclosure, so I know it isn't that. I've also swapped USB cables. Is the drive shot? Could it be formatting, or something that could be fixed?

I have an IBM Thinkpad T23, and a few months ago the ac adapter blew out. I bought a new one off of Ebay it had a polarity of (+o-), and it worked fine for a few weeks, then it appeared as if it had died as well. I just bought a third, and when it arrived I compared the two, and the new one has a different polarity! They were advertised for the same laptop series, so I couldn't see how this had happened. I was careful not to plug it in immediately, but I noticed that the laptop has the same polarity marked on the case as the newest ac adapter (-o+). So, I plugged it in, and it powers the laptop just fine, but the battery stays at 0%.

So, does anyone know what the polarity is on this laptop? If I was powering it with the wrong polarity for weeks, what damage was done? I don't have the first ac adapter anymore, so I have no idea of knowing what polarity it was.

What do I do now?
