I applied for a job about 3 weeks ago and the on-line status after my application was reviewed said I passed the minimum qualifications 100%. I checked up on it recently and it's jumped up to 300%. What does this mean? Could it mean I am over-qualified? I have applied for other positions and have received emails specific to them saying I am not a match, but I've yet to receive further direction regarding this and 2 other positions similar to it. How man you surpass 100%? I'm baffled.

It turned on one morning after I had gassed up the night before. So I tightened my gas cap and it turned off on a drive home only to turn back on 2 days later. I got the code checked and it was the P0440, so I bought a new gas cap, reset it, and it still turned on. What else can I do myself to check the other possible causes before taking it in to the shop? Can I test it myself for a vacuum leak? I don't smell any gas and it runs fine. Visually, the hoses look to be in good shape.

I keep reading different information about what the exact procedure for a name change in Texas is. The clerk's office can't give me any guidelines because it counts as legal advice. I guess what I'm confused about is, some sites say I need to staple my fingerprints to the petition form but others say I need to mail them with the cause or ORI number, which I can't obtain until I file my petition.

So what is the order in which to do it?

My car was smelling a little bit burned today. Not like sulfur, more like burning oil... maybe. So after it cooled, I popped the hood checked my oil & coolant and they were both fine. I then noticed that there was some burnt sludge coming out from the top of my battery. Nothing crazy or even fresh looking since it was a bit dusty, but there was a thin layer of this stuff on there. So I immediately thought my alternator must be overcharging the battery causing it to leak.

I took it to Auto Zone for a diagnostic test and supposedly this battery I've had for 1 year already without any problems besides this recent leaking is bad. I asked him if it was for sure not the alternator and he said no. Thing is I had a bad alternator with my previous car and the diagnostic test didn't catch it either. Anyway, while he switched out the battery, he had to remove the intake boot and uncovered oil was leaking into my manifold. He saw that the PCV valve was busted and replaced it for me and said that was the cause.

My question is, are these problems related in any way? Also, is there a way to find out if my alternator is the problem besides a diagnostic test? Or do I just have to wait out and see if my battery leaks again?

I took my car in for a check up because it's making a creaking sound when I turn to the right (whether while driving or stationary). It's not too loud, kind of sounds like rubber friction or at first I thought it was my plastic dashboard creaking. Anywho, that is the only symptom. No leaks as far as I can tell, no drifting, swaying or bouncing when I drive. No sounds when I am on a bumpy road. Just the turning.

My CV-joint are good as is my power steering. But the mechanic says I need all 4 of my struts and strut mounts replaced for a bit over a grand in cost.

Am I being swindled here? Aside from going to another shop for a second opinion, how can I check for wear?

My nephew has some lumps on his neck that have grown over the past couple of months. My mom & I are worried it could be some sort of lymphatic cancer as a worst case scenario. My mom babysits him 5 days a week as my sister works. We have told her time and time again to take him to the doctor. Initially she did and the doctor recommended a surgery/biopsy, but the day of the surgery, my sister and brother in law canceled supposedly for fear that the surgery could go wrong.

Obviously the doctor believed, especially after running tests, that the best option was to remove these lumps, so my mom and I know they can't be good. But my sister simply won't take my nephew back to a doctor. We beg and beg, but she refuses. Does my mother, as his grandmother, have any rights or guardianship to where she can take him to a specialist and if need be, approve surgery? Or do we just have to sit back helplessly and wait until maybe it's too late? What are our options?

It's played in Ross stores and I heard it remixed at the club the other night. It's this indie sounding electro-ish song that kind of sounds like the male version of Tegan & Sarah or sort of like Mgmt "Kids" in the vocals. It said something about "Tonight is all we have" and has a high pitched part which I can't make out. Any guess helps!

I'm planning a round trip to San Antonio, about 1,000 miles in total and I'm unsure as to whether or not my car will make it. It's had several repairs throughout the years from a new alternator to fixing the timing belt, valves, and water pump. But it's running good right now.

For those of you that know about cars, do you think it's ok to make such a long trip? What should I check before I go if so, & what could be some worst case scenarios that I should prepare for?

Or If I'm a dependent, does the money go to my parents? I'm trying to figure out why my coworkers have a higher tax return when we get paid the same and made similar amounts of money. The federal income tax that was withheld from me is extremely low in comparison.

I'm going to go on a date at the park, and I'm wondering what is something fun we can do there. There are no swings there or slides. But it's a park pretty high up on a mountain and the view is magnificent. Other than enjoying this view, what can I do with my date? Do you think a game of some sort would be fun?

O.k, so I have this lady friend who I like. We started to go out, but jobs have interfered and things have been set back. I worry that the lack of interaction, and the boring times we do get together are going to make her change her mind about me, so I want to take her on an amazing date. I want some new, yet moderately romantic ideas that will really make her have a good time. Not just a dinner and a movie, something unique, but I can't think of much. Got any ideas?
