  • My phone won't charge through USB while computer is shut down after upgrading to windows 10.?

So in the past with windows 7, my iphone would charge through the USB port even if I shut down my computer but after I upgraded to windows 10, my iphone will no longer charge from the USB port if my computer is in sleep mode or shutdown. It only charges if my computer is "ON." Is there any way to fix this?

  • Want to buy something but it's complicated.?

I'm trying to buy something off a website but it says it is "not in stores." Aka, I can only buy it online, the problem is I don't have a credit card. I have a gift card but it does not cover the whole cost and then I have cash. Is there anyway to buy this product using cash/w/e's on my gift card if it is an "online" purchase only? Would I have to go to the store and basically turn my cash into straight up full gift card money then order it online? Would this make me lose money?(Do they charge tax/extra for charging a gift card) For example If I wanted to add $100 to a gift card would I just pay exactly $100 or would it be more?

  • Statistics probability problem involving Chi squared?

This question was posted about 7 months ago but the one thing that was not answered is the part I need...

On the morning of April 10, 1912 the Titanic set sail from Southampton, England on its maiden voyage to New York City. On April 14, just four days into the trip, the Titanic struck an iceberg and in just over 2 hours the "unsinkable" Titanic was gone with a loss of 1,490 lives. The Titanic had been outfitted with 20 lifeboats, enough to hold about 54% of the passengers.

The table below gives a count of the survivors and victims of the Titanic sinking. The data are classified by type of passenger (first class, second class, third class, crew member) and survival status. The data for this analysis were compiled from the initial casualty estimates, as reported in the Official Board of Trade Inquiry Report, written originally in 1912. NOTE: For a complete list of passenger names see the poster on my office door. No, Leonardo DiCaprio is NOT listed.

    survived died

    first class 203 122

    second class 118 167

    third class 178 528

    crew class 212 673

Question: What is the value of the test statistic for this hypothesis test?

I put in the values in my calculator to calculate the value but what I have is wrong... I have every other part of this questions correct just this one I cannot get. I'm assuming I'm putting in the wrong values for the expected column but I'm not sure. Currently I have

203, 118, 178, 212 in list1(for observed values) and (.323 * (survivors+dead)) for list2(expected). I got .323 from an earlier questions saying what is the probability that a random selected passenger survived.

  • Help Virus that blocks anti-virus programs. How to get rid of it?

Ok, I've searched on the net as to how it might be possible/ what programs to use to get rid of it, but the program did not get rid of it completely. What originally happened was, I could not access websites such as malwarebytes.com and spybotS&D's website, also whenever I used a search engine, it would redirect me to a random website. Here's the problem that still exists, when I try to run the program Malwarebytes or Spybot, the programs crash the instant i run it. I changed the name of malwarebytes and was able to run it, proceeded with a scan, and it found 9 infected files, which I cleaned. The anti-virus websites are no longer blocked but I still cannot run malwarebytes(if i change the name back to the original), Spybot, and search engines still redirect me. Could not run Spybot at all(even with name change) Tried things such as TrendMicro, Norman, Malware Cleaner, ThreatFire, Bitdefender, they all came up with nothing... Malwarebytes(fullscan this time) found 0 infected files....

  • 3 Physics problems SHM, and Harmonic motion?

    1. A 550 g mass on a spring is oscillating at 0.80 Hz. The total energy of the oscillation is 0.48 J. What is the amplitude?

    ___ cm

    2. A thin steel beam 6.0 m long is suspended from a crane and is undergoing torsional oscillations. Two 80 kg steelworkers leap onto opposite ends of the beam, as shown in Fig. 13.29. If the frequency of torsional oscillations diminishes by 20%, what is the mass of the beam?

    ____ kg

3.A 1.1-kg block (m1) rests on a frictionless surface and is attached to a horizontal spring of constant k = 28 N/m (see Fig. 13.33 below). The block is oscillating with amplitude 10 cm. A second block of mass m2 = 0.75 kg is moving from the right at 1.2 m/s. It strikes the first block when the latter is at the rightmost point in its oscillation. The collision is completely inelastic, and the two blocks stick together. Determine the frequecy and the amplitude of the resulting motion.

    frequency = .619 Hz

    amplitude = ___ m

  • 2 physics Simple Harmonic motion questions?

    1. A 240 g mass is attached to a spring of constant k = 5.4 N/m and set into oscillation with amplitude A = 26 cm.

    (a) Determine the frequency of the system in hertz.

    .755 Hz

    (b) Determine the period.

    1.32 s

    (c) Determine the maximum velocity of the mass.

    ??? m/s

    (d) Determine the maximum force in the spring.

    1.40 N

    2. A 500 g block on a frictionless surface is attached to a rather limp spring of constant k = 8.7 N/m. A second block rests on the first, and the whole system executes simple harmonic motion with a period of 2.3 s. When the amplitude of the motion is increased to 44 cm, the upper block just begins to slip. What is the coefficient of static friction between the blocks?

For some reason for number 1 I can't get part c, i've tried .027 and .03 but they are wrong. For number 2 I don't know why it's wrong either but i've gotten .40 and .39

  • Gear/Transmission problem with my Car?

It is a 1994 Toyota Corolla. Just recently, as I was driving home from school and going to park into my garage I stopped and was in the process of shifting my gears from D all the way back to P. However, right before I managed to go from R to P my foot slipped and i think the lever jammed. Now the lever gets stuck when I try to go from R to P. When I try to go from P to R there is some resistance but it is still capable to change the gear. When I drive the car, it works fine. However, every time when I try to park(Go from D all the way back to P). The lever gets stuck between R and P. (The order of gears form top to bottom is P, R, N, D, 2, L) What exactly is the problem here and how do I fix it? (I have checked the fluid levels and they are all fine). It is an automatic transmission.

  • Need help with 1 fluids physics problem?

A ship, carrying freshwater to a desert island in the Caribbean, has a horizontal cross-sectional area of 2700 m^2 at the waterline. When unloaded, the ship rises 6.00 m higher in the sea. How much water was delivered?

There was an identical one in my book with a cross-sectional area of 2650 m^2 and the ship rose 8.5 m high. In which the answer was 2.44 x 10^7. However when i try to solve it i always get 2.25 x 10^7. Isn't it supposed to be 2650*8.5*1000? If not could someone show me what i'm doing wrong? Also, show steps and how you got to your answer. Thanks.
