Mister Bob the Tomato
English Comprehension: What does this statement mean in your best interpretation?
Context First: A group of people have just finished a large event. At this point, everyone needs to wait on the treasurer's report before they can start picking apart the results looking for places to improve. Finally, Sue Stevens, the treasurer, is a bit on the heavy side.
Here is the statement:
"Just enjoy what we all created for a few days…that stuff [the evaluations] is like a Snickers Bar – it’s “not going anywhere for awhile (right Sue Stevens?)! If you think of something good or not-so-good, write it down and then leave it alone. We have plenty of time to “fix it” for next year."
So...interpret the above statement please.
1 AntwortLanguagesvor 10 JahrenAt work...told to write a letter against my beliefs, how would you handle it?
I work in a large law firm as an admin asst. One of my supervisors is retired but still retains use of the firm for secretarial-type duties. All of his work is not related in any manner to the work of the firm but, rather, is mostly for his charitable endeavors. While doing his work from outside the firm bugs me, it was only this morning that I knew how much...I have just completed a 2 page letter to the National Republican Party's chairman in D.C. It is written from an anonymous point-of-view which leads me to believe it will become a form letter for group mailing. Within the letter, he has composed multiple insults toward President Bush and the Republican Party as a whole. When he comes into the office later today to start making edits, I'll have to endure more insulting commentary in silence so that I don't cause trouble. As you have guessed by now, I am a Republican. However, my upsetment would be the same if I were a Democrat and he were insulting Hillary Clinton. What to do?
16 AntwortenLaw & Legalvor 1 JahrzehntAlternate NFL Helmets...Why OK in Dallas and S.D. but not in Seattle?
When the Seahawks switched to their new unis a few years ago, the NFL would not allow them to use different helmets during the year (they wanted to wear the new blue at home and the "old" silver away if I recall.). Now I see Dallas with their ridiculous "white" helmets and now S.D. can wear white or powder blue it seems (I may be wrong on S.D.). Anyone know why this is (aside from the obvious $$$ part)?
3 AntwortenFootball (American)vor 1 JahrzehntWhy don't professional sports leagues (or their suppliers) have more offerings for "larger" fans?
I especially don't understand it with the NFL. Other than jerseys you can't get much of anything over 3XL. What about us Big and Tall folks? Anyone know of any specialty shops for this type of stuff?
4 AntwortenFootball (American)vor 1 JahrzehntWho was this comedian? "A Day @ Disneyland" early 1980's bit.?
This guy was the headliner on an HBO special called "Detroit Comedy Jam (not Def Comedy Jam). He was a thin, white man with traditional (not dyed like Carrot Top) red hair. His main bit was a routine called "A Day @ Disneyland" in which he impersonated an animatronic character @ Disneyland. It featured a joke that went "While you're in the park, don't miss the 5 blondes on a waterbed ride. Sure...it's a lot of 'E' tickets but Walt gets good women." I'd love to find video of this somewhere. Thanks!

In a nutshell...
I have access to my boss' e-mail. Saw an exchange between her and 2 other co-workers. Topic was ugly pictures and one entry was my workplace ID photo followed by inappropriate (not obscene though) comments.
While technically not "public"...I shouldn't have to see this type of stuff should I? Is this possibly workplace harrassment?
